HOW IT ENDS

Heavy footsteps echoes the hallway, heartbeat racing not wanting to go on. A halt in the corridor then a loud sigh, tear almost escaping her eye. She thought of turning back, to run away and wished it wasn’t real. All she sees is black, how she loves black, but not the flowers, grand flowers to be exact in their house.

How she wished she would showed up with those smiles that is so sweet, a smile that could give a reason to smile too, and those laughs that made her heart races. She missed everything about her, about them and what they had.

Regaining her strength, she continues to walk, looking around just to find memories replaying like a movie scene, like it was yesterday, how it happened so fast, too fast that even a cheetah can’t outrun it. No one can outrun time though, not her nor the person she loves.

As she face a familiar a door, she took a deep breath and open the knob, tears fall down, one by one until it came rushing like a rain or maybe a waterfall suits it better.

There a picture of her in the table, surrounded by candlelit with flickering lights and flowers underneath. How can such beauty leave the world?

Why such a beautiful flower was picked from a garden full of rotten grass?

A tragedy that was never meant to happen, but it did.

She clutches to her heart, feeling it beats, oh how they love to listen at each other’s heartbeat as they lay down in bed, feeling their warmth against each other.

“How? Why?”  Are the only words that came from as she hugged her picture, how she wished it was her instead of that frame. Instead of the urn in front of her.
