As he settles down on the hard seat in that little white room, he lets out a long, loud sigh, pulling out his mobile to start watching the various news that have been broadcast throughout the day. There are more and more of these videos all over the internet. It is inevitable not to reproduce any if it seems that it is the only thing that is talked about in those days. Although, he cannot deny that he is proud of the fact that his father is the protagonist of many of them.

Sung Kyu purses his lips and thinks that, if it weren't for the fact that some decades ago, the statutes that govern his society changed to improve the well-being of the omegas, all the privileges would go to betas and alphas without any restriction.
"Do you think they will mention dad?"
"Oh, of course i do." Says the doctor, taking her son's arm to wipe it with a little alcohol. "Without your father, none of this would have been possible." She says with conviction. She take the syringe and carefully stick it into the glass container. Sung Kyu watches the tube fill up and squints as she feels the needle sink into her white skin.
The boy wrinkles the fabric of his pants between the thin fingers of his free hand, and begins to feel the same singular discomfort as the other times he has gone to the laboratory to receive that injection. At twenty, Sung Kyu has never experienced his first heat because of her.
"How you feel?" His mother asks him when he discards the medical supplies.
"Very good, actually. Every now and then I get nauseous, but, it's not something that bothers me much. This suppressor works wonders, even when I started college, I was mistaken for a beta." Sung Kyu explains, amused.
"Oh darling, but you're too beautiful to be mistaken for a beta." His mother mentions with bright eyes. "Didn't half the alphas you know wanted to woo you?"
Sung Kyu rolls his eyes, embarrassed. And he thinks that's the main reason he wanted to help his parents try that suppressive formula at such a young age. He don't want that his period of heat to surprise by showing up in the middle of his classes, and he end up dropping out of school, or worse yet, getting expelled due to his inability to control yourself. It is forbidden to attend classes while in heat, but, missing five days from school and being besieged by alphas who cannot keep their sanity, or even getting pregnant, is not something he want to live at his young age.

"I'm glad you think so, darling. Omegas are not objects, and even if this society was still primitive, your father and I would have done our best to protect you." The doctor says before planting a sweet kiss on his forehead.

"Now that I have been allowed to summon you to this meeting, I want to begin by introducing myself to the new members." Sung Kyu's father begins as all the gazes of those present are on him.
The most curious eyes that observe him in the venue, are of the omegas that, just a couple of years ago, were chosen to be part of the Congress as a way to maintain the balance between the genders.
"I don't think that's necessary, Dr. Kim Jong Wan. You are an eminence. There is no one in this country who does not know you." Says the president of the Congress; an elderly alpha with impeccable ethics.
"Congressman Lee Jung Yeop, i am honored for your comment, and if so, I will begin with the exposition of my work."
The others members of Congress look at him, fascinated. Some of them have been eagerly waiting for that first meeting to take place. Needless to say that, after the statutes were reformed to give omegas more privileges and same rights (and of course obligations) as betas and alphas, most the they wanted to propose better laws to give them more opportunities to their families to live with dignity. Especially those alpha congressmen who had only been able to have omega children as offspring.
"For those of you who are not familiar with my research at the NMH², i want to mention that, for ten years, I have been working on the formula of a suppressant that inhibits the heat period of the omegas in adolescent age, without risk factors and with almost zero side effects." He explains as an aide finishes handing out the printed information to all members of Congress.
"You mean that omegas can use suppressants from an early age." Says an omega, interested.
"That's right, Congressman Hwang. At his words, those present discuss the doctor's work, accepting almost immediately that it is too important and transcendental for everyone.

"Dr. Kim!." The president warns him, however, the aforementioned alpha woman raises her hand to silence him.

Everyone is silent for a moment due to Dr. Kim's explanation. Years and years of economic and social studies support his words.

"Even if this product is so beneficial for adolescent omegas, as you explain, we can't think of trading it for free." Hee Chul refutes, emphasizing the monetary issue.

"The president of the Industrial Bank continues to pressure us to find the perpetrators of the theft." Begins lieutenant Lee Sung Yeol, the alpha chief of the state security department, who expresses his concern to his superior, Jang Dong Woo, in the office.
"I know. But we cannot advance the investigation. They've called me from central office to tell me they'll send us support, but it appears that the NASI is investigating other, more important matters,” explains the alpha behind his desk.
"What could be more important than the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars across the country?!"
Dong Woo stares at him and leans against the furniture.
"It is said that it is not only about bank robberies by this gang of shapeshifters, but also about a trafficking network that involves high-ranking police officers."
Lee sighs, overwhelmed and surprised. He knows his jobs are in jeopardy if they don't pay off soon, and he's still unable to believe that shapeshifters appeared just a few months ago, when it was a fact that that ability had been lost by alphas a long time ago.
"Captain Jang, an agent is looking for you." His secretary says suddenly through the intercom.
"Show him in, please."
They immediately hear a couple of knocks on the door.
"Good afternoon." The newcomer greets before a look of surprise materializes on his face.
"Woo Hyun?" The Lieutenant asks admiringly.
"Sung Yeol!" How long without seeing you.
"They know each other?" Jang asks, puzzled.
"Yes. We went to the same university." Sung Yeol clarifies as he extends his hand to Woo Hyun to greet him effusively.
"How small the world is." Dong Woo mutters.
"Forgive my bad manners, captain Jang. I'm Nam Woo Hyun. The NASI special agent who will assist you in your investigations." He says seriously as he leans in. "It will be a pleasure to work with you, sir."
