Unexpected

The male woke up from being shaken by a pair of hands. “Jeno, wake up, you idiot.” He lifted his head up, squinting his eyes at the blurry figure. He rubbed his eyes, trying to make out the individual standing before him. Chaerin was bent down, leveling herself to where he sat. “Good morning, beautiful.”

She rolled her eyes at him. “Good morning, my . It’s 4:30 in the morning, idiot. I woke up to grab a glass of water, only to find you in here. Why the hell are you sleeping in here?”

Even when he was tired, he couldn’t keep himself from smirking a little. “Insomnia and migraines are a of a combo, so I decided to get some work done. Did my princess miss me that much?”

“Shut the hell up and go back to bed, idiot. Come on.” Her fingers pinched his ear, dragging him back to their room. He couldn’t tell if she wanted him to sleep or keep him awake by doing so.

“Ow! , you didn’t need to do that. I prefer a kiss.”

“Oh, shut up.” He watched the girl climb into bed and followed. He lied on his back and stared at the ceiling. Unfortunately, he couldn’t seem to go back to sleep. His migraine had returned. He sat up, reaching for his pain killers. “Don’t take anymore, idiot. You’ve taken a billion already.” He heard her say from her side of the bed. It sounded like she was half asleep.

“Well, what else am I supposed to do?” The boy mumbled irritatedly. He saw her figure sit up from the bed, crawling over to his side. She patted her lap, signaling him to lay his head there. “I can’t sleep properly if you’re awake. You’re lucky it’s the weekend and I don’t have any classes tomorrow.” She said grumpily. He shut his eyes the moment he felt her hands begin to massage his temple and smiled to himself.

“You get migraines often?” She asked in a calm tone.

“Yeah...way too often.” His voice was soft and calmer than usual, it was soothing to her ears, actually.

“Ever tried going to the doctor?”

“Mhm...said it was probably because of stress and lack of sleep from work.”

“Well, it makes sense. Jaemin told me you’re a workaholic.”

“...Can’t get anywhere unless you're on the grind, am I right?”

“I guess, idiot.” There was a long period of silence and she eventually heard his light little snores. The male finally managed to fall asleep. She cursed at herself for even allowing herself to help him. She hated him, but she couldn’t help it if he was hurting.
