Unexpected

“Jaemin, we have a problem.” Jaemin shut his eyes and sighed heavily as soon as he heard Jeno’s words. He knew the silence lately was too good to be true. If only the peace could last a little longer than how it usually did back then. Jaemin was busy taking pictures of inanimate objects in the studio when Jeno appeared without notice. “How’d you find me here?” The male asked while his attention was still on his camera.

“It’s not hard to ask around.” Jeno answered calmly. His calm state was quickly replaced with a panicked one. “But that’s not important. Jaemin, there’s a big problem.”

Jaemin rolled his eyes before turning to his friend. Jeno once again revealed the light bruise on his skin. “Oh.” Jaemin said blankly. Sometimes, Jeno hated how the latter never really focused on things at a first glance. It was a couple seconds later when Jaemin’s eyes widened from the realization of what he just saw, “Are you ing kidding me?! You guys ed again?! Oh my god, I don’t get paid enough for relationship counseling-“

“Will you stop yelling and listen?” Jaemin immediately pressed his lips into a thin line and faked a smile at the boy, waiting for him to talk.

“I think I’ve already fallen for her.”

Jaemin smiled brightly and patted him on the back, “That’s great!” However, his smile quickly disappeared when Jeno remained frowning.

“No. The problem is, she simply told me it was just in the moment. Like, it didn’t mean anything to her. And now she’s acting as if nothing ever happened and it’s bothering me a lot.”

“Then talk to her about it.”

“I tried Jaemin! She wouldn’t talk about it; she changed the subject.”

“Maybe you’re being too quick with your emotions. Maybe you don’t love her, but is convinced because of everything.”

Jaemin could see the distraught look in Jeno’s face. The male was actually serious. “I tried thinking that way, but I know how I feel. She’s been making me feel some type of way since forever now, but she obviously likes that Hyunjin guy. Also, I told her about Haera so now I feel extra vulnerable and I’m freaking out!”

“You need to chill first. You need some time to just calm down. I’ll try to talk to her. As your best friend, you know I have to warn you about the worst case scenario, right?” Jeno frowned and lowered his head, “I do.”

“You have to be ready for it if things don’t work out. Think about what you want to do after that, especially since you have an engagement. Just prepare for the worst, hopefully things will be okay.” Jaemin knew the moment Jeno admitted his feelings that it was a bad thing. It was scary and it was risky.
