C35 - Definitely Don’t Want to be Ugly

Baek Insoo realized that things might have gone array from the sudden change of Park Hanbyul face. “What happened?”

“Kang Jihwan hands got chopped off, and he’s in the hospital now going through surgery!” Park Hanbyul looked startled and terrified. She didn’t expect things would turn out like that. She was waiting for the news of Sandara Park being destroyed, instead she got the news of Kang Jihwan hands being chopped off.

What did Sandara do? Hanbyul was hit by a sense of terror that was beyond her imagination.

She picked up her phone and dialed Sunny again. No answer.

“Mom, Sunny is not picking up either. Something must have happened! What should we do now?” Park Hanbyul was panicking. Things were heading the opposite direction of what she expected. More importantly, she had absolutely no idea of what had happened.

“Don’t panic. Things already happened, so panicking is not going to help.” Baek Insoo seemed much calmer. After all, she was more experienced.

She knew that the situation they found themselves in was suboptimal. “Kang Jihwan hands were off chopped for a reason. The number one priority right now is to find out what actually happened.”

“Yes, yes! I’m going to the hospital right now!” Park Hanbyul almost walked out the door before her mother stopped her.

“Are you stupid? If you show up at the hospital now, isn’t it obvious to Sandara that you and Kang Jihwan are connected?”

“Then what should I do?” Park Hanbyul didn’t really care about Kang Jihwan hands, but if the Kang Family found out that he lost his hands because he was helping her, they would make her pay.

Baek Insoo recognized the seriousness of the situation. She tried to regain some focus, “Don’t worry, let’s stay in the hotel for the time being. Nothing has actually happened as far as we’re concerned, other than the fact that we know Kang Jihwan hands were chopped off. Sandara has not come looking for us, which means we are still safe. I suspect that she may not even know we’re involved.”

“You’re right, mom!” Nodded Park Hanbyul. “But what should we do about Kang Jihwan?”

Baek Insoo thought about it for a second, “Don’t you worry. It could be that his hands had nothing to do with what we’re doing. Just in case, we should be prepared. I’m going to contact the Mr. Choi and ask him to help sort it out. At the end of the day, mom won’t let anything happen to you!”

After the reassurance from Baek Insoo, Hanbyul  felt much better. Mr. Choi was there to help them, so there shouldn’t be a problem.

“Mr. Choi has been quite loyal to us, hasn’t him? He has done a lot for us all these years.” Park Hanbyul  smiled as she started to recover from the nerve-racking moment earlier.

Baek Insoo didn’t respond. She had faith in Mr. Choi ability to handle Kang Jihwan affair. What she didn’t have much faith in was Sandara Park. She and Park Hanbyul got in trouble on multiple occasions thanks to Sandara. Although every time they were able to finagle their way out, it had made Insoo rethink her strategy towards the girl.

“I think for the time being, we should hold off on sabotaging Sandara That girl has some tricks up her sleeves.” said Baek Insoo with a sour expressio
