Donghae’s POV

Weeks past after the incident at the hospital. Me and Hyukkie barely saw eachother because of the EECL happening now. He was working non - stop at the hospital while we were assisting military forces non - stop too.

I sighed as I rubbed my forehead, this headache really getting to me. 

“Are you okay, chief?” The head military, Shindong, asked.

I looked up at him tiredly, I was tired and I was so worried about Hyukkie, he was in direct contact with this virus and I just can’t help but feel scared for my partner.

“You look like , Donghae-ssi.” He commented, sitting down beside me as we wearily looked at the hoobae’s checking cars and fully spraying it with disinfectant smog.

“I feel like too, Hyung-nim.” I grunted.

“Is this about your boyfriend at the hospital?” He asked gently, I felt my heart constricting because I couldn’t hold him or go near him because He always reasons that he doesn’t want me to catch anything.

“Y-yeah. It’s just I’m adjusting. Before lockdown we were inseparable. T-then now, , h-he doesn’t want to be near me. He doesn’t want me c-catching anything. What i-if his he was the o-one to catch it, h-hyung-nim h-huh?” I asked, a little angry. I just didn’t want anything to happen to him.

Shindong patted my shoulder,

“He just wants you safe, Donghae. He’s a doctor. He holds patients with the virus. And he knows what kind of pain they go through. He probably doesn’t want you to go through that. That’s why he keeps his distance from you.” Shindong explained. “Hey, how bout you tell me what’s your first expression on your Hyukjae?” He asked, trying to distract me.

I smiled at the question. 

“When I first saw him, I felt like I wanted to be close to him. To get to him to play with him. I just felt like we would click you know? I was in a daze when I saw him, Hyung-nim. If you’d see him, he’s the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid my eyes on. He’s kind-hearted and he’s also strong willed. He’s like the ace of humans. He can do anything.” I said softly, my smile grew with every word.

I heard Hyung chuckle, “Waaah, I miss the feeling of being in love. You really love him, I can feel that. You just have to wait a little while neh? This will end.”

I smiled, trying to be positive.

My phone suddenly vibrated, I saw Leeteuk hyung was calling. I raised a brow, the hairs on the back of my neck. My stomach turned to knots.

“Hello, Hyung?”

“Come to the hospital now.”

I stood up abruptly, my hands trembled.

“What’s wrong, hyung!? Did something happen?!” 

“Pabo! Did you forget that it’s Hyuk’s birthday?”

My eyes widened,

“Oh is right! You better be here in an hour because we’re planning a small surprise party for him! Didn’t Kyuhyun tell you?” 

“No, I haven’t seen Kyuhyun since this morning before he left for checkpoints at Incheon. Goddammit. I’ll be there Hyung I just need to look for a present.” I said, trying to
