Warm On A Cold Night

Description

Hey, I’m about to finish my work. I was wondering if we—”

“Of course. Wait for me there.”

Rosie is the fastest person on earth every time Jisoo calls her. After 7 years being apart from her love, this is the only way she could make up for the time she could have spent with her, by always being one call away. It was 6PM and it was already dark. The weathercast showed that it may or may not snow tonight but regardless of that, Rosie took off immediately with her car, excited to meet Jisoo.

As soon as she reached her office, she saw her waiting outside the tall and gray building. Jisoo was wearing the coat she gave her when Rosie flew back to South Korea and it became Jisoo’s favorite coat ever since. She got into the car and gave the blonde girl a short kiss. Rosie couldn’t hide her smile; this is definitely her favorite part every time she picks Jisoo up.

“So, how’s work?” She asked.

“First of all, we have to grab some dinner because I’m hungry as hell! Second, my boss. I really hate him, he never pays any attention to me unless he wants coffee.” Jisoo groaned and put her bag in the back seat.

“What the hell? Did he forget that you are literally an accountant? Not some intern or assistant?” Rosie expressed the same annoyance to Jisoo’s boss. She hates her as much as she does. If she could just kill that ugly boss, she would. “You know what, let me buy you a meal that could make you forget his face.”

“Ugh Yes please!”

They bought 16 pieces of chicken wings and beers. This was always their thing; once they bought this food, they would always eat them inside the car, that is parked in their favorite spot where almost all the city lights can be seen yet, it was distant enough not to hear any of the noise from the city at night. They opened the box of chicken wings and Jisoo quickly grabbed a piece.

“I would never get tired of this chicken!” She said, while was stuffed.

Rosie looked at Jisoo, smiling and amazed at the older girl like it was her first time seeing her like that. “You say that every time we eat this.”

“Shut up. You know how I love this.”

Their nights together aren’t always like this, but when things are unplanned, this is what they do. Sometimes, they would go watch 3 movies at the cinemas in one night or go to museum and waterpark dates. They would go anywhere if they had time and they would repeat it many times if it means they could be together. In other words, they are inseparable.

2 hours have already passed, and the two women really took their time in talking about everything and anything they could think of. From their high school years, to Netflix. Everything. It’s as if they never run out of things to talk about and I guess, that’s what happens when you’re with your soulmate. Sometimes, you just get surprised at how you two think of the same thing at the same time or when you have the same opinions at things. However, there would always be times that two can’t be together in the same page.

“How’s Alice by the way?” Jisoo asked awkwardly and reached for a beer.

Alice never approved of their relationship, she would often tell that to Rosie but she would act like she didn’t hear her. “She’s back in Australia to open up her own firm there.”

“Oh wow. That’s great Rosie, you could work there too!”

The blondie shook her head in refusion. “Not gonna happen, babe. I can’t leave you again.”

“Not that again, Rosie. You know I support you with everything that you do. You can’t just brush off that opportunity.” Jisoo argued. This is where they refuse to agree to disagree. Rosie kept silent and tried to change topic but the older girl just won’t let that happen. “Come on, Rosie. We happened to survive 7 years, and yes I missed you a lot but I can’t stop you from being successful babe.” Jisoo cupped the blondie’s face. She really wants to change her mind because if Rosie really choose to stay in Korea for her and forget her own goals, Jisoo can’t ever forgive herself. “You don’t have to worry about me—”

Suddenly, Jisoo’s phone rang and the sound made Rosie roll her eyes. She hates this sound, because it means her love has to go home.

I’m on my way home. Yes. No! You don’t have to. Don’t worry. I love you too.” Jisoo ended the call and immediately looked at Rosie.

“Was it your wife?” Rosie asked without looking at her. She started the engine and buckled up her seatbelt. “Jennie called you early tonight huh?”

Jisoo just nodded and reached for the seatbelt. “I’m sorry.”

“Let me take you home.”
