Description

My grandmother, before she passed of old age, used to tell me stories of how she and my grandfather was involved in an arranged married. It was nothing romantic, from what I heard. As a matter of fact, it fascinated me how my grandparents managed to have so many children despite not having a bit of genuine love for one another. I mean, they have 6 kids Out of all those times how could they not say 'I love you' to each other?

When it came to love, my grandmother would always tell me to take my time in finding the right guy and not to rush into relationships. She didn’t want the same thing happening to me unless it’s the last resort. Who am I kidding though, it's the 21st century and a majority of guys nowadays only want to sleep around using us women like objects. This is the reason why I refused to waste my time on finding a significant other despite the fact that I’m already in my mid 20s and my parents are constantly pushing me to find a husband. What’s so bad about being forever alone? For one, I’m just glad I’m not living during my grandparents’ time when arranged marriage was their only option. I, Bae Joohyun, am an independent women and I do not need no man in my life to be happy. That is that.

Foreword

"Look at her, she's so elegant, beautiful, and well behaved. I'd do anything to have a daughter like yours. It's unfortunate how she is still single. She's nearly reaching the prime age of 30 and she has yet to find a suitable husband. Are you the least bit concerned for your daughter Sooyoung-ah?" The older women patted her friend's hand in concern as they both directed their attention towards the younger girl sitting alone in the living room silently reading her book.

"Our Joohyun's always been living on her own and successful with her modeling career," the woman let out a sigh. "But it'd be nice if she had someone to be with her when I'm no longer in this world. I'd be lying if I said her father and I haven't been discussing about this. Besides, she's busy so it's rather hard for her to find a nice young man."

"Don't say such thing Sooyoung-ah. You're still young and you haven't had any grandchildren yet. Your eldest son and his wife hasn't even had their first child after 3 years of being married together. I've known you since primary school, don't talk nonsense like that ever again I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen to you." The room fell silent for a short moment when an idea hit the older woman like a ton of bricks. Her eyes lit up as she gripped onto her friend's hand, pulling her over to a corner where her friend's daughter was unable to listen in their conversation. "My youngest son," she whispered. "He recently broken up with his girlfriend a couple weeks ago!" The younger woman gasped, yanking her hand from the older woman's grip, shaking her head in denial.

"There is no way they are going to work out. They're both well known in their rightful industries and who know's what would happen if the press finds out they were dating each other. Besides, how would that look for your son Mino? He recently broke up with his girlfriend. He'd give off the impression of a bad person if he started dating again so soon!"

"I know..I got too far ahead of myself. I guess it was the idea of our children marrying each other got me excited. Who am I to decide the fate of your daughter and my son."  The younger woman couldn't help but feel empathy towards her close friend. She loved the idea of their children marrying and nothing made her happier than her only daughter finally having someone she can rely on other than herself. In addition to that, it didn't seem her eldest son was having plans on giving her a grandchild anytime soon due to his work as the CEO one of the well known tech industries in South Korea, 'RedV', which requires him to travel for the majority of the time. As of now, all she could do was hope for the best.

Chapter 3: I don't understand why would Irene ever agree to get married to a guy like him TT (I say that while Mino's my ultimate bias adkkf) I understand if Irene had the compassion to help Mino for the sake of not breaking the dying father's heart but Irene seems to be too strong-willed and powerful to be spoken to like that TT like mentioning sugar daddies and how slow she is in packing like wtf that much of disrespect- how did she just brush that away. There's got to be a reason why Irene's putting up with all this esp when she said she never wants to marry in the very beginning and I'm curious what it is! Good luck with the next chapter! Sehun save yo bestfriend!!

Chapter 1: Mino saying he's the best god has to offer made me laugh. The both of them seem to be very proud people and thus would definitely clash. I'm interested where this is going. Can't wait to hop on to chapter 2 soon. Thanks for writing!

Chapter 3: Mino seems like a jerk for someone who is getting married to make his father happy, it isn't like Joohyun's the one in need to get married. Joohyun really needs to set him straight.
