“Why is there always trouble whenever you show up?” Jongin grumbled with an unamused expression.

Having sensed that something was not right, Jongin had rushed over just in time to be blinded by the light following the successful sealing of the spirit.

Sehun batted his eyelashes innocently at Jongin in response, which earned him a scorn from the latter. Meanwhile Chinsun returned with a mop in hand and threw it at Sehun.

“Clean the floor,” Chinsun mumbled. “Make sure it’s spotless.”

“You’re both so mean to me,” Sehun huffed.

One glare from Jongin however, and Sehun immediately started mopping the floor without further complaints. Baekhyun gawked, unable to believe that the model Oh Sehun was currently mopping the floor of a secondhand bookshop, trying to remove the spell circle that he had drawn himself. Somehow, for the now speechless Baekhyun, that was even more unbelievable than the existence of spirits and exorcism.

“Wait, you’re an exorcist?” Baekyun suddenly exclaimed, his brain finally catching up with everything.

“Oh yeah.” Sehun nodded while still mopping, frowning at a stubborn spot that refused to be wiped off. “My family used to be quite prominent amongst exorcists back in the day, but with each generation, those who inherited the ‘sight’ were fewer and fewer. My grandpa was the last one with the ‘sight’ but even then he never did anything with it and just lived a normal life. In my fact my dad didn’t even believe in it until I was born and started learning about exorcism and the spirit world on my own by reading the books and materials left behind by our ancestors.”

Done with the task assigned to him, Sehun threw the mop at Jongin who sent him an annoyed glance. Chinsun then intervened before the two started squabbling and laid out chilled barley tea for everyone.

“Anyway,” Sehun continued talking after taking a sip of the tea. “I met these two a couple of years ago when I had a photoshoot here in Jeju and decided to get a bit of field experience with spirits while I was at it.”

“That’s exactly what an inexperienced fool who has never dealt with serious spirits would say,” Jongin scoffed. “You would dead if we hadn’t happened to pass by in that moment and save your sorry .”

“That I cannot deny.” Sehun nodded before turning to Baekhyun. “Imagine the shock I went through. I was frozen on the ground because my legs had given away from fear. I was mentally preparing myself to say my goodbyes, but then a random girl with weird tattoos popped out of nowhere and used her body to shield me — who’s double her size — against a very angry spirit.”

“Jongin’s the one that did the actual exorcising though,” Chinsun added.

“Yeah, and then he gave you an earful,” Sehun chuckled.

“That’s because she rushed in without thinking or even assessing the situation properly,” Jongin said defensively.
