No one knows how myeongwol came into existence, not even the oldest residents of the immortal town know. A temple that sits atop of Dangun mountain reads how the Goddess Myeongwol of ancient myth created this place for those she believed were wronged in their previous life. A tragic life is what brought them to this place and now they can not leave, protected by the Goddess and her magic. Seen as a curse to some and a chance for a new life by others.

However, the creation of her island did not come within its problems. Many gods and spirits disapproved of what he had created. One of them being Yeomna, the God of Death. After hearing what the Goddess had done, bestowed a curse upon the village every seventh night. On that night, a samdugumi and dokkaebis would invade the village, taking whoever they could and wreaking havoc on the serine village.

The first curse was devastating, killing the entire population of Myeongwol. Out of rage and retaliation, the Goddess created animal masks, to confuse and disorientate the monsters that lurked on the Seventh Night. To her joy and Yeomna’s dismay, the masks worked. From that day forward, every villager entering the island was given an animal mask to protect them on the Seventh Night.

As the village grew and developed, so did the residents in the village. More shops and businesses began to open, using the limitations to their advantage to advance the village into a small cityscape. With the occasional gift from the Goddess, the city thrives on its own.

myeongwol is , meaning mun, muse, and faceclaim all must be years or older. Myeongwol is a mature roleplay that deals with heavy themes and topics, such as death. 

reservations last up to 48 hours and anon reservations must be accompanied by a password. 

there is a one-week dating ban. with the lure of the village, unfortunately, we cannot allow move-in couples. marriages are allowed but pregnancies are not. 

in character drama is permitted, however, do not let it get out of hand. if the admin team feels like it is impairing the atmosphere of the roleplay, all parties involved will be spoken to. out of character drama is strictly prohibited. 

we are semi-literate to literate, meaning that we encourage plotting and active threads within your comfort zone. this also means we highly encourage sns posting and commenting in order to keep activity up. 

each mun is allowed one muse within myeongwol to start out with. you can apply for a second muse within two weeks of your first muse's arrival, however, you must be active with your first muse for your second one to be accepted. 

please keep content in dms and private threads. 

please discuss any hiatuses with the admin before you take them. 

if you would like to leave the roleplay, please inform the admin beforehand. if you leave without informing the admin, you will be blacklisted.

your muse does not remember their past. they only remember the minutes before their death. as they become more established within the roleplay, they can have flashbacks and glimpses into their past. however, they will never be able to fully remember their past life. 

as stated above, your muse and faceclaim must be . you may adjust their age +/- two years of your faceclaim's age. your muse cannot be a minor. 

your muse can either be new to myeongwol or an established member of myeongwol, that decision is in your hands. 

with the lure of myeongwol, move-in couples, siblings, etc. are not allowed. 

please be original as you can when creating your muse. you can use your faceclaim's name as your muse name but we encourage a little creativity. 

your muse's race cannot be outside your faceclaim's race. I.E if your faceclaim is thai in real life, your muse cannot be japanese. 

faceclaim changes are allowed, however, if the admin feels they are excessive, they will deny the request. 

take a look through our occupation page in order to find an occupation that best fits your muse. freelance occupations are accepted. if you would like to open a new establishment, please inform the admin beforehand to make sure it will align with the lure of the roleplay. 

when your muse enters myeongwol, they are given an animal mask to protect them on the seventh night. when choosing your mask, choose one that best fits your muse's personality. your key for entry is your chinese zodiac.

plagiarism is strictly prohibited. if it has been proven that any part of your muse's creation has been plagiarized then you will be immediately removed and blacklisted from the roleplay. 

in order to create an active and encouraging environment, welcoming new members is very important. Whether the welcoming is done through sns posts, plotting, dms, etc. making sure new muses feel welcomed is our top priority. 

new members must post an introduction post within the first 48 hours of the arrival to myeongwol. 

activity is measured by sns posts and public threads. if the admin notices inactivity on your account, they will message you. if that message goes unnoticed after 24 hours, you will be removed from the roleplay. 

if your account has been inactive 72 hours after your arrival, you will be immediately removed. 

— note  both admins work full time jobs but try their best to stay on top of applications. we are very attentive to when applcations are coming in however, there may be a delay due to real life circumstances.

make sure your faceclaim is free on our masterlist. if you're having difficulties choosing a faceclaim, please consult our wishlist. 

after filling out the application, please dm us with the following sentence. " (faceclaim name & group) has wandered into myeongwol as (muse name), (occupation & establishment). ie. loona's jeon heejin has wandered into myeongwol as kim soojin, a scientist at the observatory.  

when creating your mewe account, your name needs to be your muse's name. no exceptions. 

after the admin has accepted your application, you have 48 hours to request them as a friend on mewe.

our base, myeongwol, will speak both in character and out of character to your muse. think of her as an interactive npc.
