Sirens and Merfolk

Sirens are the vampires of the merfolk. It is not known how the first sirens came to be, but it is believed that a mermaid had eaten something and turned into a flesh craving creature. The said mermaid bit some merpeople and that marked the change between merfolk and sirens. As years passed by, sirens began to change women from sunken ship into sirens and they would feast on the men; creating a kingdom of sirens while the merfolk fought for their freedom. The merfolk, at that time was led by King Sebastian the First and the sirens were led by Queen Triton, hence the name “Triton Territory”. This was the first war and the merfolk than found a way to escape, swimming over to the safe seas to reside in peace away from the sirens.

The second war between the merfolk and the sirens was when Queen Erzula and her sirens infiltrated into the safe seas in order to get the Staff of Moses so she could wield it, giving her power to be able to lengthen her lifespan as well as get and grant legs. After the Staff was stolen and many merpeople and sirens killed, King Sebastian used the Fork of Poseidon that was his ultimate weapon to create the seamount barrier that exists today. It divides the safe seas from the Triton territory.
