Junmyeon felt as though he had been kicked in the gut. His eyes failed to focus on what was in front of him as everything around him started to blur together into a huge mess. Junmyeon searched Eunha’s face to gauge a reaction of any kind but was greeted instead by her usual expression of nonchalance that he had always failed to read.

Eunha shifted the weight on her heels, signalling that she was about to leave. Feeling himself panic, Junmyeon grabbed Eunha’s wrist without thinking and refused to let go. Eunha’s eyes trailed from Junmyeon’s flustered expression to his subtly trembling hands. Junmyeon swallowed loudly as he watched Eunha’s free hand getting closer and closer to his face, the tension building up inside of him.

The unnerved male was however reminded yet again of how unpredictable and capricious Eunha could be when she proceeded to flick him in the forehead, jolting his head back from the pure force of her surprise attack.

“I turned Yixing down,” Eunha stated gently.

Blinking blankly at the girl, Junmyeon felt the gears in his brain becoming dislodged as he failed to process the newfound information.

“You did?” Junmyeon questioned in disbelief and suspicion.

“Yes I did.” Eunha nodded, her lips curling into a mischievous smile. “Which means I now have an opening tomorrow evening. Would you like to book an appointment? I’m a very busy person you see, with a very very very hectic schedule. I’m probably the most sought after anaesthetist in Seoul if I say so myself.”

Loosening his grip on Eunha’s wrist, Junmyeon’s expression morphed from confused to flustered and to outright puzzled. Taking his time to repeat in his mind every word that Eunha had just said, something clicked inside of Junmyeon and his eyes brightened up, reflecting the same glint of playfulness displayed in Eunha’s eyes.

“My schedule’s a bit all over the place since I’m an ER doctor,” Junmyeon hummed while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “I’ll have to double check.”

“I see.” Eunha nodded in understanding, playing along with Junmyeon’s answer.

“Goddammit just say yes already!”

Eunha and Junmyeon snapped their head towards the sound of the third voice and easily found Minseok’s head poking out from the door that led to the staircase. The two could not help but wonder how long Minseok had been standing there listening in on their conversation. Realising that he had been discovered, Minseok unabashedly stepped out from hiding and leaned proudly against the wall, whistling a casual tune under his breath as if telling Junmeyon and Eunha to just ignore him.

Chucking at her flatmate’s silly behaviour, Eunha turned her attention back to Junmyeon and tugged on his sleeve.

“Since you at being decisive I’ll just book you in for now.”

“It’s a date then.” Junmyeon grinned delicately, taking in the joy that radiated from Eunha.

“Yes, it’s a date.”

Eunha gingerly removed Junmyeon’s hand from her wrist and then proceeded to place her hands on his shoulders to pull herself up on her tip-toes, closing the distance between them. Junmyeon’s breath hitched in his throat upon feeling Eunha’s nose grazing against his, her warm breath
