i'll be your home | l. markFor the ten billionth time, the miserable girl at the desk rubbed her eyes, forcing herself to stay awake. She sighed heavily as she stared at the her notebook. Its pages were filled with endless scribbles of math problems. Soojung massages her temples as she approaches her breaking point. The clock read 2:56 AM, yet she felt like she was no where near ready to sleep. At least not until she was confident enough for her math test in two days. Why wasn’t she be born intelligent? Her face fell into the palms of her hands. There was no way she was going to be able to pass this test. In addition, she knew her body was starting to shut down for the night. Forcing herself to stay awake, she only managed to do so for another twenty minutes before falling asleep at her desk. Once her desk was cleared of the notebooks and textbooks, the girl immediately collapsed onto her bed, quickly snuggling into her blankets.
It actually hurts her soul whenever she hears her alarm go off. It was 6:30 AM already? She honestly felt like it was only an hour. How disappointing. With a sigh, she rose from her bed lazily. It honestly just gets worse each day, huh? Typically, many students dislike the rule of school uniforms as it prevents them from being able to dress however they’d like. For Soojung, school uniforms saved her life. Being tired almost majority of the days in a year, she has no time to bother figuring out what to wear each day. All she had to do was wake up, wash up and slip into her school uniform. The downside is that her school uniform require all girls to wear skirts rather than pants. Other than that little issue, she loves not having to plan anything in the morning.
Due to the amount of exhaustion she was feeling this morning, Soojung insisted on getting herself coffee.
Even while standing in line, the poor girl was falling asleep. Luckily, there wasn’t too long of a line this morning, so not many people would spot her. As she stood behind one other person from the cashier, she could hear two boys speaking behind her. Man, for an early morning, they sure loved to talk. Soojung would be mistaken as a zombie for the way she walks so tiredly. “One iced triple shot with cream please.”
She could hear the same boys talking behind her. This time, it was about her. “Damn, she looks and sounds dead, yikes.” She heard one of them say, followed by the other saying “Yah, don’t talk too loud-“ The boys were quickly interrupted when she turned around at them in annoyance. One was wearing a hoodie and jeans along with circular glasses. The poor boy was the one that shushed the latter and was now gulping as she continued to glare at them. The other boy was also around his height, wearing only a t-shirt and jeans.
“Watch what you’re saying, will you?” her tone sent chills down the boys’ backs, they nodded in response. She sat down at a table as she waited for her to be ready. In the meantime, she rested her head on the table and shut her eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed as she could still hear those boys’ voices.
“Dude, she was so mad. Don’t say like that in public ever again. You’re going to get us in trouble.”
“It’s not my fault she’s in a bad mood. Others would be drooling over us if they ever ran into us. Which makes me wonder, did she really not recognize us at all?”
“Idiot, not everyone has to listen to our music, let alone know us.”
She mentally pictured what the boys looked like as she still kept her eyes shut. Who could they be? Oh. She, herself, was surprised she failed to recognize them. NCT’s Mark and Haechan. Personally, she’s a fan herself. However, now was not the time to be fangirling. She was tired and annoyed and the most irritating thing was that the members of her favorite group had pissed her off. It wasn’t something people could say everyday. No one ever talks about how they chose not to fangirl because their id
