Death of a Princess
Description
Memories from childhood concerning two certain monsters surface up for Jiho when she receives a letter from the government. She has been selected to join the workforce as a soldier and the thought of wielding arms petrifies her, certain that by taking up arms she would summon the two fiends. Yet she is obliged to do it or else lose her mother's love. When she takes up the sword she learns that Death and Decay are two very real things. Her world that was devoid of the knowledge of these two natural occurring phenomena crashes but a voice, a voice that has taken pity on her, soon guides her through the rubble.
Foreword
The womb is a mysterious thing, a place of intimate connection and life. Within there is peace, nourishment, and indeed the guarantee of the guardian. Without, there abides our primordial enemies of Death and Decay. Will a 20 year old fare well against the destruction of her matrix?
Some chapters will be M-rated because of sensitive topics (allusions to attempted abuse or the plotting/enacting thereof). Gore and (possible extreme) violence are also mentioned briefly.
Btw, chapter titles (except the first chapter) are all songs I like to listen to (3rd chapter is the name of an album).
This is a Dystopian fic that is my entry to DGNA_Forever's 2020 Variety Writing Contest

Update: I got 2nd place on her contest! Yay :)
In addition, this is my second entry to
Join Stepping Into Another World— The Writing Contest! The hosts respond very promptly and the contest already has a slew of entries if you just want to check out a different story :)
The prompts I chose are
19. "The greatest and most powerful revolutions often start very quietly, hidden in the shadows. Remember that." - Richelle Mead, Vampire Academy
And Image Prompt 6
And one more, final contest I have entered with this story:
Tigress' Girl Power Writing Contest
The chosen prompt was:
Text Prompt #20: Dystopian future. There is a perfectly structured world in which the lead character consistently has either A) a voice in their head or B) dreams telling them to "break from the script".
Update: I got 3rd! Thanks to Tigress once again for the contest :)
Okay, I may have lied (actually changed my mind). I discovered another contest through the Tigress' contest. This one is eye-catching because there is a set limit to entries and so the slots are filling up quick, so check it out while you can!
Its the Wildflower Writing Contest
I have selected Text Prompt 7 and Quote 16 for my entry :)
Update: This last contest closed.
