1 week has passed and Sojung hasn't come at school to be honest I'm relieved that he's gone so that I can get to move freely with my new bunch of friends but there's always that part of me that can't get the reason why I feel..worried? And it's stupid

"Oh wow! It's snowing" it was Hui who made me snapped out of my thoughts, realizing what he said I looked at my surroundings and he was right. It was snowing making me shiver in disgust

"Ew" I said pulling my coat to cover my body more, probably noticing my mere disgust of the weather he looked at me

"You, don't like snow?"

"It's too cold for my likings"

"Is that so—" He stopped when someone threw a ball of snow at his back, seeing Eric's retreating figure towards the wrong direction

"Yahhh! I'm going to kill you!—oh I forgot see ya later B!" That's what he said after running after Eric who is now hiding behind Hyunmin

They started to throw snowballs at each other, I decided to head inside away from the crowd and probably avoid getting involved in their 'friendly snow fight'

"Where you going?" Hearing that voice for sure it must be Suji

"Inside..wanna come?"

"Sure"

To be honest I haven't decided what to buy since I just wanted to stay away from the others that are clearly having fun outside and I'm still not hungry

"Soda is fine"

"Alright then, I'll be right back"

I nodded and looked outside well they seem to be having so much fun, to bad having fun with playing with the cold isn't my usual type of fun, I can see different people outside you can see couples and even kids. But the only view that captured me are five people whose laughters and giggles you can hear

They're also having fun—all of them have smiles in their faces you can clearly decipher the beautiful sound of their

Sojung, Yunseo and Yenwook all had their hair wet by the slowly melting snow, Eunha and Yewon leaning away as Yunseo shook his head towards them

But despite all of the laughter, I can't help but focus on Sojung—His face is more friendly looking than the last time I saw him, he seemed to be in a good mood this time but I shouldn't be fond with it who knows he might come back with that glaring eyes

"Who you looking at?"

As Suji came back interrupting the small conversation with myself she looked at the direction where I was looking, at that exact moment Sojung looked at us making me lowered my head afraid of what he'll look like

"Kim Sojung is looking at you"

"He..he doesn't look angry, does he?"

"No? Why would he be?" she said while giving my soda

"Did you two fight? Or something?"

"N-No!"

"I don't think he likes me.."

I still kept looking at the floor as if it's something satisfying to look

"The Kims don't really like everyone...well they don't really notice anyone enough to like them but he's still looking at you tho.."

"Stop looking at him!"

As I said that I snapped my head towards Suji who is laughing her off

"Ahahaha fine..fine, he's still staring"

"Sujiiii!!"

"Ahahahaha fine I'll stop..let's go get the others then?"

As we finally reached our classroom they already head to their own respective seat gladly mine is still empty than I expected— Mr. Lee was distributing each desks microscope and slides for us to do

The classroom is full of chit chats from each tables while I focus on my notebook scribbling nonsense to keep me occupied from the rest since we still have 20 minutes left before the actual start of class

10 minutes passed when I felt the chair next to mine moved lowkey reminding me to prepare myself from the glaring eyes I'm about to recieve....but maybe that's not what I thought—before I overthink more someone spoke to me

"Hello" said by a quiet, melodic voice

I stopped what I'm doing and pause for a second to look up at the boy beside me, frozen because he was speaking to me not just speaking but also SMILING.AT.ME...

He was sitting far away but he's body is angle towards me. His hair still little wet—disheveled, even so—it looks like he is done shooting a commercial for a shampoo

His face was friendly, innocent and a warm smile spread on his whole face—but his eyes were..guarded?

"My name is Kim Sojung, I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to formally introduce myself last week and specially for my rude behavior. You must be SinB?"

Am I dreaming? Can someone slap me or something? He was way polite now, I had to speak, Hwang Eunbi calm yourself he's waiting..Should I ask him why he was gone? Or should I ask why he was rude? No no

"H-How'd you know my name?"

He chuckled, softly

"Well everyone's been talking about you or do you..prefer Eunbi instead?"

"N-no!"

"I thought so" he chuckled which I find amusing

"Ladies first" He said pushing me the microscope "or should I start instead?"

"No, I'll start.." I said showing off a little bit
since I already studied this at my previous school. Sensing that our conversation is getting awkward I decided to ask why he was gone for the past few days

"You...were gone" I asked more likely stated

"Uh yeah, well I was out for a couple of days, due to uhm personal reasons"

So that's why he was gone..

"It's prophase"

"Mind if I check?" He said as I finished using the microscope

When he was reaching for the microscope our hands touch making me shiver—his hand were ice-cold it's like he was holding snow for a long time before he entered the class but that wasn't the reason why I jerked my hand away from the touch, but because it was like I was stunned by electric current that had passed through us

"I'm sorry" he retracted his hand away far from mine immediately and continued to reach for the microscope

I watched him, astonished, as he examined the slide way more shorter than I even imagined as if he just took a glanced at it

"Prophase" he agreed then write it on the paper after he switched the first to the second slide and then took another short look

"Anaphase.." he whispered, as he wrote it down

"May I?" I kept my tone down and calm

He smirked and pushed the thing towards me

I looked through the eyepiece carefully, and what I saw made me disappointed. Dang it, he was right

"Anaphase.."

"Like I said" he said smiling victoriously

"Slide three?" he asked smiling mischievously as if he was mocking me but instead I held out my hand without giving him a look, and handed it to me, carefully not to touch my skin again

"Metaphase" I passed him the microscope before he could ask for it, after he took another look he wrote it down again, I could also write it down but his elegant writings amazed me, and I don't want for him to see my clumsy hand writings

I for a short time we were already done, when I looked at the others, Hui and his partner kept looking at the two slide while Suji and the others had their notes open right next to them

Which left me no choice but to not look at him...as much as I want to...

But unfortunately that didn't happen because as I glanced up at him, he was already staring at me with the same look of frustration and confusion in his eyes.

"Are you wearing contacts?" I blurted out without much thought

Puzzled because of my sudden question he answered "No.."

"Sorry, it's just I thought there was something with your eyes" I continued to look at his eyes

He shrugged and looked away

I'm sure there was something different about them, I can still remember that same coal black eyes that was glaring at me when we first both met—a color that was striking against his pale skin and red colored hair. Today it was a completely different one: a golden tone. I didn't understand how could his eyes change unless he was lying about it

As I looked down, his hands were formed into a hard tightening fists again. Mr. Lee came to our desk to see how we were doing but to see nothing except complete awkward silence between us, he glanced at the complete lab and then stared to check our answers

"So, Sojung, how's Eunbi doing with the work?"

"SinB..actually she identified almost all of it, she's doing great"

"Is that so?"

Mr.Lee looked at me, with an expression looking amused

"Have you done this before?"

"Yes, well not with onion root"

"Were you in a advanced school academic program in Cheongju?"

"I suppose so, I guess"

"Well, It's a good thing I put you two as workmates then" after that he walked away and check the other's work

"I supposed that it's too bad about the snow, isn't it?"

For sure he was forcing himself to make a small talk with me

"I guess"

"You don't like the snow...or the wet things, aren't you?"

"You have no idea.."

"Why did you come here then?"

"Well it's kinda complicated"

"I think I can keep up"

"Uhm, well my mom and dad divorced"

"Very commonly for couple.."

"When did it happen?"

"Last September"

"So you chose to live with your dad"

"No, no it's mom, she has business at the States, despite all of that she seems unhappy, well she misses him"

"Then why didn't you come with her?"

I couldn't comprehend of how he was so interested about my life when there's nothing to be interesting about it, specially of how he keeps asking

"I decided to live with him ever since I lived with my mom from my whole 17 years"

"But now you're unhappy"

"Then?"

"That doesn't make sense.." he shrugged, but his eyes were still full of curiosity

I laughed dryly "has anyone told you, that life isn't fair?"

"I believe I used to hear that somewhere.."

"You seemed to put a good show"

"Why is that?"

"I'd be willing to bet that you're suffering more than you let people see"

I grimaced at the way he said that, resisting myself to not stick out my tongue like a kid

"Why do you even care? It's not like your involved with it"

"Good question" he chuckled, smirking

"Am I annoying you?"

I don't even know what to say about it since he blurted it out making me confused

"To be honest, I'm more annoyed to myself than anyone else..my face is too easy for people to read—my parents usually call me as their open book"

"While on the other hand, I find you very difficult to read" he smiled, all the words we exchanged, he seemed to meant it

"You must be a very good reader then"

"Usually" he joked

As he said that the bells started to ring, indicating the class has ended, Mr. Lee called for the students to pass their answers in order, at the corner of my eyes I could see him moving away from me again after our long conversation earlier—as he was griping the edge of his chair

After class was dismissed he sprung at his seat and headed to the door along the students, Suji coming at my desk

"Hey Bi! How's lab with Sojung?"

"Well, nothing new"

"That was hard, you were lucky you have Kim as your partner"

"I didn't have any trouble with it tho"

"So how did your confrontation go?"

"I don't know, he suddenly talked to me and sorry about what happened last time"

"What? So he did the first move?"

"I guess? Let's go"

"Alright"
