Saving contacts was a mere nature in owning a phone. Numbers of family and friends are archived for access if you ever want a one call away or a one text away. Naming contacts as another thing as the user has the right to decide what to address to each of them.

Chaewon and Eunbi were doing a VLive and one fan asked the universal question. 

How do you save each other’s contact name on your phones?

“For Eunbi-unnie…I save her contact as Eungbi eonni.” Chaewon spoke.

“In my case for Chaewon…it’s Woollim Kim Chaewon.”

“Too formal, unnie.” Chaewon pouted then spoke in front of camera. “Our formal leader, ladies and gentlemen.”

Eunbi chuckled and nudged Chaewon lightly. She spoke again as Chaewon scrolled the comments section to read. She saw comments on how formal Eunbi was and how sweet Chaewon was because of their contact names.

It may not be a big deal but for Chaewon, she couldn’t help but feel hurt. They’ve been training for so long yet Eunbi still addresses her as a fellow trainee. For her, Eunbi was more than just a fellow trainee. She was a leader, a big sister, and someone that Chaewon admired a lot.

She lets this be. It was just a contact name, after all.

A year passed and it was the Tingle interview. Chaewon and Eunbi were partnered, each sharing the basic stuff while doing ASMR content. After their individual interviews came the dual collaboration. Eunbi got to Chaewon, holding a folding chair, unfolding it, and sitting gently like she had body sores, leaving Chaewon to chuckle.

And thus, the universal question was asked first for each of them, starting off with Eunbi.

What do you have Chaewon saved as in your contacts?

Chaewon delivered a glare and Eunbi avoided it by laughing. Nonetheless, Eunbi answered. “Now…IZ’ONE’s Chaewon.”

Chaewon was stoned yet she reacted, almost toppling the device down. If WIZ*ONEs were listening, their ears would be in quite a shock.

“Ah…wait…” Chaewon tries to calm herself down, covered the ‘ears’, and whispered to Eunbi. “Unnie…why didn’t you change it?”

Eunbi couldn’t answer right away. Chaewon thought she was making excuses.

“I…I like simplicity.”

“Alright…” Chaewon pouted like a baby cheetah, sighing her defeat.

It was Chaewon’s turn and somehow, Eunbi perked up and asked. “What did you save me as?”

Chaewon had to move backward to burst her laughter. Eunbi just sighed, adding. “I’m disappointed…”

“Me? It’s just Eunbi eonni.”

“Wow~” Eunbi chuckled. “You didn’t even add IZ*ONE?”

“What?” 

“You didn’t add IZ*ONE in my name.”

“Doesn’t adding IZ*ONE feel cold?” Chaewon asked, eyes trying to give off a pouty vibe.

“No~ but we’re on the same team.”

Chaewon laughed again. Eunbi was still flustered, pointing at her dongsaeng. “She’s worse than me, right?”

Chaewon laughed again, thinking that the she meant to turn the tables to express the indirect disappointment she was feeling. The chuckles were evident but inside, her hurt was.

“I’m better. Why do you keep insisting?” Chaewon asked through her chuckles.

“No, I don’t…” Eunbi pouted. “Anyway, add some hearts.”

“Okay…but you have to add one to my name first.” 

The two came in agreement as they proceed to the next question. Chaewon might feel the hurt all over again but to the least, there was little progress.

Then again, she wasn’t letting this slip.

Being a leader was tough work but one objective was to always address her members’ concerns, especially when one of them just ignored her for three days straight.

It was unlikely for Chaewon to ignore. She had a look that could kill but she was never the one to not approach her members, especially when it came to Eunbi. But after a day of not responding to whatever Eunbi said, Chaewon was a silent brick wall towards the leader. Eunbi didn’t like the feeling and it was up to her to connect the dots.

It was the usual practice and part of Eunbi’s customs was to put their phones in a basket and that no one should touch theirs unless it was a break and unless the practices were over. They were practicing SSS for Inkigayo and during the break, Eunbi had a keen eye.

She saw Chaewon scrambling her hands on the basket with their phones.

Eunbi thought about it. When they did their VLive, she would notice Chaewon’s hand slowly getting her phone. During one break in the Tingle interview, Chaewon scurried her bag where her phone was. And now, she saw Chaewon getting both of their phones like a thief.

“Someone is stealing a phone~” Hyewon chanted.

Chaewon cussed and returned Eunbi’s phone. She walked away like nothing happened but the three unnies saw it with their own eyes.

“What was that about?” Sakura perked up as she and Hyewon shrugged.

Eunbi didn’t mind about it. She was understanding why Chaewon did that.

She didn’t change her contact name.

There were many possibilities to save a contact name and Eunbi couldn’t choose any of them. She was also like an old hag that forgot it most of the time and with her focus on being the group leader, she couldn’t dwell into those thoughts.

She called the members for practice again and maybe, she can have the idea someday.

It was the video call fansign. With the worsening pandemic, onsite fansigns were almost impossible to do. To resolve that dilemma, idols can interact with fans through video calls. 

Chaewon was enjoying herself talking to a fan until she got the universal question once again but stated differently.

Chaewon-ah, what name do you want to be saved in Eunbi’s contacts?

Chaewon thought for a while as it was an inner desire she wanted to happen in the reality. Knowing that there was limited time, she spoke.

“I want…the one and only sister Chaewon ♡.“

The fan thought it was cute. Chaewon even talked about her sentiments about the contact name incident and the fan eas eager to listen until the end. As Chaewon bids the fan farewell, she took a break.

Little did she know, Eunbi heard everything. After a face-off of compliments with Okzzang, she got her phone and edited the name. She puts her phone down, just in time for Chaewon to return and for her to talk to another fan.

For whatever it’s worth, she smiled about it. For now, she’ll have to keep it as a secret.

“Unnie, what name did you save for my contacts this time?”

Eunbi wondered of that question. It had been asked for so long yet Chaewon still wanted to discuss it in their date. Eunbi slurped her Americano and spoke. “The usual.”

“What do you mean The Usual?” Chaewon raised. “Come on, unnie. It’s almost two years. Why haven’t you changed it?”

“Because I can’t think of a good name.” Eunbi added as she ate her croissant.

Chaewon’s baby cheetah pout remained as she ate hers. Eunbi excused herself to wash her hands and Chaewon nodded while eating, pout still intact. But then, her instincts perked up and once Eunbi was out of sight, she grabbed her phone and checked her name.

It had the name she wanted. In fact, it was better. Chaewon couldn’t hold back a smile. She returns it to the normal screen, places it back, and smiled a lot.

Eunbi noticed the whole thing and Chaewon’s smile tugged her heartstrings towards the brim. Her smile came in an occasion and whenever it showed, Eunbi was going to keep it and never trade it with anything else.

“What’s with the face?” Eunbi asked as she returned.

“Nothing.” Chaewon returned her pout.

Eunbi reached to hold her hand and Chaewon’s pout remained but she was blushing. Nonetheless, Chaewon held back and they enjoy their date.
