Sakura was fiddling her wallet, almost crumpling it like it was paper. Hyewon felt her anger that she had to drive fast. Luckily, they arrived at the hospital. She even saw a familiar car and both of their vehicles raced to the entrance. The security team knew those vehicles that most of them approached to assist.

“Young Masters!” The security team bowed as they got out.

Sakura nodded and ran inside. Hyewon lets the head security guard park their cars and met the other person through a hug. “Love…”

“Hi.” Hyewon hugged her.

“Ugh! Get a room!” Nako hissed. “Thankfully, your wife was considerate to pick me up from the office.”

“You know Sakura couldn’t wait!” Hyewon spat at the midget as she was ready to throw hands.

“Enough, you two!” Their ears were pinched by Lee Corporation’s CEO.

Hyewon and Nako hissed as the other CEO got inside and was greeted by the staff. After all, she was the patient’s sister.

She was Kwon Eunbi; Lee Eunbi as she was welcomed into Chaeyeon’s family and Kang Eunbi as soon as she and Hyewon got married. She preferred to be called by her first given name because it was her real name; her true self. Despite not being a true Lee, she and Chaeyeon were sisters because of the same mother and she was welcomed by the family patriarch, Chairman Lee. She and Chaeyeon shared the strongest sisterly bond that they were there for each other at all times. They were so close that when Chaeyeon was chosen by Chairman Lee to become the heir of their company Lee Corp, Chaeyeon gave the title to Eunbi because she wanted to commit to her new business and her new family. Eunbi became controversial after Chaeyeon gave her the title and was ridiculed yet Eunbi proved herself to become the best CEO for their company. Chairman Lee himself was proud of her two daughters that anyone who ridiculed any of them or his family will suffer the consequences.

When she was suffering through her duties as CEO, Chaeyeon was there for her. And now when Chaeyeon got into an accident, Eunbi made sure to be there for her.

“What room is she in?!” She heard Sakura ask.

No one answered. The nurses were too drawn towards Sakura. They never thought that the chairwoman’s daughter was gorgeous. When Hyewon and Nako came in, everyone was silenced. Seeing the young master in the hospital was a force to be reckoned with.

But that was all wrong. It was Sakura who was a force to be reckoned with.

“Why is no one answering?!” Sakura spat, making the workers freeze. “Where. Is. My. Wife’s. Room?!!”

“Kkura – “

“No!” She snapped at Nako then faced the clerks again. “These lousy services are a disgrace to my mother’s hospital and the well-being of Chaeyeon!!” Sakura spat then glared. “No one has answered my concern. You are all incompetent!”

“B-But Miss – “

“All of you are fired!!” Sakura pointed at all of them.

The clerks were panicked and did their work immediately. Sakura wad ready to throw hands again when Eunbi and Hyewon stopped her. They understood Sakura’s plight yet it wasn’t the right way to address it.

“Kkura, enough. That is extremely unprofessional.” Eunbi demanded. “Chaeyeon would never want you to do that.”

Sakura gulped as she heard Eunbi say her name. Chaeyeon was a pure soul and would never hurt anyone, especially through harsh words. Sakura knew Eunbi was right. If Chaeyeon would’ve witnessed her angry side and of what she did to those scared clerks, she wouldn’t be pleased.

“Eun’s right, Kkura. Take it easy. I’ll handle it.” Hyewon spoke and got closer to the information desk, seeing the clerks on the brink of crying. “Sorry, girls. Mind me for the young master. She’s very worried about her wife and wants all of you to focus and be transparent. Now tell me where Miss Lee Chaeyeon’s room is.”

“R-Room 01-11…” One of them spoke, tearing up.

Sakura didn’t spare any time to apologize and ran off as soon as she heard the answer. Eunbi thanked them as she and Nako followed her, leaving Hyewon to console the clerks, saying that Sakura got carried away and that they’re not legally fired because only the chairwoman has a say to it. The clerks were eased and thanked Hyewon, leaving the COO to run like Flash just to catch up to the rest.

“Kkura, no!” A body rose up from her rest.

“Aaaand it’s 4:00 PM. Who won the bet?” Chaewon checked her watch.

“Hiichan’s the closest at 3:55.” Minju answered.

“Damn it, Hiichan! Every goddamn time!” Yuri huffed as everyone gave the smirking bread lover some cash.

“Boss!!” Wonyoung ran closer yet gently hugged Chaeyeon.

Yuri and Hitomi joined in, leaving Chaeyeon with confusion rather than relief. Chaewon and Minju chuckled at each other before stepping in and hugging their cousin-in-law back.

“Won…Yul…Hiichan…” Chaeyeon asked. “What are you three doing here? And why are you all in nurses’ attire?”

“We are interns in this hospital, Boss. We’re on-call so we only do hospital work when needed, which is why we work at the café all the time.” Wonyoung answered first.

“What happened to me?” Chaeyeon looked around.

“You got into a car accident, Boss. Some stupid driver of a black Ranger hit your scooter and causing you injuries.” Yuri spoke. “I could scold you right now, Boss. You should’ve come with us!”

“It was our first time doing a surgery, Boss. It’s like fate guided us to be interns to care for you. You had some injuries yet the backlash was curable.” Hitomi spoke.

“You looked fine on the outside but your insides were in critical condition.” Minju added. “Despite the inevitable, we were able to save you, Yeon.”

“Obviously,” said Chaeyeon, chuckling.

“Well, somebody’s having the side effects of surgery. Watch your ing tone.” Chaewon cussed, shocking the interns and causing Minju to laugh. “We just saved your life, you ungrateful little .” 

“Kidding, kidding~” Chaeyeon chanted then consoled the intern trio. “It’s alright, guys. This is normal for us. Chaewon and Minju can get cocky sometimes, just like their cousin.”

“Heol. Did you just diss your own husband, Yeon?” Minju asked then chuckled. “Wait till she hears that.”

“She has heard it many times and she still loved me, just as much as I love her.” Chaeyeon remarked.

Chaewon and Minju laughed with Chaeyeon. The trio joined in afterward although their minds were conflicted.

“This must be an effect of the anesthesia.” Hitomi whispered to Yuri and Wonyoung.

“And I can’t believe you influenced my pure staff in making bets about your patients!” Chaeyeon huffed. “They’re my innocent babies!”

The trio whined and gently hugged their boss. Chaewon whispered while pointing at Minju. “She did it.”

“Hey!” Minju mouthed back.

“Wait! What about Sakura?!” Chaeyeon averted towards worry while the trio had to calm her down.

“What about her?!” Chaewon batted back then made a peace sign as a sign of a joke. “She would know already, Yeon. Your husband will always know of what happens to you and now…” She sighed. “…she’d be pissed.”

“Is Miss Sakura the Big Boss, Boss?” Wonyoung asked Chaeyeon.

Chaeyeon nodded and had to rest because she was still in the effect of anesthesia. Her eyes were open and she was confused. “Ssamu, Min…is she here now?”

Just as she asked, the doors burst open. Chaeyeon and the medical staff saw the four women in suits and had various reactions. The intern trio bowed, the married nurses waved, and Chaeyeon slowly got up with a shocked look as one of the four women rushed to her side, hugging her.

“Jjaeyeon…” Sakura sighed hard as she was teary and running to hug her. “…thank goodness you’re safe…”

“Kkura…” Chaeyeon hugged back crying. “Kkura, I’m so sorry for being in harm.”

“No, no…it’s not your fault. You’re a good driver and we all know that.” Sakura whispered back. “I’ll make the suspect pay for what he or she has done.”

Hyewon coughed hard that the main married couple had to break from the moment. The intern trio adored them, the pair of couples were calm, and Nako did a vomiting gesture. Sakura regained a professional gesture and had a chance to greet Chaeyeon’s employees.

“Nice to finally meet you, Big Boss.” Wonyoung spoke as Yuri and Hitomi had wide eyes at the giant. 

“Nice to meet you too. Jo Yuri, Honda Hitomi, and Jang Wonyoung, right?” Sakura spoke and guessed their names, getting nods and smiles back. “I heard you helped Chaewon and Minju for Chaeyeon’s surgery. I can’t thank you three enough.”

“She wasn’t like this with the other employees.” Hyewon whispered to the rest. “She almost threw a fit and almost fired them.”

“I heard you, Kwangbae.” Sakura crossed her arms. “How can I not throw a fit when my wife’s in danger?”

“Kkura, is that true?” Chaeyeon asked, growing teary. “Don’t fire them. They need jobs for their families.”

Hyewon smirked and looked away, whistling. Everyone adored Chaeyeon’s pure soul that Eunbi got to her left as Sakura was on her right, telling the truth as transparent as she could. Sakura was also guilty about what she did earlier and assured everyone that she will apologize to the clerks.

“Anyway, what’s Chaeyeon’s health status?” Sakura asked the medical staff within the circle.

Hitomi, Wonyoung, and Yuri did the honors of explaining everything to everyone. Chaewon and Minju helped them explain as Eunbi, Hyewon, Nako, and Sakura grasp the information in their own way. Chaeyeon was listening and was almost on the brink of sleep when she got up again, shocking everyone and making Sakura draw closer to her.

“So this metal rod, this cervical colar, and this bandage around my head are my injuries despite being uhh…” Chaeyeon broke speech that Sakura and Eunbi gently patted her cheek so she can resume. “…less affected?”

“Yes, Boss.” The trio nodded.

“Delightful.” Chaeyeon mumbled then looked at everyone around her. “Thank you all for being here and taking care of me.”

“Come on, Boss. It’s a manifestation of our care towards you.” Hitomi spoke.

“Agreed.” Nako added.

“You two look good together.” Hyewon pointed them out.

“Kwangbae!” The Lee-Kim family of the circle spat and Hyewon made a peace sign.

“However…” Chaewon cuts them off while Minju showed the MRI results of Chaeyeon’s brain. “…Chaeyeon’s cerebral cortex may have suffered a minor dent. For the next few days, she might have manifestations such as speech loss from earlier, confusion, and sudden traumas of the incident.”

Eunbi grew worried about her sister – everyone did, especially Sakura. Sakura took it more seriously because she wanted what’s best for Chaeyeon and to bring justice on her side of the incident.

All of the talk was disrupted as Chaewon got a call, excusing herself from the rest. Chaeyeon was laid back down by Eunbi and Sakura since she was getting tired.

“You’ll be fine, love.” Sakura whispered to her. “You need to rest, okay? I’ll take care of everything.”

“Okay. We need to leave.” Chaewon held Minju’s hand. “We have to deal with the other victim of the accident. Jang, Jo, Honda, you got this?”

“Yes!” They saluted.

“Hey. Let me have the chance to talk to the suspect.” Sakura demanded, ironic given that she was gently patting Chaeyeon’s head to sleep. “I’m not going to let the fault slip!”

“After the recovery, Kkura.” Minju emphasized. “We need to emphasize this because we know your tendency. As much as we need to resolve this, we have to follow procedures.”

“Min’s right, Kkura. Please. Not in front of her friends and not in front of Chaeyeon.” Eunbi spoke.

“Okay. Once the guy or girl recovers – “

“The suspect is a guy, Big Boss.”

“Thank you, Wonyoung.” Sakura added. “Once the ing guy recovers, tell me right away.”

“Language.” Hyewon and Eunbi pointed out.

“Alright.” Chaewon sighed as she and Minju went.

Everyone went silent as Chaewon and Minju left. Eunbi noticed how tensed the intern trio were that she nudged Sakura. “Kkura, let’s sit on the couch. We have to let Hitomi, Wonyoung, and Yuri do their job.”

Sakura nodded and slowly released, adding a kiss on Chaeyeon’s forehead. The trio thanked Eunbi and got a smile and thumbs-up from her. The four businesswomen shared the couch as they watched the trio check on Chaeyeon. Sakura was on close watch towards Chaeyeon, Nako and Hyewon went out to treat their circle of friends dinner, and Eunbi remained with Sakura to watch over everything.

“Wonyoung?” Sakura asked as the latter finished her task. “How did you know that the suspect was a guy?”

“My girlfriend and Yuri’s girlfriend are policewomen, Big Boss. They picked us up from work through their police car and during the journey, they got a call from the station about an accident.” Wonyoung began, intriguing Sakura and Eunbi to listen. 

“They were supposed to drive us home but with the call, they had to do a detour towards the location of the accident. When we got there, we saw Boss unconscious on the ground. Her scooter was damaged on one side, her helmet was on, and she had a gash on her arm.” Yuri joined in. “She was hit by a black Ranger.”

“Jesus…” Eunbi face-palmed as Sakura felt enraged. “Can you get your girlfriends to come here?”

“Wait.” Sakura spoke. “Are your girlfriends SP Choi Yena and SP Ahn Yujin?”

Wonyoung and Yuri nodded, just in time for a knock on the door. They went to open it and greeted the people outside with a hug.

“The world is small, after all.” Eunbi mumbled.

Another timing was met as Hyewon and Nako returned from buying food. They stopped by to greet the people before heading to Chaewon’s office to store the food in her office’s pantry. The two women entered and greeted Eunbi and Sakura.

“SP Choi Yena and SP Ahn Yujin.” Sakura shook both of their hands. “I apologize for my rudeness a while ago.”

“It’s alright, Mrs. Miyawaki.” Yena managed to have her professional aura back despite being scared of Sakura, especially during that call. “We just finished settling the process of this investigation. General tasked us to come here.”

“He’ll also catch up, ma’am.” Yujin spoke.

“Alright. Shall we settle this somewhere else?” Sakura asked.

They nodded. The intern trio stayed to watch over Chaeyeon as the rest went out. Hyewon and Nako caught up and joined them. 

“Any report on who the suspect is?” Sakura asked the police as Eunbi called to reserve a conference room for them.

 
“We have the report, Mrs. Miyawaki. General has given us the authority to conduct the interrogation for your wife and the suspect.” Yena added. “But we must talk about it in the conference room.”

“We got the reservation set. Chaewon will join us in a moment and – “

“Sakutan!” They reacted as a woman was already by the conference room’s door.

“Chairwoman!” Everyone bowed while Sakura approached her. “Okaasan – “

“Don’t Okaasan me.” She pinched Sakura’s ear. “I heard from Ssamu that you almost fired my staff!”

The strong CEO became meek in front of her mother, wincing of the pain and whining to be released. The police were speechless, Eunbi face-palmed, and Hyewon and Nako turned around while laughing silently.

“Okaasan, I was worried about Jjaeyeon! They wouldn’t tell me where she is! I was angry and worried!” Sakura huffed. “Please let me go. This is embarrassing!”

“Control your temper next time. You’re just like your father.” She huffed then greeted the others. “Good to see all of you. I’m Miyawaki Sara; chairwoman of M Hospital.”

All of them shook hands with her then they got inside the room. They got to their preferred seats as Yujin presented a file, explaining it to them.

“Lee Chaeyeon got into a car accident at 6:45 PM. The SMPA have conducted the investigation with Inspector Lee’s leadership. We, SP Choi and SP Ahn came to interrogate the witnesses, the victim, and the suspect.”

“Who is the said suspect, officers?” The chairwoman asked.

“His name is Kim Chanjo. He’s known as the son of Commissioner General Kim Chanyoung.” Yena spoke. “His father is the highest ranking official of the country’s National Police Agency and to be completely honest, pressing charges on his son can have serious consequences.”

“But his son harmed my wife!” Sakura snapped again. “He drove recklessly and hit my wife without any hesitation! He committed a crime!”

“It was reported that he was a drunk driver, Mrs. Miyawaki. He had a bottle of whiskey on the side of his car.” Yujin spoke. “General Miyawaki had to do further confirmartion and inform General Kim about his son’s misdeed.”

“My daughter’s right, officers. Shouldn’t be the one at fault be accountable for the crimes one committed?” The chairwoman asked. “We care nonetheless of who the person is. We know that he did harm to my daughter-in-law so he must be held accountable.”

“Of course, Chairwoman.” Yena and Yujin nodded. “We’ll do what must be done.”

Chaewon was outside together with Minju and a old yet good-looking male in a police uniform. Everyone got up to greet them, even Yujin and Yena saluted. He saluted back and greeted everyone with a bow. He got to his wife and hugged her.

“General!” Yujin and Yena were still standing.

“Sit down, you two.” General Miyawaki Shouji spoke and sat in between his wife and daughter.

“Otousan…”

“It’s okay, Sakutan. We’ll resolve this.” He added a pat on her back. “This will be difficult, Choi, Ahn. General Kim didn’t respond yet.”

“Will it be okay to press charges, sir?” Yena asked.

“It’s our duty, Choi. We shall not wait for the response and do the interrogation as soon as possible.” He demanded. “Ssamu said that the suspect is very much awake. We will interrogate him and Jjaeyeon in a few hours.”

“Can’t Jjaeyeon be excluded from this, Otousan?” Sakura asked. “She has more injuries compared to the suspect! She needs to rest!”

“Procedure is procedure, Sakuratan.” The general spoke sternly, silencing everyone. “It must be done so the investigation will be closed sooner.”

“It must be done immediately, Kkura.” Chaewon added. “The said Kim Chanjo is a son of a .”

General Miyawaki made everyone stand up and move in order to conduct the interrogation. Chaewon and Minju arranged the largest hospital room and have tasked their subordinates to skid both patients to the said room. Everyone saw the figures passing by and greeted them family with long bows. The police wowed silently as they realize that the Miyawaki family was a force to be reckoned with.

They arrived at the said room. A table was set for Yena and Yujin as chairs were lined up behind for the family. The beds were next to each other where one had Chaeyeon sleeping soundly while the other hand Chanjo scratching his wound despite the protests from the doctors, especially from Minju. The intern trio will also remain to testify.

The other medical staff left, leaving the family, the officers, the intern trio, and the suspect inside. The officers and the family got to their seats as the intern trio gently patted Chaeyeon awake. Hitomi remained on her side as Wonyoung and Yuri faced their girlfriends, starting the interrogation.

Their answer was the same story they explained to the director, to the head surgeon, and to the Big Boss and her sister. Yena and Yujin also know and validate their stories since they were with them.

“Ridiculous. Those stories are bull.” Chanjo scoffed. “It was her fault! Why would someone drive a scooter on the main road?!”

Everyone wanted to combust. Sakura had it worst as she had to take every fiber of her being to resist herself in punching the out of his disgusting face.

“He’s…lying…” Chaeyeon mumbled, shocking everyone. “He drove…on the wrong side of the road. He also…didn’t use his signal light properly…”

“You wrecked my car, you !” Chanjo spat and pointed at the police in the room. “You think you fools can arrest me on a crime I didn’t commit?! If my father knows about this, you are all going to pay!”

“He already knows, you stupid .” Yena hissed as she had lost her cool. “And so what if he did? You hit a civilian! You should be arrested for involving an innocent life to your misdeed and for breaking the law!”

“What evidence do you have, anyway?” Chanjo scoffed. “There’s no surveillance – “

Yujin raised an eyebrow as she showed pictures of his wrecked car and the interior, showing a bottle of whiskey on the cup holder. “Drunk driving, .”

“Your car crashed close to a junction. Suggesting from the impact, you were over-speeding.” 

“Lies!” Chanjo spat. “I am not at fault here. She is!” She pointed at Chaeyeon. “If there’s a verdict for this, she should be in prison!”

“You son of a !!” Sakura lost it and charged at him.

Her father and the two policewomen stopped her from raging. Hyewon and Nako try to calm her down as the medical staff went to the patients because both were agitated. Chaeyeon was the main priority because her breathing is unstable. Chanjo whined as he wasn’t serviced yet Chaewon just called some staff to do the task. And of such timing, the staff came with the General Kim. The three police bowed then saluted at him.

“Dad~!!” Chanjo whined. “Look what they did to me!”

General Kim smacked his son’s head, shutting him up completely. He faced the larger family and General Miyawaki steps in for their family.

“I received your texts and your calls, Miyawaki. The reason I didn’t reply or answer was because on how you settled that matter.” He began. “You assigned two SPs for this investigation and not an inspector? Even your lieutenant?”

“They are bare witnesses to the incident, General. It would be best to let them handle it.”

“With all due respect, General Kim…” Sakura intervened, shocking the witnesses. “…your son was a reckless driver and has harmed my wife. The evidences are obvious – even the witnesses testified. I will not hesitate to speak what is right and just. Your son broke the law and must accountable for his actions.”

Everyone was stunned. Sakura wasn’t a woman to bluff. Her love for Chaeyeon was keeping her strong and just for this situation. And when Chaeyeon mumbled her name before resting, Sakura’s fists clenched behind her.

“Alright. Let’s settle this in court.”

General Kim left the hospital room. Chanjo was left smirking and said, “Easy win for us.”

Chanjo would’ve gotten a broken nose when he suddenly lost consciousness. Hitomi was the culprit as she increased his dextrose dosage to shut him up.

“Otousan, Okaasan…” Sakura spoke. “…do we really need a hearing for this?”

“It’s procedure, Sakuratan. We need to keep the peace in this.” Her father spoke. “and as bad as it sounds, there will be tendencies of crookedness in the system.”

“True. General Kim has connections with the country’s judiciary system. He might use his power against us,” said Yujin.

“That’s unfair!” Wonyoung spat as she was shocked like Yuri and Hitomi. “I can’t believe it!”

“It happens, Wonyoung. The only thing that makes life unfair is the delusion that it should be fair.” Chaewon spoke.

“This and his father are living in the delusion, that’s for sure.” Hitomi mumbled.

“General, Chairwoman…what shall we do about this?” Eunbi asked.

“Choi, Ahn, we’ll be doubling our works for this investigation. I’ll tell Inspector Lee that her unit will be of help.” General Miyawaki spoke. “Eunbi-chan, you will help Hyewon-chan and Nako-chan settle in calling back our trusted law firms.”

“And for us here in M Hospital, we’ll take care of the patients. I’ll also inform the Lees about the situation.” The chairwoman added.

“What about me?” Sakura asked.

“Be by Chaeyeon’s side. She needs you more than ever.”

Everyone agreed to what Sakura's parents said. They called it a day and everyone disseminated out of the room to return to their normal businesses. Hitomi remained to check on the patients as Sakura grabbed a chair to stay by Chaeyeon’s side. She also ordered Nako to remain so Hitomi won’t feel awkward.

“Out of all people, why me?” Nako asked.

“Because I refuse to let Hitomi be tensed.” Sakura spoke.

“T-That’s kind of you, Mrs. Miyawaki – “

“Call me Sakura, Hitomi.” Sakura spoke. “Anyone who has played an integral part of my wife’s life deserves my respect. You, Yuri, and Wonyoung are part of our circle now.”

Hitomi was flattered and confused yet Nako explained things to her. Hitomi understood and thanked them with a bow. 

“Don’t forget the policewomen, Boss.” Nako added. “They’re partners of Hitomi’s friends plus they’ve helped General with the investigation.” 

Sakura nodded. It went silent until Chaeyeon groaned. All of them checked on her as Hitomi called for Wonyoung and Yuri while starting the procedures. Wonyoung and Yuri returned to help Hitomi until Chaeyeon was stable. For interns, Sakura and Nako were impressed with their professionalism.

It was that fire that ignited in their souls. They were going to do everything in their capability to help their kind Boss.

“Kkura…” Chaeyeon mumbled.

“We’ll leave you alone, Big Boss.” Wonyoung spoke.

Sakura nodded and thanked her. She watched them leave the room so she can have her time with Chaeyeon. She held Chaeyeon’s hand to kiss it gently as she saw Chaeyeon slowly waking up.

“Kkura…” Chaeyeon tried to reach for her.

“Hi…” Sakura adjusted so Chaeyeon can hug her while lying down. “You can hug me like this.”

“Love…I’m sorry…” Chaeyeon sniffled. “I made everyone worry. I made you worry.”

Sakura comforted her as she was teary. Chaeyeon was Sakura’s everything and she will always share every emotion Chaeyeon felt. Sakura thought that Chaeyeon was blaming herself for getting hurt but Sakura assured her that she wasn’t at fault. She heard her friends defend her and she knew herself that her wife was never a reckless being.

That . That is at fault.

Sakura thought that as she lulled Chaeyeon to rest while glaring at the unconscious Chanjo. Chaeyeon might be safe but such actions might’ve happened. If it were the case the opposite happened, Sakura will lose it.

Which is why, she promised to herself and to Chaeyeon that the of a general’s son will pay for what he’s done.
