Gemini (KkuChaen)

The Backwards Law.

It was a concept by Alan Watts. It was a mere reminder to us of who we are, that there’s a tendency of opposition towards one another. It’s a catalyst to why lands were divided, to why power is sought by the majority, and to why there’s a caste system in almost every aspect of our lives.

Such was the case for institutions like IZONE University. If one had a dollar for writing a satire about this, then one would’ve been rich already. But that richness is incomparable to six students being ignored by the majority as they walk down the hallway like it’s their runway.

Pollux. They were a team of six from Section A and all of them looked simple but acted like civilized thugs.

“What are you six doing?”

Pollux faced another group with the same number of heads, the same uniforms, and the same feel. The only difference would be the bands around their arms.

Castor. They were also a team of six from Section A and all of them looked grand but acted like civilized dictators.

Their leaders drew forward and had a staring contest. Their fellow groups cheered as the rest of the students watched them.

“What’s your business in walking the hallways, Lee Chaeyeon?” The leader of Castor spoke.

“I’d ask the same thing, President Miyawaki Sakura.” Chaeyeon, the leader of Pollux, snapped back. “Isn’t it your alignment to become good examples in this school?”

The students mumbled. Pollux were on fire today and Chaeyeon wasn’t backing out in dying that fire. Sakura smirked and added. “You’re right. We’d never settle lowly on people like you.”

The reactions doubled as Castor called if quits since the teacher was coming. Pollux also called it quits and went to their seats.

Pollux and Castor were twins that made up the Gemini constellation but in IZONE University, they were twins divided by the system and their own principles. With this in mind, the certainty of union and alternating power were scarce.

But what’s wrong in hoping that two contradictions make one understanding?

“Lee for three!”

What a rhyme and what a good time to win a school athletics match. Students cheered, coaches were having a handshake of a good game, and a team was doing their choreographed victory dance despite their energy.

“Our team has done it again!” A small girl applauded as she approached the winning team.

“Thanks, Nako-ya~” All of them spoke as they had their turns patting her head.

Yabuki Nako was her name. She was Pollux’s smallest but also the feistiest. Despite not being part of the dance club nor the basketball club, she shone greatly in the Glee Club for her cute vocal range. She ranked 6th in the whole school and was a good linguist. Despite her influence, she was the most bullied.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 ballet theater, she had a feisty nature, and she had five knights that protect and spoil her.

“Barbecue! Barbecue!” The vice-captain cheered.

“We’ll have some later.” Nako replied. “I’m sure Chaeyeon will treat.”

Kang Hyewon was her name. She was Pollux’s healthiest but also the hungriest. Despite being part of the dance club nor the basketball club, she never dieted and never missed three meals and two snacks. She ranked 8th in the whole school and was a good mathematician. Despite her tranquility, she was the most rowdy.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 fast-food chain, she had a calm yet demeaning nature, and she had members and a captain to guide her.

“Can we also play games at your house, Cap?” A duck whined and knelt. “Please?”

“Okay, Yena.” Chaeyeon nodded. “But if you cheat, you won’t get to touch my consoles ever again.”

Choi Yena was her name. She was Pollux’s dorkiest but also the wisest. Despite being part of the theater club because of her humor, she never missed being part of the dance club, the basketball team, and the philosophy club. She ranked 4th in the whole school and was a good debater. Despite her idiocy, she was the most sagacious.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 law firm, she had a funny yet serious nature, and she had members that bring a smile on her face.

“Don’t forget me!” A tall puppy barked as they all went to the shower rooms. “I want to beat Yena on her game.”

“Sure, Yujin.” Hyewon said as she showered.

Ahn Yujin was her name. She was Pollux’s slowest but also the fittest. Despite having a young personality, she was an ace of various clubs. She ranked 5th in the whole school and was a good vlogger. Despite her hyperactivity, she was the most calm.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 entertainment label, she had a young and inquisitive nature, and she was diligent to obey her members.

“Hey, Yeon! Can I have some soap?”

“Jeez, Chaewon…” Chaeyeon spoke as she tossed a bar over a cubicle. “You’re supposed to own a whole factory of these and you don’t have a bar for yourself.

Kim Chaewon was her name. She was Pollux’s cutest but also the fiercest. Despite being a woman who looks like a ball of fluff in the Glee club, she was also the opposite by being part of the dance club and the basketball team. She ranked 10th in the whole school and was a good singer. Despite her sophistication, she was the most direct.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 beauty product manufacturer, she had a dual nature, and she was always caring to her members.

The showers and changing were over and the team was greeted by fans outside the court. But then, Chaeyeon stopped everyone and pointed that all of them escape on the back. They followed her through the fences and they got out of  the campus.

All of them cheered and shared hi-fives except for the captain herself for she was walking ahead while talking to her sister on the phone.

Lee Chaeyeon was her name. She was Pollux’s strongest but also the simplest. Despite being a woman who looks like a main character of a typical love story, she was the captain of the dance club and the basketball team. She ranked 12th in the whole school and was a good leader. Despite her simplicity, she was the most powerful.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 educational institution, she had a perceptive nature, and she was always prioritizing her members.

“Hey! Aren’t those Castor?” Chaewon stopped and pointed at a fancy restaurant.

It was Pierre Gagniere à Seoul, the most luxurious restaurant in all of Seoul. It was known for its French cuisine, its large stock of wine, and its very strict dress code of smart and business casual attire.

It was also the restaurant where Castor were doing their group study.

“Fancy.” Chaewon said.

“Can we also dine there?” Yena asked. “I’m getting hungry.”

“We don’t have the attires, . Even Nako can’t get inside with her uniform,” said Yujin.

“It may be grand but the food’s not that good.” Chaeyeon commented. “Let’s have pork belly and ramyeon.”

Her friends cheered and raced to a restaurant opposite of Pierre Gagniere à Seoul. For Chaeyeon, she would’ve led the team but she was still in her place.

Her gaze was on Castor, especially on a particular cherry blossom.

Hyewon called her out of the zone and Chaeyeon followed.

+++

“Kkura!”

Good steak, good wine, and a good group study. What a time for geniuses of a student council to be productive. But in the case of a cherry blossom, she was frozen as met the eyes of the least person she would want to look at.

“Kkura, what’s wrong?” A cheeky member asked as she ate some garlic bread.

“I spaced out a bit, Hitomi…”

Honda Hitomi was her name. She was Castor’s cheekiest but also the gentlest. Despite being part of the gymnastics club and the cheerleading club, she shone greatly in the student council as Auditor. She ranked 9th in the whole school and was a good gymnast. Despite her flexibility, she was the most impatient.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 sports camp, she had a demeaning nature, and she had the officers to calm her.

“Is something bothering you?”

“None, Eunbi.” Sakura spoke. “I just got distracted.

Kwon Eunbi was her name. She was Castor’s busiest but also the laziest. Despite being part of the dance club, she missed most of the workshops and focused in the student council as Vice President. She ranked 7th in the whole school and was a good dictator. Despite her demeanor, she was the most sensitive.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 psychiatric facility, she had an uncontrolled nature, and she had her officers as her pillars of emotion.

“I believe I can fly~ I believe I can touch the sky.”

“Yuri.” Sakura took her earphones. “You’re into the song to much.”

Jo Yuri was her name. She was Castor’s softest but also the loudest. Despite being the star of the Glee club, she shone greatly in the broadcasting club and student council as PIO. She ranked 3rd in the whole school and was a good announcer. Despite her voice, she was the most misinformed.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 broadcasting station, she had a spoken nature, and she had officers that listened to whatever she said and sung.

Are you sure it’s nothing?

Yes. Sakura spoke in fluent English. “Don’t pressure me on the language, Wonyoung. That was all I got!”

Jang Wonyoung was her name. She was Castor’s jolliest but also the smartest. Despite not being part of physically based clubs, she was the university’s soul and was the student council’s Treasurer. She ranked 1st in the whole school and was a good smartass. Despite her intelligence, she was the most dense.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 airline company, she had an innocent nature, and she had officers that baby her.

“Ah! Hot!” A frog fanned full of steak.

“Minju, you’re at it again~” Sakura teased as the other member’s laughed.

Kim Minju was her name. She was Castor’s prettiest but also the clumsiest. Despite not being part of most clubs, her face was the center of the university’s tarps and was the student council’s Secretary. She ranked 11th in the whole school and was a good model. Despite her beauty, she was the most varied.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 clothesline, she had a pleasant nature, and she had officers she cared the most.

They relaxed from their studying and eating. As much as they had to, it was ceased when Eunbi had her eyes looking outside.

The rowdy Pollux crossed a busy street and were walking like thugs. For Sakura, the look of less class was disturbing but one of them was very casual. She felt something on her chest. She couldn’t believe they faced each other again. Her gaze at that person made the rest wonder.

Miyawaki Sakura was her name. She was Castor’s shaggiest but also the greatest. Despite being only part of the IT club, she made her name in the student council as President. She ranked 2nd in the whole school and was a good gamer. Despite her technicalities, she was the most generalized.

Her secret? She was an heir to Korea’s #1 IT company, she had an logical nature, and she had her officers that she would always guide in their endeavors.

“What a bunch…” Hitomi said and clicked her tongue thrice. “Good thing we’re more civilized.”

“True.” All of them spoke, except for Sakura.

“We should study again.” Minju added.

Castor resumed doing their academic work yet Sakura watched the said person walk ahead. Eunbi called her out of the zone and Sakura resumed her studies with the rest.

Another day came in IZONE University and Castor became the main attraction to all students and faculty. Being the student council, elites, and geniuses in their school, no one would ignore them. They would be given lots of praises…

…except for Pollux.

The six made way towards the crowd and got to their seats. Some students would boo and return to their rooms but their fans stayed to ogle.

“Such a disturbance, though.” Minju pointed out.

Sakura would’ve gone out to scold them but Chaeyeon was ahead of her and spoke to them in a calm manner. The fans were obedient to respect their privacy and not disturb the class, leaving the area.

The students were impressed. Chaeyeon went back to her seat and slumped much to Sakura’s dismay.

“Looks like the President’s been snapped off of her authority.”

Chaeyeon and Sakura shut their classmate, causing their inner consciences to be flustered. Sakura returned to her seat again and calmed herself down.

For Chaeyeon, her eyes glued onto her as she couldn’t help a smile before slumping on her desk.

+++

Chaeyeon was walking home after a good practice with basketball and dance. She got to the exit when she saw Sakura talking to the school’s director. The sight made her clench her fist as she drew closer.

“Good job on you services, Miss Miyawaki.” The director said, shaking hands with her. “We should have dinner with the board sometime.”

Chaeyeon scoffed and got their attention. She looked at the director intently and said, “Wow. The cherry blossoms gets to eat dinner with you and I don’t. May I join in, Director Lee Chaeho?”

Director Lee paid no heed and excused himself from Sakura. Chaeyeon just shrugged and went on her way when Sakura was in front of her.

“What?” Chaeyeon raised. “Don’t you have tutorials to get to, Sakura?”

“You’re savage from someone so simple. You even have the guts to disrespect Director Lee.”

“And what are you gonna do about it, cherry blossom?” Chaeyeon asked as she inched closer. “Are you gonna report me?”

Sakura was flustered again. It wasn’t because of the remarks but how Chaeyeon’s face was so close to hers. Chaeyeon grinned as she ran away, leaving Sakura to yell. “Yah! Lee Chaeyeon!”

“What now?” Chaeyeon asked. “Do you want to come with me?”

Sakura threatened to throw her shoe and Chaeyeon sprinted away. Sakura also exited the school and walked to her tutoring house when Chaeyeon ran backward and was beside her. “Ey~ you’re following me~”

“No, I’m not!” Sakura batted. “Maybe you’re the one following me!”

“Me following you?” Chaeyeon asked then puked.

Sakura would’ve given a right hook when Chaeyeon dodged it and did her famous shoot. Sakura rolled her eyes and walked ahead yet her heart thought that it was cool.

Within their awkward walk, they got to Sakura’s tutoring house. Sakura went inside but she looked back to see Chaeyeon waiting.

“This is the time we bid farewell.” Sakura did a wave. Goodbye.

Is that all you can say to me, Sakura? Chaeyeon spoke and waved nonetheless. The moon shall rise again, my beautiful cherry blossom.

Sakura couldn’t believe she was hearing. The simple Lee Chaeyeon spoke English fluently better than her of Wonyoung.

“What did that mean?” Sakura asked.

“Deuces, .” Chaeyeon spoke while doing peace signs.

Sakura was ready to smack her again when Chaeyeon ran off and waved goodbye. Sakura went in with a change of emotion and Chaeyeon ran with a large grin on her face.

Both looked like opposites, even their antics were the same as Pollux and Castor. Their two opposite reactions were obvious but their hearts impacted one thing.

They liked each other.

Will there ever be a chance that the school’s society will know that?

Hey! Rumor has it that Yabuki Nako and Honda Hitomi are together!

Our Auditor together with that small loser? Get real!

“Say that again, idiot.” Yujin went to choke the gossiper.

The class fell silent as their gossiper begged for mercy. Yujin scoffed and aimed to punch her when a hand stopped her fist and another held her shoulder.

“No fighting allowed.” Wonyoung spoke as she lowered Yujin’s fist.

“She’s right, AhnYu. Let go,” said Chaeyeon.

Yujin calmed for their sakes bug she inched towards the gossipers face. “Say something about Nako again and I’m gonna break your headlights.”

“I’ll also sue you for bullying,” said Yena.

“And you deal with me.” Chaeyeon added as her face went dim. “If you speak gossip again, I’m gonna kill you…”

The class was silent and the gossiper became quiet. The student council reprimanded them to behave and return to  their seats. When Nako and Hitomi arrived together, the class said nothing about the rumor. Yujin and Wonyoung were seated as Chaeyeon went out for fresh air.

For some reason, Sakura made an excuse to go follow her, leading herself to the rooftop. Sakura got out and felt the breeze. She then saw Chaeyeon by the rails, taking a breather.

“I know you’re following me, Sakura.”

Sakura was ed but she remained her cool. “I wanted to make sure you don’t pull a stunt like in the classroom.”

“So is protecting a friend from gossip a stunt?” Chaeyeon asked back. “Imagine if Hitomi was ridiculed. Would you just sit there and do nothing?”

Sakura was speechless. Chaeyeon then faced her, saying. “You shouldn’t be here. This place is off limits.”

“What makes you say that? Do you own the school?” Sakura raised back.

“Yes and no?” Chaeyeon spoke and decided to go back.

Sakura was shocked again but followed Chaeyeon nonetheless. When they arrived at the classroom, their members were worried for their leaders. They were even shocked to see Chaeyeon and Sakura going in together but unlike the other students, they had guts to react.

“You okay, Kkura?” Eunbi asked. “What did Chaeyeon do?”

“Hey. Our captain wouldn’t do anything stupid.” Hyewon added then said. “Did you go to the rooftop again, Cap?”

“Yeah. If I didn’t, I would’ve punched this gossiper.” Chaeyeon pointed at her, seeing her shake and bow to apologize.

“There’ll be no ruckus in this classroom, got that?” Sakura reprimanded everyone.

They all respond a yes. For Pollux, they looked at each other, shrugged, and slumped on their desks.

+++

IZONE University would’ve been a normal institution but as the days went by, rumors were created and secrets were slowly revealed. Nako and Hitomi’s alleged dating wasn’t the only thing anymore. Many more talks came in which revolved on a ranking result, more alleged dating, and revealing the true powerful students in the campus.

Top 6 was fitted by 12 students, causing a ruckus created by fangirls and gossipers. For Castor and Pollux, it created more tension.

“Me tied with you?” Wonyoung asked. “Impossible!”

Yujin didn’t bat and calmly said, “What’s wrong in being tied with you? It shouldn’t be an issue, that’s for sure.”

The youngest of the two teams debated while the rest of them stayed silent because one, their ranks went up and two, debating was a waste of time.
It wasn’t the case for Sakura that she stormed off. Chaeyeon had a keen sight that she followed her.

“Stop following me, you cheater.” Sakura cussed.

“Ouch. You jumping to conclusions too seriously.” Chaeyeon commented as she walked by her side. “I am a human being. Of course, I use my brain.”

“Don’t you dare lecture me, 12th placer.” Sakura snapped at her. “The rankings are a mistake. There’s no way I tied to a normal girl like you.”

Chaeyeon was shocked. She may have laughed it out but her heart was hurt, especially her feelings towards Sakura. With Sakura’s true colors, having feelings for her was drained to nothingness.

“Ah…so you don’t like normal girls, then?” Chaeyeon raised. “Does this mean you’re only friends with the other Castor members because they’re part of the student council? If they weren’t, would you just throw them away?”

“Yah, Chaeyeon – “

“I also think you have an inferiority complex. Even if you recently ranked one place lower than last time, you’re angry at me because we tied.”

“That’s because I try harder than you do. I deserve more credit.” Sakura batted.

“And what? You drag other people down so you can get up?” Chaeyeon asked again then clapped. “Nice sugarcoating skills, Miyawaki. You even made Castor become like you.”

Sakura was frozen. Chaeyeon calmed her down, adding more confusion.

“Let me remind you, Kkura.” Chaeyeon whispered. “Between Pollux and Castor, Pollux was divine while Castor was mortal. Yet, they alternatively shared powers and became great together through the formation of the Gemini constellation. I prayed that it would happened to our teams but the system’s controlling you.”

“What are you saying?!”

“I’m just saying that you need to stop supporting your egos and let your true desires free. Don’t become a good example to the students by sugarcoating lies.”

Sakura clenched her fists as Chaeyeon drew closer. Sakura would’ve aimed to punch her but Chaeyeon stopped her and did something unusual.

Despite the drained feelings, there was still a drop left that made Chaeyeon kiss Sakura’s forehead.

“Yah!” Sakura pushed her away as she blushed. “You’re crazy!”

“Crazy in love’s the term, even if you’re a cocky hidden in the President’s body.” Chaeyeon spoke. “This is why I wanted to be normal.” She walked away. “When I grow older, I’ll never put the school like this.”

Sakura was frozen as she tried to decipher Chaeyeon’s words. She never thought Chaeyeon could do that to her, let alone say words beyond her level despite portrayed as a normal dancer and athlete. Perhaps she was right about the usual ‘system’ being a sugarcoated lie constantly fed to them.

“Kkura!” Eunbi called as the rest of Castor drew closer. “Where did you wander? We looked everywhere for you!”

“I was stressed. Chaeyeon and I tied on the rankings.”

“All of us are tied to Pollux.” Yuri added. “This is unfair! There’s no way I’d tie with Yena.”

“I had the worst case.” Wonyoung harrumphed. “The idiot dog and I tied.”

Sakura looked at her members sharing their sugarcoated sentiments. Chaeyeon’s words rang into her head as she got proven by her point.
It was unbecoming of them and it needed to stop. “Don’t say that.”

Castor were shocked of their president. Sakura decided to talk this out in their office and all members agreed. They gathered in their conference room and Sakura started their discussions.

“Everyone, we should not ridicule Pollux nor anyone.” She started. “We are the student council. We need to set a good example in a truthful way.”

The members were shocked. Eunbi started the objection. “What are you talking about, Kkura. We’re saying that because it’s a threat to us.”

“It’s not a threat if you think negatively about it. Besides, they’re not harming anyone.”

“But it’s impossible for them, Unnie. They don’t usually rank in the Top 6.” Wonyoung mumbled.

“Yujin, Yena, and Nako are an exception. And that’s belittlement. Just because they don’t frequently rank higher doesn’t mean they’ll always stay in the same league. People improve.”

“What’s with that tone, Kkura?” Yuri asked. “Why do you make it sound that we’re the bad guys? We’re Castor, the student council. We set our examples and are obedient to the system.”

“We’re becoming one because of our obedience to the system. Students loved us because of our sugarcoating words. We even belittle our own classmates because we’re tied with them.”

“Kkura, we don’t just do this for ourselves. It’s for them too.” Minju spoke. “Didn’t we want this because we wanted to get their attention since sixth grade?”

“Right. The twelve of us were classmates since that time. We even admired them a lot to the point where we always play the good role to get them to notice us. It didn’t work…up until now. They’re the good and not us. Pollux was the divine one and not Castor.”

Everyone understood Sakura’s words and felt embarrassed. Students may not know this true color but Castor knew it was wrong to be filled with lies and sugarcoat them. They were awakened by that realization and planned a course of action to do what’s right.

“I have something to say.” Hitomi raised.

“No need. You’re the good one among us.” Minju added. “It’s why you’re always with Nako now, right?”

“I mean to add something. It’s about Pollux.” Hitomi spoke and they became very curious. “Pollux are more than meet our eyes. I believe they’re the truly divine ones and the most rightful students here. They look like normal fools but it’s them who truly held power and righteousness. They’re even as rich as us – richer even.”

“What?!” The rest of Castor were shocked.

A resonation was heard throughout the school’s speakers as the screens were automatically. Naturally, Castor would prevent this. Sakura and Yuri had the ways, after all.

But no. They just sat there, listening and watching.

Wanting positive experience is a negative experience; accepting negative experience is a positive experience.

It was Yujin’s voice. The footage showed news of Korea’s #1 entertainment label and Ahn Yujin being part of the most famous Korean vlog. The last part was revealed that Yujin was the heir of the entertainment label, leaving Wonyoung shocked.

The idea that the more you pursue in feeling better, the less satisfied you become, as pursuing only reinforces the fact that you lacked it in the first place.

It was Hyewon’s voice. The footage showed news of Korea’s #1 fast-food chain and Kang Hyewon being an ambassadress for chicken tenders. The last part was revealed that Hyewon was the heir of the fast-food chain, leaving Eunbi down on her knees.

The more you desperately want to be rich, the more you feel poor, regardless of how much money you make.

It was Yena’s voice. The footage showed news of Korea’s #1 law firm and Choi Yena practicing the ways of a prosecutor. The last part was revealed that Yena was the heir of the law firm, leaving Yuri to drop her law book.

The more you desperately want to be y, the uglier you come to see yourself, regardless of your actual appearance.

It was Chaewon’s voice. The footage showed news of Korea’s #1 beauty product manufacturer and Kim Chaewon being an ambassadress for facial soap. The last part was revealed that Chaewon was the heir of the beauty product manufacturer, leaving Minju to gasp.

The more you desperately want to be happy and loved, the lonelier and more afraid you become, regardless of those who surround you.

It was Nako’s voice. The footage showed news of Korea’s #1 ballet theater and Yabuki Nako doing a wonderful pirouette.  The last part was revealed that Nako was the heir of the ballet theater, leaving Hitomi to cry and become enlightened of what they’ve become.

And the more you want to become spiritually enlightened, the more self-centered and shallow you become when you get there.

It was Chaeyeon’s voice. The footage showed news of Korea’s #1 educational institution and Lee Chaeyeon sitting on the Director’s chair. The last part was revealed that Chaeyeon was the heir of that educational, leaving Sakura to question her authority.

It was the most shocking revelation ever. Who knew it was their own school and Chaeyeon was gonna be its Director soon?

Castor.

The student council regained their stand and faced whatever will be seen and heard. The next footage was of Castor and all they did good for the school. For a moment there, they thought they would be done for, that Pollux was ready to shut them down.

But as prophesized in the Grecian texts that Pollux asked Zeus to share his immortality with Castor, it was also granted by team Pollux to share peace, power, and harmony to team Castor.

That's why it's important to not push yourself in getting what you want. Don't give a damn about anything. Just go with the flow. Let your heart dream freely and wholeheartedly and let love be your guide to a good life.

The speakers and the screen displayed a text that Castor needs to go to the rooftop. All six members ran up the location and once they were at the rooftop, they saw Pollux around a large microphone. The two teams faced together with their preferred people. For Sakura, facing Chaeyeon was a challenge.

After everything she said to her, how could Chaeyeon have the heart to forgive?

“How did you do it, Chaeyeon?” Sakura asked. “Why did you do this?”

“I convinced my Dad to change his unjust principles. As much as all of want to live normally, we couldn’t do nothing anymore.” Chaeyeon added. “We did this to bring justice to the system.”

“And about us…” Eunbi spoke. “…why did you reveal the truth to everyone? To us?”

“Everyone has the right to know the truth. We can’t keep it forever.” Hyewon shrugged. “We did this to wake you up from the sugarcoated lies and save you from becoming the lies themselves.”

“Chaeyeon had one cocky Director for a dad.” Minju added.

“At least the Dad wanted to change for her daughter.” Chaewon said back.

“We’re really sorry for the misunderstanding.” Yuri mumbled as Castor bowed.

“We’re sorry too.” Yena mumbled and Pollux bowed too.

“Truce?” Hitomi asked as Castor lent their hands.

“Truce.” Nako spoke as Pollux shook their hands back.

It would’ve been the end. Pollux and Castor weren’t seen as rivals but twin groups that would work in harmony.

“There’s still one thing.” Yujin raised. “It’s about forming one group and saying our true feelings towards the people we like.”

“That will be decided by our leaders.” Wonyoung added. “For now, we need to talk to the one ones we like. Scatter like bits of bread on a table.”

Everyone agreed and separated in pairs. Nako and Hitomi were close to the door. Yujin and Wonyoung were at the sound system. Chaewon and Minju were at the eastern side. Yuri and Yena were on the western. Eunbi and Hyewon went farther north…

….and Sakura and Chaeyeon stayed where they are.

“I never thought you were aware of my feelings.” Sakura mumbled. “I’m really sorry that it had to go like this.”

“Same for you.” Chaeyeon added. “It’s fine. To the least the truth set you free.”

“I don’t think I have the right to be loved by you.”

Sakura lowered her head but Chaeyeon kept it up so that they look in each other’s eyes. Sakura was teary but Chaeyeon was quick to wipe them off.

“Let your heart dream freely and wholeheartedly…” Chaeyeon added as she held her hand. “…and let me be the one to guide you towards our new life together.”

Sakura smiled as her tears dropped and her arms wrapped Chaeyeon’s build. Chaeyeon hugged back as she finally got her yes. The rest of the members had their yeses with their significant others.

Sakura and Chaeyeon broke from their hug and decided to form one group. The student council will alternatively change in lineup and their group will be known as Gemini. They called the rest and the twelve form a group hug.

From now on, they’ll face the future days thinking that there’s nothing quite sad as being lonely. They’ll become lovers with opposing forces like light and dark or true or false, and will realize that each one cannot exist without the other.
