[CONTENTID6]I loved Byun Baekhyun, my best friend for as long as I can remember. He may not be the nicest, the smartest or most obedient child to his parents but I know he’s a good person. I can see it. I can see it when takes care of me, when he defends me, makes me laugh, comforts me, and just does everything a best friend would do.

I love him.

I loved him so much so that when the kidnappers cornered us both in a dark alleyway one late night, with me balling as they pulled him out of my arms and dragged him away, I ran after them and dropped to my knees. “No, please!” I begged, hugging the large man’s leg. “Sang Hee, no! Run away! Go get help, Sang Hee! R–”

A punch struck his cheek and the boy fell on the cold floor. I flinched, willing myself not to look at him in fear that I’d run to him and ruin his chance of escape somehow. The other two were squatting down to take him away but I screamed at the top of my lungs to stop them. Alarmed, the man I was clinging onto pulled me up to my feet and covered my mouth with his greasy hand.

“! If you don’t shut the up, I’ll ing kill you!” He hissed at me, his other hand wrapping around my neck a little too tightly. With one movement
