Chapter two! (Please note that it's all in Jessica's POV for now.) ~~~ I awoke with a start. That nightmare, that same damn nightmare plagued me all night. I awoke to soaking wet sheets, my skin covered in a thin layer of cool sweat. My body shook violently, as it did every morning since Taeyeon was gone. She is home now. Why was I still having the same horrible nightmare? She is home, yes but she isn’t mine. She is back, but now she's in love with another person, not me. The locations changed constantly but the outcome was always the same. I confess my love to Taeyeon and she laughs mercilessly. I tell her that she has stolen my heart and she just cackles and tells me she could never love me again. She tells me that she deserves better and I nod my head in agreement. Someone grabs her and they disappear. The same damn nightmare every night. My heart was heavy as it always was when I awoke, but now I had the new joy of picturing the love of my life happily awaking next to her beautiful and charming fiancee Yuri. I tried not to picture their heads resting on the same pillow. I tried desperately to remove the image of their intertwined hands or the sweet smile Taeyeon gives to her at any given time. I wanted to hate her. I wanted to hate her so bad but how could I? I was complicit in my own heartbreak and I knew it. I was angry and I said things to Taeyeon I shouldn’t have said that led her to run away from me. And so she gave up on me. When Tiffany and I returned to the table yesterday, Taeyeon and Yuri were telling the rest about how they met, and fell in love. “We met at a club in Seattle. It was suppose to be a casual thing between us but one night turned to many nights, a date turned to dates and I met Yuri's family, they were so kind and welcoming. They had every reason to be suspicious of me, considering I was a stranger but they welcomed me with open arms." Taeyeon reached out a soft hand and interlaced her fingers with Yuri's. Kill me. Yuri looked over at Taeyeon, her eyes bright and full of love. Her brunette hair looked like spun silk and shined beautifully in the harsh sun light. “Taeyeon came into my life and helped me so much. I was heart broken and sad, I'd wanted to end it all after my boyfriend left me but Taeyeonnie didn't let me dwell in my sadness, she didn't let me dwell in the darkness I was loosing myself into. For days I wasn't home, my parents were scared because they couldn't find me anywhere, I got into drugs and ran away from home but the night I met Taeyeon changed my life. I returned home and introduce her to my family, she made such a huge impact on my family and everyone fell madly in love with her.” “Some more than others”, Sooyoung said with a wink. GOD I HATE THIS. Yuri leaned her head against Taeyeon's shoulder and smiled then continues. “Losing my boyfriend before I met Taeyeon was the worst pain I have ever experienced but the one blessing from the pain, the one sliver of light in the darkness, was my Taeyeon.” She adds looking at Taeyeon with that same eyes, full of love and admiration. My Taeyeon? She was my Taeyeon. Now she’s your Taeyeon. Tiffany was right. I should have left. This is unbearable. Taeyeon shifted in her seat uncomfortably and avoided my gaze. She didn’t move away from me physically but I could feel her coldness towards me. I felt like I would never feel warm from her again. "So did you forget all about us? Why did you even have to suddenly leave? You didn't even bother to say goodbye to any of us." Sunny pouted cutely. Taeyeon looked over at me and smiled. Her eyes were soft and warm but it still wasn’t her usual loving smile. That seemed to have vanished into thin air. Hyoyeon stood and moved to my side, she wrapped her arms around me and gave me a sad smile. I never confessed my feelings for Taeyeon to her but her eyes were knowing and seemed to share in my sadness. She squeezed me tight and looked at Taeyeon. “Do you know Sica searched for you every minute of every day Taeyeon? She didn’t eat or sleep without our constant prodding. She worked alongside Tiffany tirelessly trying to find you, we all gave up after months but Jessica never stopped looking for you, I know she said she needed to apologise for something but she cared...alot.” It was strange but Hyoyeon's tone almost sounded like she was disappointed in Taeyeon. “When did you stop looking?” Taeyeon asked me directly. Her eyes are so beautiful, I could weep. “I never stopped”, I whispered softly. “Well, I also know that she never gave up on you Tae.” Sunny adds. “I’m just glad you made it back home safe and sound”, I said with sad eyes and a forced smile. Taeyeon gave me a sad smile. I would have appreciated the eye contact but she also pulled Yuri closer and that stabbed at my heart viciously. “I am too. Thank you for never giving up on me Jessica. You’re a good friend.” Ouch. It wasn’t that her words seemed insincere. She meant what she said but
