Love at First Bite
Description
Go Hayoon used to think love was like a spiced apple cider at a winter fair. The twinkling Christmas lights would dazzle her eyes, blinding her from her surroundings, making her clutch tightly onto the drink as she wobbled her way through the fair, careful as to not lose a single drop.
That was however in the past. Now Hayoon hoped that if she ever does experience love again, for it to be like coffee. Not espresso coffee which shoots you straight in the soul, giving you no time to react. Not caramel latte, that is so overwhelmingly sweet and — in Hayoon’s opinion — not real coffee. Nor a badly made cappuccino, where the milk froth covers the burnt coffee laying underneath, momentarily giving you the false hope of having the real deal.
No.
Hayoon hoped for something more subtle and flavourful; a delicate hand brew coffee that she could sip on slowly while enjoying the warmth of the sun on an autumn day.

What does love taste like to you?
Is it a chaste and sudden burst of flavour? Perhaps like a lemon, since Japanese anime seems to associate first kiss as tasting like a lemon? Sweet but mostly sour because first love never really works out.
Or is it like chugging down a gin and tonic, blurring your thoughts and bending reality, a bittersweet love that makes you lose your senses?
Or maybe it is like biting into a freshly made bungeoppang, having your insides warm up from the rich sweet filling of red bean paste, a gentle but loyal love that will last for a lifetime?
Or will be be something much more unconventional like kimbap; something with a crunch, a little bit of sweet but also some savouriness, all balanced with a blanket of good old trusty rice? A simple love that is nurtured with great care?
