“Hey.” Chaewon jumped a little in surprise when the presence of her man came out of nowhere, wrapping his hands around her waist as he plant a soft kiss on her neck, before that her sole attention was on the tree that she was painting for their play.

“You shouldn’t be here.” Her actions contradict her statement when she leaned closer to him, pressing her back against his chest as he sniffs her perfume that lingers on her neck. It’s one of his favorite thing to do while he snuggle with her, out of the two of them, she was surprise to know that he’s clingier and needier than her.

“Class is over, we have a date.” Right, she forgot about that when she promised Yuri she’ll stay after class to finish painting their props for the play. With an apologetic smile, she turned to face him and gave him a sweet kiss on his nose.

But Saku isn’t fooled by it, he frowns when he senses what’s about to escape from her lips so he beats her to it.

“You forgot didn’t you.” Chaewon nodded her head in shame then hid her face by pressing herself against his chest. Disappointment was written all over his face, but he knows there’s nothing he could do about it.

As much as he wants her to just leave, he knows he can’t force her to do things. It’s something they’ve talked about when the lad was just courting the younger, she told him that he’s way too demanding for her liking.

That he can’t just tell her to do as he please because he doesn’t own her or anything. That even if she were to agree to being his girlfriend, she’s still her own person who will do whatever she wants even if he doesn’t want her to.

“Baby I’m sorry, it’s my fault I know. I’ll make it up to you next time I promise.” It tickles him whenever she calls him baby, and just like that he was no longer disappointed in her.

“It’s alright, next time then. How about I just help you paint this then we’ll grab some milkshakes on the way home?” Chaewon was all smiles when she finally lifted her head to look at him, the distance of their faces were closer than she expected. The lass couldn’t help but look at his tempting lips.

Even if she was the one who refuses to kiss him on the lips, that doesn’t mean she’s not curious though. There’s never a day where she doesn’t wonder what his lips taste like, and how it would feel if his lips were pressed against hers.

Would her heel raise up like how it does in the movies while he kiss her? Thoughts like these make her forget about the vow she took, fortunately for her, Saku respects her wishes and will never ever think about taking advantage of her weaknesses.

To snap her out of her trance, he placed a lingering kiss on her forehead then pulls away from his lover as he grab the paintbrush to continue what the lass started.

“Yah oppa you’re not supposed to be here! You’re our rival class!” Yuri’s voice echoes across the hall as she points a finger of accusation at the lad who could only roll his eyes on her.

“I’m literally helping you?!” Yuri stood before the couple with her arms crossed and lips jutted out in a pout, she’s the director of their class’s play and everyone knows, Jo Yuri is one competitive girl any sign of imperfection and she’ll go nuts over it.

“And you’re also literally the male lead of your class. I’m not taking chances, it’s possible you’re only here to spy on our rehearsal and tell your director all about it!” Saku almost wants to laugh at how much Yuri is overreacting right now, but he knows if he were to do that she will kick him out and he can’t allow that to happen. He can’t wait another hour or two for Chaewon to finish her work.

“Our rehearsal was literally cancelled because I’m supposed to be on a date with my girlfriend but now we can’t do that because you’re making her finish this stupid- tree. Your only choice is to let me help her finish this dumb tree because I am not walking out of here without my girlfriend’s with me.” Yuri’s aware that he’s not kidding, and she couldn’t exactly tell Chaewon to do something because she too is giving her an apologetic look.

With a sigh and one more eye roll, she lets him do what he wanted but not before threatening him about keeping his mouth shut about their rehearsal.

“Not gonna lie, that midget is a little scary.” Chaewon laughed at her lover as she kissed his cheeks softly, feeling all over the moon at the decision of the older to stay here with her and help her paint the “dumb- tree” just because he wanted to be with her.

“She is.” Although glad, the fairy couldn’t help but frown upon remembering Yuri’s words. Saku didn’t mention anything about being the male lead of their play and it never occurred to her as well. Not even the others mentioned anything about it during lunch.

Saku noticed his girlfriend falling in a trance, he knows that look very well. It’s how she always looks like when she’s in doubt but is hesitant to speak up about it.

“What’s on your mind?” Chaewon was pulled away from her trance when he spoke, she bit her lower lip, deciding whether she will bring it up or not. But she remembered the deal they had, that every time she’s bothered by something she should just ask.

Since communication is something they struggled with before, Saku’s trying his best to overcome that struggle and it’s only right that she should do the same as well. It wouldn’t be fair to him if he’s the only one trying.

“You didn’t tell me you were the male lead of your class.” Upon saying that, Saku’s lips formed an ‘o’ before he facepalmed himself.

“, I knew I forgot to tell you something. Sorry I was too occupied the past few days, I didn’t mean to forget.” Saku was quick to assure her worries by admitting his mistake and topping it off with light kisses on her shoulder.

Being the understanding girlfriend that she is, she nodded her head and taps his head to let him know that it’s no big deal.

“It’s okay, before I started dating you I was already aware you have a memory of an old man.” Saku gasped in disbelief as he narrowed his eyes at his lover who only stuck her tongue out on him.

His ears were blessed with her melodic laughter after that, and a grin automatically appeared on his face. Strangely enough, he’s starting to scowl less, and smile more all because of Chaewon.

It was a weird feeling for him at first given that he’s not used to feeling this way and that his chest have never felt this light and warm before but somehow, he’s liking this feeling that only she can give.

“Excuse me but this old man is the handsomest guy in school, and a very good actor if I may say so myself.” The Japanese wore a smug smile as he boasts about his achievements to his girlfriend, this is a newfound information for her. They’ve never talked about this before, but hearing him talk about himself with pride in his voice makes her smile.

Before he used to be so uncomfortable when he talks about himself, now he’s so full of himself even his friends are sick and tired of him. They don’t know whether to thank Chaewon for that or not.

She learned that he used to take acting lessons, dance lessons, singing lessons, art lessons, and everything else. His mother made sure he has a background on everything related to art, being an actress herself she wanted her children to grow up as one too.

“Is that what you want too? To be an actor?” Saku thought about her question, she could tell he was thinking hard because of the crease that appeared in his forehead. 

“I don’t know yet, it’s too early for me to tell but I enjoy acting.” Just the glow in his eyes earlier when he talked about it was enough evidence that he’s telling her the truth.

“Well you wanna know something?”

The Japanese turned his head to look at his lover and meet her gaze, she was smiling warmly as she cups his face and pulled him closer to kiss the tip of his nose.

“Whatever you want to do in life, I want to witness it. I want to be there with you by your side because I love you.” Both Saku and Chaewon were absolutely shocked with what left the lass’s mouth. Neither of them expected that, not even the lass and he could tell because the second those words left her lips, her eyes grew wide.

“What?” Chaewon’s face turned deep red all over, she’s out of words and she definitely don’t know how to escape this one. Embarrassed, she hid her face at the crook of his neck as she hugged her tight wishing the ground would just eat her alive then and there.

“ me, Kim Chaewon you’re not messing with me are you?” Saku hugged her tighter and kissed the crown of her h
