You Aren't Special

Description

Balance is important. Where there is love, there is hate; where there is good, there is evil; where there is a person frowning, there is a person smiling; where there is life, there is death. This is the story of how I stopped smiling, and how I lost myself in the process of twisting my lips into a grin, because even the ones with the brightest smiles may have haunting fears. This is the story of how I told myself: 'You aren't special' - and how I corrected myself along the way.

-BTSArmyForever- (or now, Skyful_Poof) is back with another story! This is a one-shot, and before you read the story, please read these few sentences.

Firstly, I want to say that I've only spent around 3 days on this story in the midst of exams. It's not too lengthy, and it doesn't have a heavy plot. Did you notice the beautiful story cover? It was created by the owner of a really great shop. They also advertised this story! I recommend you to check it out for advertisements and graphics. They're really amazing. They've also made a banner for my story, which I won't be using, but you all need to see how wonderful it is!

This story is supposed to be a birthday gift or a story dedicated to J-Hope, or Jung Hoseok, from BTS. I suggest you all to read the tags and sure that you are not about to read anything that may seem triggering. I do not use the trigger-warning sign as it applies the 'Members Only' feature which I don't want. So, do go through the tags.

As you all know, he smiles like he's ready to sacrifice everything for humanity. He truly is an angel, but it always scares me that he might be smiling wide to hide his pain. This story discusses most of my thoughts on this rather terrifying topic, portrayed as his own thoughts. Of course, this is purely fictional, and it mainly shows how one may go through personal conflicts throughout their lives, and how they react to it.

I'm not saying that Hoseok's smiles are fake; in fact, I'm only trying to use that thought as a spine to the story. I think you'll understand once you read the story. Anyways, this is for our prince of sunshine, hope and joy: Jung Hoseok. Happy birthday, we love you!

PLEASE READ: Although the characters in the story are not mine, all the ideas and the plot belong to me. This story is not and should not be plagiarised. This work can only be found on AFF and on AO3. If you find a work similar to this, it is pure coincidence. If you find my work posted elsewhere (other than AFF and AO3), please message me. Thank you.

Chapter 1: This is sad but with happy ending. We get to see Hoseok go from thinking he is worthless to finally recognising himself and starting to see the bright side, accepting himself for who he is. It is so good to see Hoseok finally being able to talk about his feelings and emotions

Chapter 1: I loved this! The emotions could not only be read, but you could feel them through the writing. And that last sentence was amazing, and so poignant.
