Heart to Heart

In the end, their class won no award, which Hyunmi thought was totally fine because they managed to earn some money instead. And it seemed she even got something else out of the entire event.
baekhyunee: meet up after school today? i’ll go to you since i already know where it’s at
janghm: I forgot to bring the blazer
baekhyunee: boo! u just wanna keep the blazer don’t u?
janghm: No, it’s being dry cleaned. Unless you want it back all sticky and cola-ish
baekhyunee: u may keep it
janghm: For free, right?
baekhyunee: on second thought, maybe i want something in exchange for it
Hyunmi scoffed. Ever since the school festival, she had been texting Baekhyun, which she admitted was fun and different for once. Her usual conversations were in the big groupchat with the rest, or a private conversation with Woohyun since he always seemed to have something to say.
janghm: Like what?
baekhyunee: ur time. u free this sunday? lets meet up
janghm: Is this a date?
baekhyunee: busted :D
Hyunmi looked up from her phone, taking in the situation. A date. She had never actually gone on a date. High school truly made her experience all sort of things for the first time. Was Woohyun’s nonsensical prediction about liking someone right after all?
“Hi, Hyunmi,” Hime greeted, taking a stride besides the shorter girl. “Do you have a minute?”
“For you? Anytime,” Hyunmi said, which she realized was very similar to something cheesy Woohyun would say.
Hime seemed to have made the same observation and giggled. “You’re really close to Woohyun, huh?”
“In a friendly way though, nothing you have to worry about,” she immediately reassured, not wanting to drive away Woohyun’s potential girlfriend-to-be.
Hime smiled at this, though the cheerfulness in her eyes seemed to dim a little. She wrapped her hand around Hyunmi. “Could you come with me?”
“Of course.”
So Hyunmi followed her to a classroom which she presumed was empty. But once she entered, she was greeted by a sharp scent of citrus and burning candles. The drapes were closed on purpose, giving the entire class a rather dark and creepy ambience. Several girls were seated in a circle, Ahreum being one of them. In the middle of the white board was a photo of Nam Woohyun.
“Hi Hyunmi. Welcome to the Nam Woohyun fanclub,” Ahreum greeted her calmly.
“Fanclub?” Hyunmi asked, doing a double take at the class. “You sure this isn’t a Woohyun worshipping cult?”
The girls all laughed as Hime led her to a chair.
“Ahreum, I thought you were in Myungsoo’s fanclub,” Hyunmi whispered to the girl beside her.
“I am in both fanclubs,” the girl smiled faultlessly.
Hyunmi nodded understandingly, deciding it would be better to withhold that information from Woohyun. He probably wouldn’t like knowing some of his fangirls had dual loyalty. “So, why have I been summoned?”
“Well, with all the recent events taking place, we were all curious about something,” Ahreum began, and all girls leaned forward at the same time, as if they were all in on the same secret. “Are you two finally going out?”
Hyunmi blinked. “What?”
“During the school festival he made a whole spectacle about dragging you away from the other guy,” Ahreum elaborated.
“Just like in movies,” Hime swooned, which was all the more surprising. Every other club member squealed with the same excitement.
“Wait, this is a misunderstanding,” Hyunmi began. She didn’t even know people were watching during the school festival. “We’re not going out.”
“Are you sure? You don’t have to be shy. We will fully support you if you do,” Hime said, and every member nodded.
Hyunmi put a hand to her chest, touched by the kind gesture of Woohyun’s fanclub. At least they weren’t some possessive maniacs, and he’d be glad to know that. But it was weird to hear such supportive words from the girl she had been trying to pair Woohyun up with.
“We’re just friends. Nothing changed,” Hyunmi insisted. She had to chant those words to herself as a reminder. Her heart may have reacted to him in more unusual ways lately, but surely it meant nothing.
Hyunmi shifted to face Hime instead, and took her hand. “I will also fully support you since you like him.”
This surprised Hime whose face immediately flushed red. “You wouldn’t mind?”
“Of course not.”
Hime bit her lip, looking at the rest of the club members who slowly applauded the heartfelt conclusion. No drama. No catfights. Just a group of people who wanted the best for Woohyun.
“Anyway, now that I’m here.” Hyunmi grinned, motioning everyone to come closer for a secret huddle. “How much would you guys be willing to pay for a lock of Woohyun’s hair?”

“Alright, class. You know the drill,” Mr. Kim said after he had taken the class out to the field behind the building. “Grab a partner and choose something to draw. The two of you will have to draw the same subject. It’s wonderful how a different pair of eyes can view the same thing differently.”
Usually, Hyunmi would pair up with Seulyi. But with Myungsoo in the picture, surely the pairing would work out differently. The biggest obstacle were the swarm of girls already asking Myungsoo to partner up.
“I have no chance, do I?” Seulyi pouted at the sight.
Before Hyunmi could reply, they both watched the boy break out from his group of obsessed fangirls. Myungsoo looked around him, desperate for an escape, until he finally sighted them.
“Help!” He called out, taking shelter behind Seulyi who was more than elated to have the boy’s hand clench her shoulder like his life depended on it. “You two are the only sane girls. Save me.”
No one had said that you had to be partnered with the opposite gender, but Myungsoo must’ve somehow mixed up the instructions with his previous school. It worked out for the best though.
“Of course. Seulyi is available,” Hyunmi volunteered her friend immediately.
“Thank God. I feel more at ease being with you,” Myungsoo sighed, smiling at Seulyi who was too starstruck to form a reply.
“I… I’m not that good at drawing,” she eventually said after regaining her voice. She feared him mocking her drawing, though he did not seem to be that type.
“Neither am I. We can not be good together,” Myungsoo said, realizing how lame that sounded as he covered his own mouth from embarrassment.
Seulyi was surprised by Myungsoo’s bashful behavior, looking on with a controlled poker face while she was screa
