Prologue
TomorrowThere is a mark on my finger that says I've been married. Lines etched like there's an invisible wedding ring around it. Today, like any other day, I contemplate on whether or not I should actually wear it, but like any other day, I just put it in my pocket. I know for a fact that my wife only wears it because she doesn't want its absence to raise any questions that we've avoided to ask ourselves all this time.
“Marriage is hard,” Jongin says as he puts a can of beer across me and chugs one for himself. A smirk curves on my face because of course; Jongin would be one to say something like this. Only I know of his plans to live the bachelor life - he's had that set in stone. However, there was one girl, whom we thought would change that.
“I don't know if I can count on your words, you've never been married,” A chuckle escapes my mouth before chugging beer myself. He pauses for a moment and gives me a look.
“I married the only woman you'd give this life up for,” I gesture to his open garden and he lets out a small laugh, because we both know it's the truth.
We both look ahead of us, the view of the city seen from this bachelor's garden. Apart from Jongin using this as a romantic spot to lure women and throw his poetic overused verses, he actually has a thing for city lights. I remember our college days, when we used to climb up rooftops in New York, just to get a view of the city. We often got in trouble for them, but every bit was worth it, just to stand in a place where everything seemed okay and everything that was falling apart felt like
