well, I want to thank the subscribers and the votes that this story got after i posted the first chapter. all of this made me very happy because I wasn’t sure how a story like this would be received here.
I also want to thank you for the comments because they are always important for me to know your doubts and also to know if you are enjoying what I write :)

and talking about the comments, I saw that you were kind of worried when I said that hyukjae and donghae are going to have other relationships. well, I'm planning to write 60 chapters for this fanfic because it only ends after Arrow's sixth birthday - I'm still writing the third chapter, so Ii need to know if my 60 chapter plan will work.

anyway, there is no reason for concern. hyukjae and donghae will be together in the end *-*

After changing Arrow's diaper and feeding his eight–day–old son, Hyukjae started pacing slowly so that the boy could burp. Despite being a baby, the boy was curious and watched everything while keeping his eyes open.

As everyone already knew, Arrow really had brown eyes and sharp as Hyukjae's eyes. His hair was brown like Donghae's, but without a doubt the boy was the exact copy of his appa when he was a baby. And Hyukjae was very proud of himself.

- Hey, champion... Won't you burp? – Hyukjae patted Arrow lightly on the back and laughed softly when the boy burped and sobbed – This is my boy. I just hope you didn't get my shirt dirty again. Appa doesn't have enough shirts anymore and your daddy won't be happy if I wash my clothes before Saturday.

Arrow didn't understand anything at all, so he closed his eyes and rubbed a small hand over his little nose. He yawned and fell asleep again, while his appa hummed a lullaby – the only one he knew too. And when he realized that everything was calm, Hyukjae took Arrow to the bedroom and laid the boy in the crib.

And so he opened his mouth and wept as loudly as his little lungs could take.

- No... Don't cry. – Hyukjae took Arrow and shook him gently, looking at Donghae who entered the bedroom while rubbing his eyes – I think you woke up your dad.

Donghae smiled and carried his baby, rubbing his nose on his chubby cheek and then kissing the soft skin. Arrow was still crying, but not so loud. He just needed to smell Donghae to stay calm.

- Okay, okay... Daddy is here, isn't he? Appa will freak out if you cry like that, my love.

Hyukjae sighed.

- I think he just missed you.

- I'll make him sleep.

Hyukjae nodded and asked:

- Want something to eat?

- Yes. – Donghae smiled while making Arrow sleep – Remember that time when we traveled to Cuba and ate Chicharrones?*

- Of course I remember and it's obvious that you can't eat that.

Donghae pouted and looked at Hyukjae who raised an eyebrow.

- How about Ropa Vieja?**

And the mere memory of the day they ate Ropa Vieja made them smile. After all, the trip to Cuba was a beautiful excuse to escape the chaos their lives were in at that time and it was exactly during this trip that they ended up having unprotected for the first time and months later they learned about the baby who was sleeping peacefully at that time .

- Do you think you will be fine while I go to the market and buy the ingredients?

- Yes. I'll be okay, since Arrow slept. – Donghae smiled and put the baby in the crib – You don't need to be so worried, Hyuk. It's not like I'm stitched elsewhere.

Hyukjae bit his tongue.

- But I need to take care of you, even if we are not a couple anymore.

Donghae chuckled and fought the urge to hug Hyukjae as he did when the two were dating. Then he just sighed and whispered:

- You have done this very well in the last few months and especially these last few days, so you don’t need to be too worried about it. Arrow will be fine and I'll be fine, but I really need to eat something.

Hyukjae laughed and said:

- It's alright. I promise I won't be long.

Donghae nodded and covered Arrow with the fluffy blanket so the baby wouldn't feel too cold – there was a heater in the bedroom, but the brown-haired man didn't like to deal with it. He liked that Hyukjae set up the heater so that his son could sleep soundly. And since it was early November and autumn was leaving, he wanted to make sure Arrow didn't get sick.

Donghae really took all possible precautions.

And while Hyukjae was going to the market, Donghae took the opportunity to go to the bathroom and then get some cereal from the kitchen. He was hungry and wanted to eat everything in the fridge, but he thought it best not to eat too much because Hyukjae would cook one of his favorite dishes and he knew that his ex-boyfriend was an excellent chef.

After eating some cereal, Donghae sat on the couch and stretched his legs while the back of the neck. Although the healing was good, he was still recovering, but he was happy to be well. He always thought that maybe he was going to be in bed for a long time and he wouldn't be able to take care of Arrow. And as grateful as he was, Donghae didn't want Hyukjae to be the one to take care of the boy.

They needed to do this together. That's what they agreed to do when they spent more than eight hours talking about their son's future.

Donghae, then, sighed and took out his cell phone as soon as he heard it ring – and he needed to be quick so as not to wake Arrow. And when he saw that it was one of his best friends, he smiled and said:

- Ah, Ryeowook! It's been so long since we last spoke.

- Yes! You were in the sixth month of pregnancy when we spoke and I missed you so much.

- I missed you too. How are you in France? Is the course good?

- The course is excellent and I need to thank you for lending me your apartment.

- I'm glad you're right there and... – Donghae heard Arrow crying and sighed – My baby woke up, so we'll have to talk by video call.

Donghae laughed, hung up the phone and went to the bedroom to pick up his cute pouting son. He smiled, kissed Arrow's nose and wrapped him in the blanket so he would be warm and protected. Arrow even stopped crying and cuddled up to Donghae's chest, making his dad laugh softly and whisper:

- Your appa did the same thing when he was distressed. He said that I calmed him down. – and kissed Arrow's forehead – Now let's see uncle Wook?

Donghae took the laptop and took it to the living room. After sitting on the couch, he saw Ryeowook's notification and so they both started the video call.

- Oh, Hae... He's the most adorable little thing I've ever seen. – Ryeowook smiled when he saw Arrow – Eight days?

- Yes. Eight days. – Donghae smiled proudly at his son who yawned and put his little finger in his mouth – I think it's really cute when he does that. – and then made Arrow look at the computer – Look at uncle Wook, baby.

Arrow looked towards the laptop and saw Ryeowook who smiled widely and said:

- Hey, cute little thing. Uncle Wook will fill you with presents and sweets, although I know your daddy is an excellent confectioner.

Donghae laughed.

- You too will become an excellent confectioner, Wook. And I was even thinking of proposing something to you.

Ryeowook raised an eyebrow.

- And what would that be?

- Well, you know I don't work at Scarecrow and I don't intend to go back to work there. So I was thinking about opening a pastry shop after Arrow is a year old.

- And are you calling me to work with you?

- Of course I am. I still have a lot of money in the bank and my name got even more famous after this pregnancy. I will unite the two and build a business.

- And have you talked to Hyukjae about this?

- No, but I don't need his opinion on that.
