Act Three

            Pointing his rapier straight to the worn out fighting dummy, he didn’t show any sign of expression as his face is covered with the mask. With a swift, fast move, he danced around the sighting dummy, hitting and touching it several times. A feint, parry, riposte then attack. Until it becomes intense at one point and he just his rapier straight to the heart of the dummy, is soon fallen lifelessly to the floor. He took out his rapier with a shrieking sound filled the room, opened his mask and looked down at the dummy expressionlessly, and drawn back his rapier back to its cover to take out more fighting dummy on the cabinet.

            He didn’t notice two guys are looking at them, one with worried, one with amazement.

“I didn’t know that Baekhyun do fencing!” Kris tried to hold down his voice as Suho glared at him and shooed him right away

“He did, he is a professional” Suho explained thus widened Kris’s eyes double size as he couldn’t form anything unless a voiceless what, then Suho added “He studied in that famous fencing school, did you forget about that?” Kris nodded dramatically as Suho added “He always bragged about that, how could you?” earning a confuse look from Kris, Suho rolled his eyes and pulled Kris out of the scene as Baekhyun turn down the second dummy

“That is why his parents worried about him because he didn’t socialize much, what he did only fencing in school to the point when he didn’t make much friend. They decided to visit their hometown in our town and that accident is happened. He hates fencing now”

At that, Kris gasped “Wait, what? I didn’t get it”

“His cloning came to him while he is in training, defeated him, took his sword and-“ Suho stared at training Baekhyun “-killed everyone there, included his parents”

“Wha-“ Kris surprised in very different reason as they saw Baekhyun has finished his forth dummy

            But then Baekhyun put on his mask again and do another round. Never shows his expression even once. That is because deep down in his heart, Suho knows that Baekhyun never feels that victory. Not until he finished his cloning by himself.

“Investigate this case, take Eunhyuk with you and don’t talk to anyone about this”

            Jongdae looked at his side while Eunhyuk is snoring loudly.

            The police should be tired with all the night tasks to guard Park’s family and now the Head Police asked him to accompany him. Although he is happy he finally could investigate his case, but being send to the small town after finding out the truth of big case such as ‘X Murder Case’ is a bit-

“We are arrived” Jongdae parked the car and called Eunhyuk, is rubbing his eyes and mumbled a thank you as Jongdae turned off the car engine

            They are in front of an old building school which still operates well. It is around in the evening so it is normal not to find any boys at there. But there is a school guard, which is Jongdae remembers the most as he spending most of his time after school there before his parents pick him up.

“Mr. Park!” he shouted

The old man turned around after sensing his name is being called. He looked around at first, looking for someone who shouted his name, it is none other than Jongdae. As the man walk a little faster to approach the man and Mr. Park started to recognize him as the young clumsy boy twelve years ago.

“Oh my God, Daedae, is that you?!” he opened his arms and welcomed Jongdae with a hug while the other is happily jumping to the old man “Oh guess what we got here, our little Daedae is now a big grown man! Are you a police now?”

Jongdae shook his head, showing his big laugh as he said bubbly and proudly “I am a Detective!”

“You are kidding me, no way! You were so clumsy and cowards back then, how come you become a Detective?” the surprise in Mr. Park is real thus Jongdae couldn’t help but smile

“But yes I am! How are you? Is the school fine?” Jongdae immediately asked

Mr. Park lifted his hands upside as he said “Great as always!” then he is looking at his back and frowned “You should introduce me with this gentleman Daedae. Hi, you seem lost” he pointed at Eunhyuk who now is rubbing the back of his head awkwardly “What is your name young man?”

“Good evening, I am Lee Hyukjae-“

“-a real police” Jongdae whispered not so lowly as he shouted to Mr. Park’s poor ear who soon protested

“Alright then Officer Lee, I guess it is hard to take care of my boy here. Daedae is such a nuisance and asked so many questio- Oh wait! That is why you become a Detective. I still couldn’t believe it though. Anyway, it is rare to see you here- something wrong is happening?”

Jongdae only shrugged his shoulder and asked “Does Mrs. Yoo still work here?”

Mr. Park widened his eyes, a bit worried, but then said “Oh yes, she is. She is a Headmaster. I think she is still in her office. Wait a minute, let me you” he said after put the sweep away and asked them to follow him

            Jongdae thanked him and asked Eunhyuk to stay close. The old building hasn’t change that much. It only brought back his childhood memories where he found himself running from the other boys. Though, the case isn’t happened here.

            The wooden sign read Headmaster, and Mr. Park slowly knocks the door. The old voice comes from inside, telling Mr. Park to enter the room. And it is not even a surprise to see the surprised face on Mrs. Yoo. The expression told everything.

“Good evening ma’am, it is been a long time” Jongdae said formally, earning a surprise from Mr. Park as the change of tone he used

“J-Jongdae-ssi?” Mrs. Yoo is a bit stuttered when she called the name

Jongdae bended down a bit, showing her a respect before examining the office “Being remembered out of hundred boys here is an honor” he then approached Mrs. Yoo and glanced at Eunhyuk who is approached her as well

The officer took out his handcuff and put in on Mrs. Yoo’s wrist as he said “Mrs. Yoo Eunhee, this is Officer Lee. You are under arrest on charge of cyber-swindler. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you can’t afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense”

            Then Eunhyuk escorted Mrs. Yoo to the car while Jongdae is following them behind. He looked at Mr. Park which now is blinking in confused, then patted his shoulder bravely before shouting to Eunhyuk loudly.

“Officer Lee, do you need my help?”

Eunhyuk smirked, looking down at shock Mrs. Yoo as he said back from the car “Easy-peasy, I would take the case here by myself”

“Alright then” Jongdae nodded proudly and turned to Mr. Park “Coffee on my treat, do you want to?”

            Both of them took the seat at the corner of the only coffee shop in the town. It decorates nicely with all the paintings and books in the bookshelf, enough for Jongdae to feel comfortable. The young Detective apparently couldn’t take any places to investigate. With Mr. Park awkwardly shifted on his seat, yes, Jongdae just did the most investigation he could do. Remembering that Mr. Park is like a father to him, but at the same time is a witness on his case.

“It is such bad news, right? I am sorry I didn’t tell you in advance, Mr. Park. If you are not cooperating with the officer, it leaves you no choice but come to the police station. It is not good for your record” Jongdae explained, asking Mr. Park to drink his coffee

“Ye-yeah, I see” Mr. Park awkwardly said, looking at his surrounding as if he is afraid someone might come to him “So, w-what is happened to Mrs. Yoo after this?”

Jongdae stared at the coffee on his hand as he said “Just like what Officer Lee has said. Due to the evidence, she will get arrested. I doubted that she will be release as, you know, I myself tracked her here. I am sorry for the loss, but the school would get the substitute soon. Is something else worrying you, Mr. Park?”

He looks doubtful but then he nodded and looked at Jongdae in the eye “Are you, investigating me, Detective Kim?”

At the change of the nickname, Jongdae couldn’t help but to nod.

“I swear I didn’t know a thing about Mrs. Yoo’s case!” Mr. Park immediately shouted, thus earned attentions from the other guests

Jongdae sighed, took out his paper as he pointed to the Mr. Park “I am talking about Park Chanyeol, your- biological son”

Mr. Park then gasped “How did you know-? You are searching on me?” the red on his face told Jongdae how angry the man is “The case has been closed as a mere kidnapping case-! And I thought that their identities should be hidden for the sake of their mental healthiness. This is not right, I choose not to cooperate!”

Jongdae then closed his eyes out of his patience then he said “You have already known that I would talk about the kidnapping case. Something is indeed not right here. Don’t you ever think about your son at all? Mr. Park, you are a good guy. I have known you since I was a kid- a- and you are my father figure, h-how can you?”

From the surprised of Mr. Park, Jongdae knows that he hits the trigger, but actually he isn’t. Mr. Park firmly said that he wouldn’t cooperate and left him no choice. He chose to cross his hands and shut his mouth, not saying anything. Jongdae looked at him in disbelief, but keep staring at him as if he would say anything.

He didn’t.

“Mr. Park” Jongdae called, couldn’t help not to glare at him but the old man still not opening his mouth, thus he took a deep breathing and stood up “Find then, I would find the truth by myself”

As Jongdae left the coffee shop, Mr. Park came out and grabbed his hand “You shouldn’t. The case is closed. Just stay away from the case-“

“How can you say that?” Jongdae has lost his patience as he slapped away Mr. Park’s hand and added “He is your son. You should be more cooperative than this”

“He is my son, I know. That is why I just want him to live a happy life” Mr. Park answered “-and you. You are also my son. I don’t want anything bad happened to you, please. Listen to me. Stay away from this case”

Jongdae opened his mouth only to close it again, after all this twelve years, he wants to tell them all, but-

“They kill them, who let out any words-“ Mr. Park whispered, looking at his surrounding “I try to save my son by letting him go, so please- don’t make any trouble”

“I don’t” Jongdae fisted his hand in anger and glared at Mr. Park “I am wrong then, I thought that you are good father, but- you are not- you leave your son because of your own safety. Couldn’t believe you, Mr. Park. Now, if you excused me”

            With that, Jongdae left Mr. Park on the street.

            He couldn’t do anything to him, not even asking him to come to the police station. It is true that he has spent almost all of his time after school in his small rented house near the school. Mr. Park is his father figure after he lost his in car accident. If Mr. Park wants to live in the shadow, he would appreciate it. But sure, by the way Mr. Park handles this. It breaks his heart, somehow.

             As Jongdae left Mr. Park alone, he didn’t aware that someone is watching them with the smirk on his face. the ring on his mouth with his tongue, he played the lip chain that attached to his ears. The shining number of twenty one is attached on his skin.

“Aw, nice try sweetheart” the man said and followed Mr. Park afterwards
