Hello there! Anybody miss me? Sorry for not updating this fic regularly again. With the COVID-19 spreading, I don't feel I have enough energy to write anything at the moment. I've been living alone in Japan for a few years. And now I'm quite nervous with the situation. I'm not sick and I'm not busy. I'm just not feeling up to write this fic.

This is the timeline for Mina:

NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING.

Nayeon knew she shouldn't be surprised to see Mina's bruised face that day. It was kinda expected. The value of the lost jewelry was very high, and it had become a matter of pride for the police to solve this crime. They wouldn't hesitate to do anything to make Mina talk.

Seeing her friend's facial expression change, Jeongyeon quickly grabbed Nayeon's hand and whispered to her.

"Nayeon, remember, no kiss, no hug."

The CEO whipped her head towards the lawyer, seemingly a bit annoyed by the warning.

"Who said I'm going to kiss her?" She whispered back.

The lawyer smiled. "Your face said it all."

The CEO frowned and sighed, wondering whether her poker face skill had really gone now. Ever since she started dating Mina, she suddenly lost that precious skill. Or maybe she still has it, and it's just Jeongyeon who was being too attentive. Then again, Nayeon had to admit it, she did want to kiss and hug Mina so much at this moment.

"Hey." Mina pulled the chair and took a seat in front of Nayeon and Jeongyeon. Her lips formed a smile despite all the bruises she had.

"Hey. Your face looks bad. When did they beat you?" Jeongyeon asked directly.

"Yesterday."

"Y-Yesterday? On your birthday?" Nayeon's eyes shot open in anger. She eyed the officer who was guarding inside the huge room. She probably thinks everyone in this facility was responsible for making the penguin bruised.

"Do you know their names?" Jeongyeon asked.

"Yes. I was interrogated by Jang Hyunseung and Kim Hyuna. But only Hyuna beat me. Hyunseung didn't."

"Did they ask you any specific questions that you feel objected to answering?"

"Hm. They just asked me where I put the jewelry, and they wanted me to admit to the crime, which I refused, and then Hyuna beat me."

Nayeon didn't say anything. But it was clear she was angry. She was angry at her mother, Jennie, Jaebum, and all those police officers. And she was also angry at herself for being the indirect cause of Mina's problem.

"I will report this to the judge. Hopefully they will hear our plea for the bail." Jeongyeon said.

"Thanks, Jeong." Mina said.

"Tzuyu is also helping us. Today she will conduct a search at Jaebum's house. I'm not sure she can find the jewelry quickly. Jennie and Jaebum are not stupid, they will put the jewelry in a very safe place. But let's hope Tzuyu will find some clues." Nayeon informed Mina.

"Thanks, Nayeon." Mina said.

"Mina, your trial will be held next week. Have you been trialed in court before?"

"No."

"Okay. Here, read this." Jeongyeon handed her a paper. "It's a to-do-list and not-to-do list on how to behave in court. Cause you know, Miss Yeehaw-Myoui, the last time we had a case with Seunghyun, you decided to go all berserk and punched Seunghyun right in front of the judge and the chief sheriff. I want to make sure you won't do that again, or else, you will have to find yourself another lawyer."

Mina bit her lower lip and smiled shyly. "... I'm sorry. I promise I won't do that again."

"Good." Jeongyeon nodded at Mina. She then gave another paper about their current case, and Mina took a few minutes to read it. Their conversation then switched to more technical stuff about the trial. Nayeon was mostly silent, while listening to Mina and Jeongyeon during the whole discussion.

"Time's up, Myoui!" The officer told her.

Jeongyeon casted a glance at the officer.

"Okay, that's all for today, Mina. If something happens, call my number." She said.

"Sure." Mina nodded, and then she stood up. Her eyes shifted to Nayeon.

"Bye, Nayeon." She said, smiling a bit.

"Bye, Mina." Nayeon replied weakly. No kiss, no hug. It was torturing, more than Nayeon ever wanted to admit.

Then Mina turned her back and walked away, returning to her cell. While Nayeon could only watch her. And it frustrated her, to see Mina walking away like that, to a place where there was no protection at all, and anything could happen to everyone. It was frustrating, and scary too. If only she could, Nayeon would have dragged Mina out from this jail and brought her to a safer place with her.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine." Jeongyeon said upon noticing Nayeon’s face, upon which Nayeon just replied with a nod.

Days passed, and Mina was still locked inside the jail. Jeongyeon had reported about Mina getting beaten during the interrogation. However, for an unknown reason, the sheriff and the judge still refused to give Mina a bail. Jeongyeon suspected the judge had been bribed by the sheriff. Jeongyeon then planned to report this to the higher authorities, but it would take time and Mina's trial was already getting closer so Jeongyeon decided prioritize on the preparation for the trial instead.

Tzuyu still continued to conduct her investigation in order to find the jewelry. She was very busy, living two different lives, being a police officer during the day, and a vigilante during the night where she worked secretly for Nayeon and Jeongyeon. After her work hours is over, Tzuyu spent her nights spying on Jennie and Jaebum, and trying to find a clue of where the jewelry might be. Tzuyu didn't even have time to take Sana out for a date for the past week. Thankfully, Sana was very caring and understanding. She supported Tzuyu's activity although she didn't really know what Tzuyu was doing exactly.

The police continued their interrogation on Mina. Hyuna still liked to beat Mina, but not as severe as before. It seemed the officer had been given a warning by her superior.

This Wednesday evening, Momo asked Chaeyoung to help her dig and search for the golds again. They had been digging their land for almost a week, and they still couldn't find anything. But Momo still had her hope high. If they could find the golds, they could use it to buy some expensive jewelry and then give it to SungRyung and ask her to release Mina from the charge.

Mina's land was quite large, although not as large as the other ranch owners. Momo and Chaeyoung decided to start their search from the outer circle, the nearest area to the boundary, just like Tzuyu had suggested. And they decided to conduct their dig-and-search activity at night in order to not draw attention.

"Chaeng, you dig there. I dig here." Momo instructed as they began their search tonight.

The baby tiger grabbed her hoe and moved to the area where Momo had pointed. The two started working with their hoes, digging into the soil.

The night was deep dark. The moon and the stars were hiding behind the black clouds. The only lighting there came from the flashlig
