You couldn’t sleep.

No matter how many times you tossed and turned in your bed, nothing was helping.

The window was open and the slightly cool night air was comforting your hot skin, sweat coating it since your fan decided to stop working tonight.

Your legs were hurting and even though you put a soft pillow under your feet, the aching pain was still there.

It happened sometimes, working as a ground hostess meant wearing hills all day and run through the airport every day, all day and most of the times clients were not so nice at you.

And today was, unfortunately, one of those days when lots of flights were late so lots of clients were unhappy and just got mad with the first person they saw: you.

You gave up at the idea of sleeping for the night so you got up to take a relaxing bath hoping that it would have helped with the piled up stress of the day.

Scrolling through your social media, you sank deeper in the purple water that smelled like fresh lavender, checking what you missed that day since you didn’t even have the time to look at your phone.

Smiling at the bright screen, you were finally able to forget of that horrible day for a while.

Suddenly, you got a notification.

Your phone rang, and even after all that time your heart skipped a beat as his name appeared on your phone and the clear picture of the two of you shined as lock screen.

“Hello there” 

“Hey beauty, how are you?” he asked.

His voice sweet like caramel, comforting you like a hot tea in the cold nights of December.

“Better now, you?”

“Better? What do you mean? Though day at work? Want me to come over?”

You wanted to scream ‘Yes, please!’ but you knew his schedules and how important they were, you didn’t want him to distract himself at the moment so you just answered that you were fine and you would have just eaten something and go straight to bed.

You talked for a bit, chatting about useless things and laughed at his not so funny jokes.

You loved it, how comfortable it was to just talk to him, your relationship was relaxed and fun as there were rarely any serious moments, Baekhyun really hated silence and awkwardness so he avoided those moments as much as he could, throwing jokes here and there.

“Ok it’s almost 4 am, we should both go to bed Baek”

“Are you sleepy?”

“Mmm, sure… you go to bed and we’ll talk tomorrow” you lied while opening the fridge to drink some water, trying to cut off the conversation to let him go rest.

“Ah, so you’re already in bed?”

You hummed a yes shyly considering you were not a really good liar, or maybe he was really good at reading you and after saying goodbye, you just the tv to watch some weird Netflix documentary.

 

Suddenly you heard some noise and the door opened revealing your boyfriend standing there with a black bag in his hands with the fakest surprised face.

“Y/N??? So you lied to me!! HOW COULD YOU???” A hand on his chest and his mouth opened, he reached you to the couch and jokingly pushed you as his eyes went to the screen.

“And you’re watching… flat Earth conspiracy theories??” This time his confused expression was real and you couldn’t help but laugh while his eyebrows knit together trying to catch on what the man at the tv was saying.

“And what are you doing here babe? Don’t you have a meeting in like… 4 hours?”

He smiled reaching for you as his lips captured yours in a tender kiss.

He kept giving you butterfly kisses through all your face as you giggled, Baekhyun was indeed the sweetest man alive.

“I do… but… you can’t sleep, and I want to help… because you’re like… my favourite person? No, wait… let’s say the third”

It was your time to fake a shocked expression as he moved you under him, trapping you under his body.

“I thought I was the second?” you replied laughing.

He smiled sweetly, caressing your cheeks with his soft hands and moving your hair from your forehead to place a kiss there too.

He then kissed your cheek, his eyes were dark but kind, his breath warm against you.

“I’m sorry I didn’t call earlier, I thought you were already sleeping”

He kissed your ear, then the soft skin of your neck as every muscle in your body loosened up, you closed your eyes as he kept kissing you.

“I will pick you up from work tomorrow, I will call you at lunch… I will make sure you’re healthy…”

His soft lips captured yours once again but this time the kiss was slower, more sensual as his tongue met yours.

“Baek… it’s fine, days like this happen”

You finally answered when he let go of you, placing his hands on your cheek and looking at you like you were the finest piece of jewellery. 

He kissed your nose, smiling as he caressed your hair.

“You know I’ll do anything for you, right? Anything to make you smile, to make things at least a little less hard for you.”

“I know…” you answered, a little taken aback by the sudden confession.

“I love you, I know I always say it like it’s a joke but it really isn’t. I do love you. A lot.”

He began kissing you again, repeating his statement every time his lips touched your skin, imprinting his love all over your body to never make you forget.
