Kim moaned at the sound of someone breathing near her ear. She had woken up after feeling an arm enveloping her body and practically ‘spooning’ her from behind. At first, she thought it was Amu and didn’t mind that the girl is hugging her in her sleep. However, she couldn’t help but think how the sound of the breathing somehow didn’t match Amu’s petite body. It sounded like it was coming from a grown man with fully expanded lungs, “This doesn’t sound like Amu. Is it Rio?”, she sensibly thought of the possibility it might be the other girl in the room, while trying to fight half of herself still asleep.

The body from behind moved in closer to her back and practically buried his face in her hair. Kim cluelessly twirled her body around to face the other side… She blinked twice after seeing Kei’s complexion just a few inches near her face. Their noses nearly touched, making the poor girl experience a mini heart attack so early in the morning.

“AHHHHHHHH!”, she shouted. She sat up and curled at the far end of the bed, “WHAT THE HELL KEI?!”, she continued to raise her voice and threw a pillow at the sleeping boy. This consequently disturbed his peaceful sleep.

“Nandayou~ what’s with all the shouting?”, Kei innocently covered one of his ears to get rid of Kim’s voice piercing through his ear drums. By now, he is fully awake. Kei looked at the girl up and down with awe as this is a sight he does not see every day – Kim in cute pyjamas (which she borrowed from Rio), with bed hair sticking out, alongside her ‘I-woke-up-like-this’ look.

“Why are you here? Where’s Amu and Rio?”, Kim asked, almost in a shout.

“Rio-chan went with Ryo’s physio appointment and Amu went with them. She said she still can’t face Dai-chan after his confession last night”, he explained.

“That doesn’t answer my original question. WHY ARE YOU HERE?”

“Well, Dai-chan joined me in my futon and he kept hugging me while mumbling Amu’s name. At one point, he pinched part of my stomach”.

“Then why did you come here? There’s an empty bed in the room across the hall!”, Kim complained, referring to the vacant room in Rio’s apartment.

“Why would I go there when I know you’re sleeping here by yourself? Kim, sometimes you’re forgetting I’m a GUY!”, the older one uttered which somehow made Kim struggle to think of a good come back. With this, the young girl just sighed in defeat, “I gotta say, I didn’t regret coming here. Seeing you in your PJs is a must-see! You look adorable”.

Not minding the pink tint on her cheeks, Kim just pulled his sleeve, “Just come. I’ll make you some coffee”.

The couple walked towards the kitchen, passing by the living room where Daiki is still fast asleep. They tip toed their way to the dining table where they decided to get comfortable. Kim took the initiative to brew some coffee while Kei pulled his laptop from his bag, alongside numerous gadgets: earpieces, trackers, speakers and all sorts of wired ‘stuffs’ Kim couldn’t comprehend.

“What are you doing?”, Kim asked as she place a white mug near Kei’s elbow leaning on the table. She curiously leaned over to his side to see what kind of geeky stuff he’s been working on.

“Amu and Dai-chan recorded some stuff from the listening devices I installed in the office. I figured I can run through them now and see if they captured anything useful”, he replied with a serious face. Kim adored how focused he is when it comes to his work. He’s like a totally different person when he put his mind into something.

“I don’t know why, but this Yamamoto guy seems very suspicious to me”, Kei uttered after listening to Yamamoto’s recordings. The man he’s suspecting is the same guy who was hitting on Kim and hearing his voice somehow made his skin crawl.

“Why? Did he say something to make you suspect him?”

“No. Not yet. But he was flirting with you last time, so I just hate him”, Kim face-palmed herself and supressed her urges to strangle the latter. It amuses her how he can make random comments at random times. Little did she know, Kei was dead serious and was so jealous that day up to a point he wanted to punch Yamamoto for even talking to the girl he likes.

“Takamura and Watanabe can be liable suspects as well. Ever since my uncle died, they’ve been after Ryosuke’s position. They’ve been controlling the company’s projects now, so I have a bad feeling that they have something to do with Yama-chan’s accident”, Kim made a good point while she strikes a thinking pose.

Kei couldn’t help but smile on how passionate she is. He’s currently addicted to Kim’s every move, making his will to protect her grow stronger.

“What?”, Kim noticed the boy directly staring at her, almost never blinking, “Is there something on my face?”

“Yes”

“What is it?”, she used the back of her palm to wipe off bits from her face while waiting for Kei's answer.

Kei completely ignored her question and continued to stare at her plump cheeks, “Kim-chan, you look like someone I know”, he finally spoke, his face was still serious and his eyes never left Kim.

“Who?”

“You look like my future girlfriend”

Awkward Silence.

Kim felt the corner of her eye twitch in annoyance and just couldn’t fight the urge to strangle him anymore. Hearing this, she stood up and positioned herself in front of Inoo and playfully placed both of her hands on his neck.

“YOU BETTER FIND WHO WANTS TO KILL MY COUSIN, OR ELSE… I’LL BE THE ONE KILLING YOU!”, Kim shouted with her hands still gripped on Kei’s neck. Her hold was not very tight but enough to make the poor boy gasp for air.

“A-a-ahh… Kim-chan, I-I c-can’t b-breathe”, Kei said playfully.

“Isn’t it a bit early to be flirting?”, Daiki dragged both his feet in the middle of the dining room after being woken up by the sound of the KimKei couple bantering like always. Kei was thankful for Daiki’s rescue as for it wasn’t for his entrance, Kim may be successful in making him half dead.

“Thank Dai-chan for saving your ”, Kim said before her eyes landed on Daiki’s figure helping himself with some coffee.

“Where are the others?”, Daiki asked, referring to Rio, Yamada and Amu. He took a second glance outside the room before taking a sip from his cup.

“Rio went to take Yama-chan to his physio appointment. I think they’ll be removing his splint and check is he’s okay to walk on his own without his crutches”, Kei informed, “And as for Amu-chan… she went with them because she’s shy to face her new boyfriend”, he continued, his tone somehow changed into a teasing one.

“Boyfriend?”, Daiki wondered. By this time, he has absolutely NO idea about his accidental confession the night before.

“Yeah, since you confessed in your sleep last night, she’s still kinda in shock about it”

Silence.

It took Daiki almost two minutes to process what the older one just said, “What are you talking about?”, he asked in confusion.

“You know, that confession you did last night when you fell asleep on her shoulder… “Amu-chan, I like you. Please be my girlfriend”, Kim imitated Daiki’s words from the night before.
