Woo-hoo, short update but yay.

"Where the were you, Im?"

"Hey, sis, calm down, okay? I'm your superior here. You have utterly no right to talk to me like-"

"Im Nayeon, stop already with that bull. You didn't show up to one of the most important meetings of the year."

"Every meeting is important, plus, I'm pretty sure you were perfect there."

Miss Park exhales out of exasperation.

"Listen, Im, I don't know what's going on in your life right now, but you need to give your work more time; you can't be all the time away like that. Where do you even go all those Mondays! You're away all day! And-"

Nayeon sighs, and a noise indicates that she's resting her body leaned on her desk.

Park keeps ranting and yelling at her friend while Nayeon remains silent, letting all her words stab her.

"You're irresponsible and selfish. This company is yours. It depends on you. You're the one who did everything, with no help, all alone, okay then there was me, there were your friends, then Sana, but it's you who made this successful. Without you, it can't work. You know damn well that I can't bear your work. I have enough with mine. And no, never will I take your place, even if you beg on your knees for that."

Nayeon murmurs something, her voice breaks.

"What did you say?" Jihyo's voice softens from her accusing tone.

Her shoes clack on the hard floor until the sound of her steps gets muffled on the carpet close to the CEO's desk.

She sighs and takes a concerned tone: "Nay, what's going on?"

"I'm sorry, it's-"

In the meanwhile, a young girl in her twenties with long silky black hair and sharp eyes approaches my bureau. I need some seconds to recognize her as she walks towards me; it's crazy how her cold aura still gets me slightly intimidated.

"Mina? What are you doing here?"

"Oh, Sana, right, 'forgot that you work here, I'm looking for your boss, Im Nayeon."

"Uh? What did you- why do you want to see her? You know her?"

Mina's look floats around the room until she stumbles upon the white door all the way at the bottom of the room. Her glance goes back to me and gets intense.

"I- Uhm-"

As she starts mouthing, is it that door, I already tell her a mousey yes, and she disappears from my sight.

I release the breath I didn't know I was holding. "Damn, she's scary." I mentally tell myself.

Nayeon's POV: As I almost was to tell my friend Jihyo about this morning, the Japanese girl I dreaded getting too close to entered the room. "Myoui, don't you know how to knock" I exclaim with a frown, frustrated with being interrupted when I was about to release my feelings to someone. The young woman raises an eyebrow at my COO.  I had sort of forgotten that they didn't know each other. I shift towards my colleague and: "oh, right, Jihyo, I forgot to introduce you two." Jihyo looks at me with a skeptical leer. "Park Jihyo, Im Company's chief operating officer, meet Myoui Mina, my best student and future collaborator." Jihyo moves her gaze to the girl: "THE Myoui Mina, heir of Myoui Corp?" Mina nods nonchalantly with a small self-sufficient smirk that peeves me. I decide to stare at the rubber bush beside my worktable. "Nice to meet you, Miss Park. Looking forward to working with you." "Hmm, likewise," Park says with a professional demeanour and with an eyebrow quirked upwards. She looks at me with questioning scrutiny. "Student?" "Err, that, well, yes, I already told you, right? I am a professor at Seoul's JYP University." "Huh, interesting," she says in a playful tone while watching Mina sitting on the couch, spreading out the content of her files on the coffee table; Jihyo then looks at me with a slight bitter smile.
