The Greatest Gift
If You Were Gay
The New Couple: Yoon Bomi ♥ Park Chorong
Bomi was getting excited just thinking about it. Today's sneaky reverse surprise.
The moment she and Chorong started dating, she was aware that Hayoung's matchmaker date -like a backup plan sitting in her back pocket- was about to be... a bit more unexpected to Hayoung, to say the least.
Hayoung texted her a reminder that she had to be there way earlier than Chorong could potentially get there by. The neighbours all knew about this forgiveness present that Hayoung had worked hard to find for her roommate. So, all Bomi needed to do was show up, hiding behind a tree until given the cue to come out. And it might've seemed unnecessary, but the college student wanted to make sure that the moment of Bomi's entrance would be perfect, and requested Bomi to come early to rehearse that moment with her, like two idiots playing peek-a-boo in the park.
The fact that Chorong wanted to face her neighbours and be honest with herself on this same special day just made it a thousand times better.
Hayoung didn't know how lucky she was that Chorong was ready to forgive and come out, and Bomi was her surprise forgiveness gift.
Bomi chuckled at the thought. Without Chorong to calm her down, she was too excited this morning, always grinning to herself and hopping around to get her nervous energy out.
She couldn't wait to see the look on her girlfriend's face when the time came to present her gift. This was so cheesy. Hopefully, it all turns out fine and Chorong doesn't freak out too much. Hehe~
I think I'm the greatest gift for you, unnie.
That's how Chorong came out again. This time, to her neighbours and to Hayoung; her roommate and ultimately the instigator to her woes in this journey to her true sense of self. Must she keep coming out to everyone she knows? I guess this is what you have to get used to. It's not like she could pull out a megaphone and announce it to the world.
Coming out can be something that happens again and again. It's a matter of being comfortable with it, and lessening the pressure you give to those words.
"Chorong unnie, there's someone I'd like you to meet, okay?"
What the! Is she imagining things? Is that really her? Is that really Yoon Bomi? But she- But Bomi said-
It was over when Bomi kissed her. Those lips that fit hers so well, hitting her with that delicious scent like it was her oxygen, engulfing her, expressing that excitement to see her.
And Chorong returned the amorous feeling, swaying into the kiss with a relaxed happiness where words had failed her in her surprise.
Bomi was here with her. She wasn't dreaming after all. For that one moment, their world was nothing but each other.
Chorong was so happy to feel her, to see her, to be with her, to kiss her, when Bomi had originally said she wouldn't be here. Here. Here, with the neighbours... oh!
Oh...
Shy and hiding behind Bomi, Chorong was flaming and embarrassed that their PDA was witnessed by others. She couldn't even complain because she had been just as into it. And everyone saw. Bomi was a wildcard, but Chorong reciprocating might have been the most shocking part of it all.
On the other hand, Bomi was glowing in pride; whether it was from kissing her girlfriend, or because her girlfriend came out to everyone, or maybe it was both! Only moments ago, she had been smiling in her hiding spot behind the tree like a proud partner, wriggling her toes in anticipation.
In congratulating the new couple, everyone became a total ruckus.
"OUR INNOCENT CHORONGIE-"
"ARE YOU BOTH GAY-"
"HOW LONG HAVE YOU TWO BEEN DATING??"
"OH MY GAD THEY'RE CHO-BOM-"
"HAYOUNG'S GIFT-"
"THE EARLY SPRING CAME EARLY-"
"SO BOMI WAS THE BOYFRIEND FROM CANADA??"
Chorong spluttered, "Wha- NO!"
"And that's it. That's how it all happened," Chorong finished the story sitting proudly with her hands in her lap.
"Hm, so you've only been dating for less than a week," Hayoung put it plainly.
"Uhh, well," Chorong scratched her neck, trying to make it sound better. "There were growing feelings before that."
The youngest whistled. "Damnnn, girls move fast! By the way you kissed, I would've thought you've been dating for a while."
The couple blushed inwardly remembering all the times they've kissed.. Maybe they'll soon start to lose count. As the number only continues to increase and blur together, the kisses only seem to get better and better.
"I felt so betrayed, you know!" Hayoung went on to gab. "For a long moment, I thought unnie had a secret lover this whole time she didn't tell me about."
"W-Well, when you meet someone you click with so well, time becomes such a social construct I guess.." Chorong tried to shrug.
Bomi agreed in her own way, "Yeah I keep wondering why I didn't meet Chorong unnie years ago. We really fit so well."
"I wasn't out then, you dummy."
"Oho, well maybe if I met you then, I could've gotten you out with me sooner," she flirted.
"Okay, stop, but also don't stop because you two are adorable," Hayoung couldn't help cringing at the same time, but she was really happy for them. They were indeed a great fit and the chemistry was all there. "No wonder I picked Bomi unnie. You two are really perfect for each other. And what are the slim chances that Bomi unnie would find my ad too? This is just amazing!"
