Black Thunder
Description
A meeting with a movie director lands rising actress Ahn Sowon’s evening in a glass of spiked wine and then an abduction. She’s called in to pay a debt her father had owed—a debt so huge that he’d ended his life to avoid it.
Then, she’s broken out by a rival gang and their leader, Kim Jongdae, offers her a bargain: in exchange for ridding her of her debt, she helps him steal his magic back. They say he’s notorious for being merciless and cruel, that he murdered his way up the ranks, and that deals should not be made with those who can’t be trusted to honor them.
But it’s always easier said than done, and Sowon has no option but to agree.

A careless run in is all it takes for a thief to snatch Jongdae’s magic. With his power gone, he’s left running one of the most powerful mafias of the city of Reiia but with no legitimate right to his title.
His only chance in retrieving his power lies with Ahn Sowon, whose father happened to owe his biggest enemy a debt. He manages to save her in time to strike a deal: to repay her debt, she must find his magic and return it to him before it’s too late.
But it’s a race against time itself, and one slip can destroy everything Jongdae has worked to build.
Foreword
Hi, it's me, the person who is incapable of self control and making stories the length she says they will be. I'll give you a rough estimate of 30 chapters for this one, but knowing me, it's going to be 60. I hope not. This was supposed to be a short fic, as they all start out to be :)
Anyway, there's been an influx of mafia AUs on AFF, some good, some with debately questionably content (can we STOP romanticizing abuse? Thanks), but I will be trying my hand at it. And yes, there's magic, because I am incapable of thinking of an engaging plot any other way.
A couple of things:
>First of all, credits to my lovely, lovely beta Korekrypta. Not only does she catch my ugly typos, which exist in abundance, but she came up with like 60% of the plot while I was rambling to her, lol. She's also the author of The Blood Brother Code, the ultimate mafia!au that everyone should read :)
>I don't know how much I'll be updating. I'm super busy and the semester JUST started, so there's that. Please DO NOT pester me for updates—you can nicely ask when the next time I update will be, but I won't tolerate repeated harrassment or demands for updates. Do it twice and you'll be blocked. No exceptions.
