Lion King Chapter 8

 DO whistled as loud as he can. The smoke is now filling the entire room. DO tried to hide his mother from it but it was getting too much, even DO is having a hard time breathing. 
“DO! Are you in there?” 
DO heard Kai’s voice outside.
“We’re trapped inside.” Said DO
DO heard loud banging sounds from outside. And then the door burst open. Kai and Suho went inside. They immediately helped DO and DO’s Mother out.
“What happened?” asked Kai. “Why is your house on fire?”
“My sister… wanted to kill us.” Said DO, coughing.
“No… Hwasa? Her lunacy has brought her to this extent, the board has to stop her.” Said Suho
“Lisa needs blood… I was going to volunteer mine.” Said DO
Kai’s jaw clenched.
“My sister wanted to stop me from giving my blood” said DO. 
“She’s their daughter, DO… the traitor couple… the reason why my mother died.” Said Kai
DO could see the pain in Kai’s eyes.
“I can not give her my blood, DO. I can’t… I don’t even know if I can face her.” Said Kai
“She’s one of us, Kai.” DO grabbed Kai’s collar. “She’s maybe their daughter but we know Lisa… she was with us longer than she was with her parents. She is one of us… a Troupe warrior.”
Kai looked away.
Suho also looked away.
“So many of our clan suffered in the hands of Panthers. How can I just go there as if I did not see all their sufferings.” Said Suho
“No matter how many years she’s with us… nothing can bring my mother back.” Said Kai. “I’m sorry DO… I will not be able to help on this one.”
“She was willing to sacrifice her life fighting along side us. Do you just forget that because of her past?” asked DO. “She’s… still family… right?”

Chanyeol reached his house and sank on the floor. He felt like all the energy is drained from his body and memories flood his mind… the memories of that night of horror when his father died in the hands of Panthers and his sister was gone. 
Chanyeol closed his eyes. 
It was Lisa’s parents… Lisa was that young girl back then… why? Why is this happening?
“Father!”
Chanyeol opened his eyes and saw his daughter, Heaven. She was kneeling beside him crying.
“What’s the matter?” asked Chanyeol 
Rose sat beside them
“Heaven heard Lisa was hurt in the dungeon.” Said Rose
“Aunt Lisa is not a bad person. She made the Commander promise to keep you home. Father… Aunt Lisa is a good person. Why do they have to hurt her?” asked Heaven
“It’s because her parents did something bad.” Said Chanyeol
“I am not asking what her parents did, Father. I am asking what Aunt Lisa did.” Said Heaven
Chanyeol could not answer.
“If she did nothing wrong… if it was her parents who did it… why are they punishing Aunt Lisa?” asked Heaven
“Because that’s the way of Vishox, little one. The sin of the parent is the sin of the child.” Said Chanyeol
“Does that mean… does that mean all the people who were hurt in your missions will go after me to take their revenge too? Father… does that mean I will also need to be punished?” asked Heaven
Chanyeol’s eyes widened. Rose bit her lip tight as a tear fell from her eyes.
“C’mon Heaven… Your father is tired. We have to let him rest.” Said Rose
Chanyeol took a deep breath. How can he rest when his mind is in turmoil?

Jisoo allowed DO to enter the room. The warrior looked dirty as if he came out of the fire.
“You have burns all over you.” Said Jisoo. “You have to be treated first.” 
“Please check my blood if it matches with Lisa. You can treat my burn later.” Said DO
Jisoo could see the determination in DO’s eyes. Having heard what transpired in the clan… she knew DO’s coming here is a big sacrifice… he is willing to be called a traitor to save Lisa.
 Jisoo proceed to check DO’s blood. It was a stressful wait. And when the result came out, they were all disappointed. DO’s blood did not match Lisa’s.
Sehun entered the room then and was surprised to see DO.
“I… did not match with her blood.” Said DO
Sehun patted DO’s shoulder.
“Thank you for trying.” Said Sehun. “Lisa… would be happy to know you did not turn your back on her.”
“But… I may have turned my back on the clan.” Said DO
Sehun sighed.
“For people who care about Lisa… we have a very difficult situation in the clan right now. I will not judge you. I know ypu did what you think is right.” Said Sehun. “Do you regret coming here?” 
“No… I do not. I would have regret if I did not come.” Said DO. “Lisa… is more important than what others will think.”
Sehun took a deep breath as he nodded.
“Let us hope some others would come… I understand why many would not be willing to share their blood with my mate but… I hope the heavens will send help… soon.” Said Sehun

Jisoo went downstairs to make some tea when she saw V seated by the kitchen.
“My Lord.” Said Jisoo
“It’s almost morning.” Said V. “You did not sleep?”
Jisoo shook her head as she walked towards the kitchen.
“Lisa had fever. I could not leave her side.” Said Jisoo
“And Sehun?” asked V
“He was beside Lisa the entire time… his eyes never left her.” Said Jisoo. “He looked so worried and anxious… I wanted to take some  of his burdens.”
“Sehun will get through this. He is a strong warrior.” Said V
Jisoo sighed as her shoulders sank. She rubbed one of them with her hand. She stretched her neck sideways. 
V’s eyes narrowed. 
“I know Lisa needs utmost care but… you should not forget to sleep.” Said V
Jisoo turned to V. Is that… concern she heard in his voice? 
“I sometimes fall asleep on the chair while taking care of Lisa, My Lord. Every time I wake up from it, I feel like I am being negligent in taking care of her.” said Jisoo
V sighed
“If you get sick, what do you think will happen?” asked V. “You can not help any one if you are not in a fit condition. I don’t want to take a sick person back to the north. Take care of yourself.”
Jisoo bit her lip. She must’ve imagined it because the concern was suddenly gone from V’s voice.
“Do you think Lisa will be all right?” asked V
“We still do not know at this point. She had a fever and she still needs more blood.” said Jisoo. “You said Commander Sehun is a strong warrior that is why I should not worry about him but…I’m afraid being a strong warrior will not help in this case.” 
“And why is that?” asked V
 “When the woman he loves is on the brink of losing her life… it is not enough to be a strong warrior… he has to be a strong man.”
“I believe he is a strong man.” Said V. “Sehun had gone through so many things…”
Jisoo started boiling water.
“What are you doing?” asked V
“Tea… I’m making tea. Would you like some, My Lord?” asked Jisoo
V nodded.
“Sir Taeyong is not here?” asked Jisoo
“He is flying around to check the surrounding.” Said V. “You often ask about Taeyong.”
 “Oh… I was just asking because he may also want some tea.” Said Jisoo
“He will not want one.” Said V
“Huh?”
Jisoo tried to reach the can of tea but it was too high. It almost fell on Jisoo but V caught it. Jisoo turned around to see V standing directly in front of her. When she lifted her head to look at V, their faces almost touched. Jisoo looked away.
“You should be careful.” Said V. “The tea might’ve fallen on the floor and get wasted.”
“Oh… the tea… you were worried about the tea.” Said Jisoo. 
V took two steps back.
“The tea is more important than my head then.” Said Jisoo
V closed his eyes quickly.
“Just be careful.” Said V. “You are always clumsy.”
Jisoo sighed
“Yes, My Lord.”

Chanyeol and the Troupe members were gathered together.
“The lead we had regarding the Elder was false. I wonder how many more times we are going to face false leads before we actually find the Eastern Elder.” Said Suho.
“This  mission is proving to be too difficult.” Said Kai
DO sighed
“Are we really going to keep talking about the Eastern Elder when one of us is greatly injured and needs our help?” asked DO
Everyone was silent.
“I went to see Lisa last night.” Said DO
Some of the men’s eyes widened.
“I went there because I want to help her live. I… can’t just let her die.” Said DO. “But… my blood did not match hers.”
There was a long moment of silence.
“Is there nobody else who cares about Lisa? Does everyone think she’s a traitor because of who her parents were? Did all the memories of our years together with Leon or Lisa just faded away?” DO sighed. “Are you going to  just let her die?”
Chanyeol stood up.
“I’ve had enough.” Said Chanyeol.
“I am only speaking to your conscience. Lisa is one of us, a Troupe warrior. How can you suddenly think of her as nothing!” said DO
“Enough!” shouted Chanyeol
Chanyeol started laughing. And that made everyone alarmed.
“I spent the entire night thinking so you don’t have to keep nagging.” Said Chanyeol. “I… had no rest because I could not answer my daughter when she asked what Lisa did wrong.”
Chanyeol looked around at the men.
“Tell me… what did Lisa do?” asked Chanyeol
Nobody could answer.
“She was born to the parents who betrayed us.” Said Kai
“And is that her fault? Can she choose her parents?” asked Chanyeol
Kai looked away.
“My father died in the hands of Panthers… my sister was gone for a very long time… I  lost my family that night… it was the darkest moment of my life… the pain is still so real… I know how  you feel… because just like your pain, it’s still here  in my chest.”
Chanyeol took a  deep breath. And then he shook his head.
“My seven year old daughter… Heaven asked me if she is going to face the same fate as Lisa. Lisa was also seven back then.  Heaven knows we have many enemies and she asked me… if she will also bear my sins… She asked me… if it was right for her to be punished too.” Said Chanyeol
A tear fell from Chanyeol’s eyes.
“I realized then what Lisa’s father must have gone through… the Panthers must’ve threatened Lisa’s life and the man did not have the heart to let his child die…” said Chanyeol. “Because like him… Before any responsibility I have for the clan… my responsibility as a father comes first.”
Kai closed his eyes tight. 
“So I decided to give my blood to Lisa in order to save her.” said Chanyeol. “We may not have the same decision over this matter but… know that this is the last favor I am going to give Lisa… for my daughter’s sake.”
And then Chanyeols walked away.
DO sighed.
“Thank heavens.” He whispered.

Chanyeol went to Lisa’s room but stopped when he saw Rose lying on a mattress near Lisa.
“What are your doing here?” asked Chanyeol.
“I was sure I’d see you here.” Said Rose. “So… I went here ahead of you just so that we can save time.”
“What do you mean?” asked Chanyeol
Jisoo smiled.
“Rose’s blood matched with Lisa.” Said Jisoo. “We are now in the process of transferring blood.”
Chanyeol turned to Rose. Rose smiled at him with tears in her eyes.
“Heaven will be happy to know what her parents  did today.” Said Rose. “She  will be proud that her parents saved another Lion’s life.”
Chanyeol took a deep shaky breath as he kissed Rose’s head.
“Is she going to be fine?” asked Chanyeol
“Rose is going to be all right. After the blood transfer, I am going to give her some herbs to boil so that she could regain her energy. She might feel a bit dizzy or may have a headache today. So she just has to be a bit careful.” Said Jisoo
“And Lisa?” asked Chanyeol
“She’s recovering pretty well the past days. The blood will boost her strength.” Said Jisoo. 
Sehun then entered the room.
“Chanyeol… can I have a word with you?” asked Sehun
Chanyeol nodded.
“Go ahead.” Said Rose
Sehun led Chanyeol out of the room. As soon as the door closed, Sehun pulled Chanyeol into a tight hug. Chanyeol was surprised.
“You have no idea… no idea… how much this means to me.” Said Sehun
“I think I do.” Said Chanyeol. “More than anyone… a mated  man should know how terrible it is when your mate’s life is at risk.”
 “Thank you.” Said Sehun. “Knowing who she really is… you still came  here… I…”
Sehun pulled back and Chanyeol saw the tears in Sehun’s eyes.
“I have no words to say how thankful I am.” Said Sehun
Chanyeol cleared his throat to stop himself from shedding a tear.
“What… do you plan to do?” said Chanyeol. “Once Lisa recovers… there is still the clan to think of. They will never accept her as your mate.”
“I… already have a plan… I  already arranged things but…” said Sehun. “I do not think it is safe for Lisa to stay in the clan.”
“You are sending her away?” asked Chanyeol
Sehun nodded.
“It’s the only way I can keep her safe from everyone’s revenge.” Said Sehun. “Did you see her wounds? That burn mark? There are people here in this clan who has deep hatred over my Lisa and until that threat is gone, I need to keep her away.”
“Is that all right with you?” asked Chanyeol.
“No.” said Sehun. “I… want  her beside me at all times. I want her close. I want to  protect her myself and I want… I need her.” Said Sehun. “But… I can’t be selfish… She needs to live.”

Sehun sat beside Lisa. He told Jisoo he will look after Lisa and that Jisoo has to rest. Just sitting here and seeing Lisa sleeping is enough to make Sehun’s chest ache. 
Lisa looked better now… she has color on her cheeks now. Some of  her wounds are healing too. Sehun reached for Lisa’s face and touched Lisa’s cheek near the burn. It will definitely leave a mark but… but  it does not change the fact that Lisa is still beautiful. She has never been as beautiful as she is now… alive.
Sehun thanked heavens and all the people who helped Lisa… It feels like he owes them his  own life.
Lisa’s eyes fluttered  and then it slowly opened. Lisa’s brows narrowed as she focused on Sehun.
“Co… Commander…” said Lisa
“Do you want water?” asked Sehun
Lisa nodded.
Sehun took a glass of water and helped Lisa to drink it. And then he helped Lisa to lay down.
Lisa’s eyes looked worried as she looked at Sehun.
“Did they tell you…about me? About who my parents are?” asked Lisa
“Let us not talk about that yet.” Said Sehun.”"You must regain strength first. Do not worry about it for now.”
“But… you must hate me now…”
“Hush… there is a proper time to talk about those things. Right now… I want you to rest and recover your strength.” Said Sehun.
Lisa took a deep breath and felt the pain all over her body.
“Should I call Jisoo?” asked Sehun
“Jisoo came?” asked Lisa
Sehun nodded
“She came here as soon as V told her I need her help to treat you.” Said Sehun
“She shouldn’t have  come… she came all the way here just to treat a clan traitor like me.” Said Lisa. “Even King V came.” 
“Jisoo came because that’s who Jisoo is, she always goes where she is needed.” Said Sehun. “V and Taeyong came because they’re my brothers. When they know I need help, they will come without question.”
Lisa closed her eyes.
“It must feel nice to have people like that around you… people who cares for you… and who will come to you when you need them.” Said Lisa. “when I found the troupe… I thought I found them… the people I will care about and who will care about me… a family….”
Sehun’s jaws tightened as his eyes burned with unshed tears for his mate… his mate who only wanted to belong… his  mate to worked hard to be one of the warriors… and yet in the end… everything ended up nothing.
 “I don’t know what reason I still have to keep being alive.” Said Lisa. “If I am no longer part of the Troupe… then what am I?”
You are my Mate! You are my light! Sehun wanted to say that but… he can’t…  he has to protect Lisa at all cost… even if it costs him pain.
“Rest for now.” Said Sehun. “Whatever tomorrow brings... you will need strength to face it.”

Taeyong and V met Sehun in the forest.
“Taeyong told me about the favor you asked of him. Are you sure about your plan, Brother?” asked V
“I… have to do it… for Lisa.” Said Sehun.
“I have given Taeyong permission to stay in the east until you tell him he is no longer needed here.” Said V
“Thank you, brother.” Said Sehun “How is my cousin?” 
“Jisoo seemed to have helped her a lot. She can now move around.” Said V.
“I told you Jisoo is a miracle worker.” Said Taeyong.
“No she’s not. She’s just stubborn. She doesn’t stop until she finds a cure.” Said V
Sehun smiled.
“And that’s why she’s the best healer in the entire Vishox. Before someone dies in her hands, she would have moved heaven and earth to heal him first.” Said Sehun.
“Perseverance.” Said V.
“Huh?” asked Taeyong.
“She has…perseverance.” Said V. “Because she cares a lot… sometimes… too much.”
Taeyong nodded.
“That’s true.” Said Taeyong. “She’s an admirable woman….Healer… I mean an admirable healer.”
Taeyong smiled at V but V ignored him. 
“And how’s Irene?” asked Sehun
“Since when were you concerned about Irene, Sehun?” asked Taey
