It's almost summer vacation and 2 weeks since Irene and Wendy stopped talking to eachother. Wendy didn't know anymore and how to reply to Irene’s confession. And Irene just was Irene, cold and distant again. Even if she saw Wendy, she could just walk away with those hurtful eyes which still haunts Wendy sometimes.   “Doesn't Kai seem so depressed lately?” Jackson asked suddenly, eating the leftovers. He might even the plate if he's given the chance too, Yeri's thought actually.   “I noticed it too, don't you know anything?” Seulgi asked back because Jackson was close to Kai more than the others so it seemed relevant for him to know.   “I don't know anything rather than him being stupid.” Jackson cracked a smile.   “Oh shut up es, if someone who is dating is depressed means only one thing” Joy, the love guru started off whilst looking cool (in her own view)   “Care to tell us what it is?” Yeri said with fake enthusiasm, which made Joy glare her to death.   “He had a fall out with Irene” Joy said as a matter of fact, clicking her tongue and shaking her head at her dumb friends.   “Let's just change the topic.” Wendy sighed for the ninth time. Hearing ‘Irene’ gave her some kind of panic attacks recently.    “Let's just ask Kai when he shows up.” Jackson said, completely ignoring the ‘change the topic’ words.    Seulgi noticed the irritated expression plastered on Wendy so she changed the topic, “What's the plan this summer vacation?”    Joy's eyes lit up instantly, “Thank god you asked. So…”   “Oh, cool, we don't care, moving on to Wendy unnie” Yeri blurted and had a smirk, it was always amazing to tease Joy and she will never stop it.   “Why are you always butting in?” Joy smacked the girl lightly but she wanted to smack her to death, but let's just keep that thought inside.   Wendy clicked her tongue, annoyed by them, so she answered, “I'm going to Canada with my family.”   “Seriously unnie? In summer vacation?” Yeri made a judgemental face, asking Seulgi if Wendy went crazy or something. It was the worse choice especially on Summer vacation.   “They want to, so I can't say anything. Mom wishes to visit Canada at least.” Wendy said because it was her mother's wish to go somewhere far with the family, so they planned this whole vacation out to surprise their dear mother. She just wants her mother to be happy.   “Well, at least you're going somewhere, I have to be stuck here at my grandparents house.” Seulgi said back, can't even smile because of that. She always went to her grandparents house in the holidays, it's not like she doesn't like it there but she's getting bored by going there all the time.   “I'm going on a trip with my cousins.” Jackson simply said, not implying where, so none asked.   “What about you, Yeri-ah?”    Yeri yawned, “Gonna sleep the whole vacation.”   “What more can we expect from her?” Joy said with a groggy voice.   “So, can I talk about my trip now?” Joy said while clasping her hands together with a happy face, finally getting a chance to disclose her summer trips.   But it had to be ruined by the lover boy who looked as if someone shot him right at his heart. Joy slammed her fork down getting mad by the situation but soon calmed herself down because Kai looked like .    “What's up with you?” Joy asked moving away a little to make space for Kai to sit on, but the boy looked as if no one was around him.   “I think I just got dumped” Kai sadly implied as he sat down with a gloomy face. No one reacted or was stunned because they had known it wouldn't last for a long period. Well, wendy was definitely shocked.   “I knew it wasn't going to last.” Joy muttered silently but the whole table heard it and send her some ‘read the situation’ look.    Yeri cleared her voice, “Oppa, I'm sure it's going to be okay”   “What did she say actually?”   Kai felt really useless because he really did like Irene, she was witty and could be funny sometimes. He didn't understand the reason why Irene wanted to end so soon, can't they just stay like that?    “What did she say actually?” Jackson asked, Wendy took a sip of her water, all distressed. Is this how it's supposed to be? She can't seem to figure out what Irene is thinking.   Kai put his head down, and breathed, “She was polite about it, she said she didn't want to hurt me further by staying in a relationship.”   “Hurt you? In what way?”    Kai looked up and stared at his friends, who had their eyes on him. He felt weak, he didn't feel quite this with his previous exes, maybe because it's Irene; y and smart.   “She said she's falling in love..”   Jackson snorted, while Seulgi tried to cheer the guy up, “Well, isn't that wonderful?”   Kai shot a cold glare, “..with someone else”   All of them kept their lips zipped and tried not to make any reaction, but Wendy felt herself getting nervous again, do they hear the thump of her heart in this silence? She wondered. She shouldn't be thinking about Irene and why she had to do this to Kai. She felt sad for Kai but Irene, ever so mysterious and…charming in a way. That someone is definitely her, she knew it. So, the guilt came across her, she was the one to do this to Kai. She felt sorry immediately.   “That's some cold ” Jackson muttered while patting his friend.   “ isn't cold” Yeri replied back, offended my how everyone seems to be dumb and stupid nowadays.   “It doesn't matter whether it's cold or not. Irene, I really didn't like her.” Joy said.   “At least, she gave a good breakup?” Yeri said as a matter of fact, she liked the fact that Irene was honest and did the right thing. But her dumb unnies might think otherwise, so she stayed mum after that.   “I'm sorry.” Wendy said out of the blue.   “Irene should be saying that. How can she love someone else while in a relationship?” Seulgi voiced out because it was already crazy now. She can't seem to trust Irene and even like her a little bit.    “Always knew she was a .” Jackson said which seemed to have triggered Wendy. She instantly glared at the boy.   “We can't know when we will fall in love, we can't predict it.” Wendy said defensively. It was not her business but Irene did matter to her even after what happened, Irene was a human being and also a friend to Wendy.   Joy widened her eyes, “Are you taking her side?”   “It's not about sides, Joy.” Wendy replied, already clenching her hand.   “Can we just come in terms that Irene is crazy and insane? She's a playgirl who constantly changes guy, we can even call her a at this point.” Joy said, ranted with her face red. Why was she even trying? She seemed to hold something against Irene, why could she hate her so much then?   “That's too far, Sooyoung.” Wendy almost yelled. The table turned out cold as Wendy never ever got mad like now, her ears were red and she was breathing too loudly. Wendy didn't like how they labeled Irene, she was far from that. Wendy doesn't think of Irene like that, even if the latter is mysterious and odd, she just sees Irene…as Irene who seems to have too much pain hidden inside. She just can't pinpoint the exact feeling.   Wendy realized what he has just done, so she abruptly stood up, “I'm…sorry. I'll leave first.”   Seulgi sighed as she saw the retreating figure of Wendy. She wanted to follow her but Joy needed someone too because the girl looked completely out of world right now. Wendy seemed to be acting different these days, avoiding every topic related to Irene and even the person herself but why did she just burst like that?   A sudden giggle by the one and only Yeri amused the others, Kai was still gloomy and Joy seemed disappointed and sad. “You guys are really fun. “So, why the library?” Wendy asked.   “I need to return this book and also I need help in business.” Yeri said as she showed the book she took from the library.
