The Love Forgotten

Morning came and Saku woke up from the sun rays beaming through the curtains, instead of getting up, he rolled over the other side of the bed to continue his nap as he is in no mood to work right now. He hoped that Eunbi will understand, after all, he's sure she sensed that something was clearly wrong with him yesterday, especially after she was asked to bring Wonyoung home when she knew the two had plans together.

"Hey, wake up." He gave a low grunt when he heard a familiar voice followed by a constant nudging on his shoulders. When he did not reply, the culprit spoke again.

"You're going to be late for work and I made breakfast." The Japanese bolted up from the bed upon hearing that, and when he did, he rubbed his eyes while letting out a small yawn.

Saku slowly made his way out of the bed with Minjoo following further behind him out of the room. The beauty studies the back of her ex fiancé as if wondering how she fell for him, she sees his sturdy back and it is something you could definitely rely on but for now, it is just slumped fragilely.

The two formerly engaged couple headed for the kitchen, where countless of delicious food awaits. Seeing the set up, Saku was taken aback, he wondered what pushed the younger girl to cook for their breakfast when usually, they would leave it all up to their cook since the beauty only cooks for him during special occasions and there is definitely no celebration to be made especially when she just called off their engagement. Or was she happy about it?

"Have a seat, Saku. The food's going to get cold since it took so long to wake you up." Minjoo spoke up and it cut off his thoughts.

When the ex couple finally took their seat, Saku made sure to leave one empty chair right in between, confusing the girl but lets him be. Breakfast was quiet since they wordlessly ate, not knowing what to say and perhaps, maybe they didn't want to say anything. On the other hand, the grey haired guy kept stealing glances at the girl and when Minjoo tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of Minjoo, obviously, he was stunned with the girl's out of this world visual.

"You're staring. What is it?" The brunette utters without sparing a glance, and caused Saku to awkwardly tear his gaze away and clear his throat.

"N-nothing." Saku replied with his eyes on his food. From there, he didn't dare to raise his head back and gaze at a certain beauty eating one chair away from him. The formerly engaged couple continued their breakfast in silence, air filled with awkwardness until Minjoo decided to break the thin ice between them.

"I'm sorry. Don't ask why because we both know that you know exactly why. So I'm sorry." The beauty utters, leaving the lad unmoving from where he is seated. Honestly, she doesn't know why she's apologizing out of the blue, she just felt like apologizing after what she did yesterday and when she remembered him crying last night but after saying that, the two of them were once again engulfed in silence.

"It doesn't matter." It sounded plain, but if you listened attentively, you can tell that he was in pain and Minjoo noticed that. Saku on the other hand, wanted to say more, it hurts him so much, but still he respected her decision. From the very beginning he's always been focused on the beauty's happiness and never on his own. He's satisfied as long as he knows she's happy.

"But I'm not going to give up on you, Min." This time, the two of them met each other's eyes.

Saku doesn't know why he said that but it just happens to slip off of his tongue and same as the lad, Minjoo is just as surprised hearing that.

She was about to say something when the grey haired guy's phone rang and she noticed a crease on his forehead when he checked to see the contact name, he then excused himself from the meal.

Curious, Minjoo followed him without his consent trying to hear the conversation.

"Jurina, why?" And as soon as Minjoo heard him say the caller's name, she felt uncomfortable.

Matsui Jurina from high school? Wasn't she the one who was a little too obsessed with him back then, the one who always asked for my help to set the two of them up? Why is she calling him this early in the morning? All these thought clouded up Minjoo's mind when she heard the name but when she heard Saku speak up again she listened on.

"Lunch? I can't, Yujin's got me that time... yeah dinner sounds good... ah no don't worry about it, my treat, I'll ask my secretary to take care of the place... alright see you later." When Saku dropped the call, he turned back to the kitchen and was taken aback when he saw Minjoo leaning against the countertop with her arms crossed, staring back at him with an unreadable expression.

"I-I'm... going to work?" That sounded more of a question than a statement, he anticipated the beauty to say something but all he got is a dead air. With that, he cleared his throat and made his way to their bedroom to prepare himself for work, leaving Minjoo feeling confused.

They're having dinner together?

That thought haunted the goddess even after Saku left for work making her feel restless and there's something tugging at the bottom of her heart, as if it's telling her something but she doesn't know what.

"Alright tiktok tiktok lunch time, hyung!" Once the clock hits twelve o'clock, Yujin came bursting into the CEO's office startling the older guy and almost making him drop all the papers he had on his desk.

"For crying out loud Ahn Yujin, I thought I told you to wait by the front desk." Saku utters with his hand clenching his chest tightly but the younger on the other hand, shrugged it off and dragged the CEO out of his office.

Walking down the hallway and right before they reached the elevator, they passed by Eunbi's office who saw them on their way, she had a smile plastered on her lips and she's just relieved to finally have the younger fix his mistakes. She was mouthing the words 'fighting' to Yujin who gave her a nod.

Yujin drove the grey haired guy to a simple diner that held all their memories together and when the owner caught a glimpse of the duo, he was ecstatic and immediately greeted the two. Yujin and Saku used to come here all the time when they were kids, up until high school. So it's safe to say that this small diner is their comfort zone.

Yujin had tried his best to act like nothing had happened between them and he was glad that Saku is not making it hard for him. Throughout the ride, none of them spoke, but unlike Saku and Minjoo's uncomfortable, awkward silence, the silence with Yujin is bearable, there is a bit awkwardness but it is something that both could handle. Both guys had fought so many times but they always did have a soft spot for one another, it is obvious that among the two, it is Saku who was forgiving and understanding and that when Yujin came around his ego and pride, the two had most likely made up and forgiven each other.

"Hyung, I'm really sorry." The blond guy said as he finally finds the courage to speak up but with his head held down, Saku on the other hand, dropped his food down to flick the former's forehead, who instantly hisses in pain.

"You know you're really stupid and impulsive, kid. I heard about what happened last night from Chaehyuk, our noona doesn't know how to hold back, I'm pretty sure it hurts doesn't it? You know Yehan's nose bled one time when noona slapped him for making Yuri cry." Saku couldn't help but chuckle remembering that and so did Yujin but eventually when the laughter subsided, the latter tightens his hold on the cutlery to prepare himself.

"But seriously hyung, I'm really sorry... I didn't know what came over me, I shouldn't have tried to win Minjoo back, heck I shouldn't have even thought about it, it's just that I thought I still love her but Wonyoung... she-" When the grey haired guy noticed him rambling, he decided to cut the younger one off.

"It's fine, I forgive you. You were flustered and you let your emotions take the drive, as much as I would like to hate you for being the cause of all of these mess, I couldn't because you're like a brother to me. I'm not sure if Wonyoung would still give you a chance, but for 's sake Yujin-ah, don't you ever try to hurt her ever again or I'll come after you. She loves you more than you could ever think. I know you love her too and I'm glad you finally came back to your senses." Saku held his clenched fist and by that time, tears were threatening to fall from Yujin's eyes. Seeing that, the older stood up from his seat and took the empty space besides his companion.

"H-hyung... I'm s-sorry, I caused y-you s-so much pa-pain... I was a j-jerk and I- hyung I'm s-sorry..." Yujin cried out as Saku drew small circles on his back with the palm of his hand.

As the two brothers finally reconciled with each other, a certain brunette on the other hand was left pacing back and forth in the living room.

It was only then when she heard the door opening and was greeted with the sight of Yuri holding her three year old daughter in her arms that she stopped from her pacing to greet them back.

"Well you seem bothered, what's wrong with you?" Her hamster looking friend asked as she casually made her way to the couch.

"Do you remember Matsui Jurina?" Minjoo asks and hearing that name, the younger girl's ears perked up.

"Matsui Jurina? As in that girl who had a crush on Saku ever since like, forever? No I don't. Why what's up with her?" She sarcastically replied which caused the beauty to roll her eyes on her friend.

"Yes that OBSESSED girl. She called Saku awhile ago during breakfast, and I overheard them talking, he said they're going to have dinner TOGETHER and it's HIS treat." Minjoo unconsciously emphasized a few words, which was noticed by Yuri who have a wide smirk at the edge of her lips.

"Aww would you look at that, our Minguri's jealous. Don't worry your guy is head over heels for you." The smaller girl teased, causing the said girl's eyes to go wide in realization.

"Yah I'm not j-jealous!" At this point of time, all Minjoo wanted is to disappear from earth as she cursed her own tongue for stuttering.

"Whatever floats your boat, mate. Did he mention where they will be having their date?" Yuri asked with obvious intention, and it seems to have worked when she saw the irked expression of the taller girl as she heard the last word.

"He said he'll leave it up to his secretary, and it's not a date, why are you assuming things. It might be for business purposes." Minjoo scoffed, only hyping Yuri's mood even more.

"Romantic date, friendly date, business date, whatever. It's still a date because it's only going to be the two of them. Come on chop chop let's head to his study." Yuri excitedly navigated her way to Saku's study and although somewhat confused, the older girl followed her still. Without a word, Yuri sat down on Saku's chair and pulled the laptop on the desk open while the beauty took her daughter in her arms.

"What's his password?" She asks but Minjoo gave her a mere shrug. The hamster rolled her eyes and tried out a few passwords such as Minjoo and Saku's anniversary, engagement date, her birthday, his birthday, and everything but nothing worked. But out of the ordinary, Yuri typed something which left the both of them surprised.

"Seriously? He never changed his password? It's been seven years and he's still using your name as his password?! Why can't Yehan be more like him! Look, he even got your prenup picture as his wallpaper." Minjoo was caught off-guard hearing Yuri's statement and went to take a peek at the picture.

She finds it weird seeing the photo when it is a clear proof that they did have a prenup and that they were indeed dating but she couldn't remember anything about it. With an unknown reason, she couldn't help but smile as she finds it rather sweet, making her remember what he said during breakfast.

I'm not going to give up on you, Min.

While she was busy to in her own thoughts her friend tried to find the grey haired guy's schedule.

"Oh wow! He's taking her to Maison's. That's one hella expensive restaurant for something business related, don't you think so Min?" Yuri said, seemingly trying to trigger something within the taller girl.

"He can take her wherever he likes now close that. Let's go out." Minjoo said albeit a little too harsh. Almost simultaneously, her phone vibrated so she took it out and Yujin's text message greeted her in an instant.

"Wonyoung-ah! Please just hear me out!" The blond haired guy yells right outside the maknae's house. She has been ignoring his calls, texts, and visits ever since their little vacation, making it harder for the lad to fix the mess that he started.

"I'm not going to leave until you talk to me, you know?" Yujin made sure to speak the words loud enough for Wonyoung to hear, he leaned his back against the door feeling hopeless when he doesn't hear any response. Meanwhile, the girl on the other side of the door had heard all of the pup like guy's pleads and is contemplating whether she should go talk to him or not. Up until now, she is still hurting and honestly, all she wants to do is to take a step forward and move on.

After minutes of contemplating, Wonyoung finally unlocked the door, causing Yujin to stand up in an instant and place his palm on the door knob the moment he heard a click.

"W-wonyoung... I'm going i-in, okay?" Little by little, he twisted the knob and he was greeted with the sight of Wonyoung with her head down as tears stream down from her eyes. Seeing that made him envelop the black haired girl in his arms and cause tears to form in his eyes as well.

"S-sorry..." Is all Yujin could say, with that, he apologized nonstop. He felt guilty after realizing that he's brought nothing but pain and suffering for the past ten years to this girl. How could he be so stupid and not realize it sooner.

After a few moments, Yujin then led the younger one to the living room, passing her a glass of cold water afterwards.

"Bunny please forgive me, I'm sorry please give me another chance. I'm sorry, I really am." He utters and reached out to her arms, but when Wonyoung pulled her hand back, Yujin felt a pang in his heart. They fell silent for a couple of minutes but the latter couldn't seem to think of what to say as he was caught off-guard with what happened.

"I've had enough Yujin-ah... I want to move on from you, for ten years I've been so focused on trying to win your heart when I should've stopped from the very beginning. I was stupid, I knew my chances were slim but I still went ahead with it. I kept my heart from loving someone else because I thought that you will eventually fall in love with me, but I guess I was wrong." Wonyoung chuckles sadly, leaving Yujin stunned, trying to process her words. But when the latter was about to say something, the younger one beats him to it.

"You know I will always forgive you, but I can't always give you a chance when I've given you so many, I guess this is the end of our journey together, let's just stay as friends because maybe, we're just not meant to be." The moment Wonyoung finished her statement, Yujin's heart broke into pieces.

Saku was doing his work when his secretary came inside the office, carrying a familiar paperbag. He raised a brow when his secretary placed the paperbag on his desk and closed his laptop as if she was suddenly his boss.

"What's that?" Saku gestured at the paperbag that his secretary was carrying.

"Food, Miss Minjoo gave it to me when I sent her the flowers you ordered and she specifically instructed me to stop you from working at exactly six o'clock and watch you eat it clean." The grey haired guy was confused, but nevertheless, he peeked at the paperbag and was surprised with the amount of food inside.
