Mina’s POV

My cheek still stings a little bit from my own slap earlier.

Can’t help it. I want to know if all of these is a dream or reality.

We are now on our way to the hospital.

I looked at our intertwined hands and smiled to myself.

I looked at the owner.

She is looking outside. Must be admiring the view.

She suddenly looked at me and smiled. “What?” she asked.

“Nothing.” I answered as I shookt my head.

She remained her gaze one me for a few more minutes so I asked the same question.

“What?” 

Her smile grew wider. “Just admiring the best view.”

I blushed. I slapped her playfully as I don’t know what to say in return. She chuckled and held my hand tighter.

At the hospital.

“Mr- Uncle!” Chaeyoung exclaimed and bow.
Dad looked at her, to our hands, and back at her. And smiled widely. 

“Thanks for bringing my girl back safely. You can talk to your Dad now.” He smiled.

Chaeyoung bowed once again.

“See you.” She said to me, smiling cheekily.

“See you” I smiled back. 

Then suddenly, she pecked me on my lips and ran.

I was stunned.

I am still not used to these kind of things.

I swear Son Chaeyoung, you will be the dead of me someday.

“Mina, Honey. You finally got her, huh.” Dad teased.

I gasped and said. “Daaaaaaaaad” I whined.

“All right! All right. You must be tired. Let’s go home for now. Let me just take my keys.” He said and ran to his office.
He was gone for a moment and went back while twirling the keys her fingers.

“Let’s go! I am so excited to see your Mom’s reaction!”

Chaeyoung’s POV

I was so happy when I entered the room.

I didn’t even notice that I'm grinning ear to ear until dad pointed it out.

“What’s with the smile kid?” He smiled.

“Where’s Mom?” I asked.

“Went out to buy something in the convenience store. So why are you grinning ear to ear? Stop it. It’s creepy.”

 I chuckled.

I sat on the stool beside him like a kid excited to tell their dad about her star she got from school

“Dad! I followed my dream!” I grinned.

“I told you. Stop that!” he grimaced.

“Appa!” I pouted. 

“I know I know! Im just kidding.” He then smiled lovingly.

He patted my head.

“I am so proud of you.” He showed his dimple that, obviously, I got. 

I don’t know but I got a little teary.

“Chaeyoung ah. Sweetie.” 

I stood up and set beside him on the bed.

He my hair lovingly.

What is this? Why do I feel like this is the last tine I will feel this.

“I have a lot to say to you. You know. As in a lot that even the encyclopedia won’t beat the words.” 

Both of us chuckled.

“I only have………………..10 more hours till the operation. And 2 more hours to eat what I want.” He giggled.

“I still have 10 hours to do what I want. But you. You do still have decades to do so.” I can see tears forming from his eyes.

“What do you mean dad? You still have a lot of time! We will still eat at that diner we love after the operation!” I exclaimed. Tears now flowing non stop. I don’t know why. It just doesn’t stop.

“Right right….. after the operation.” He chuckled.

“Why are you crying!” He scoffed and wiped my tears with his thumb.

“I don’t know why either!” 

We laughed.

“Aish. Really.” He stared at me for a solid minute.

“Chaeyoung ah. Everyone have a lot of time in their hands. So they tend to not do what their hearts wants and does what the think they need to. But you! You are a free child Chaeyoung. I know, I witnessed you grow up.” He smiled lovingly.

“Aish. You’re so cute back then. I hope you stopped growing before you hit puberty.”

“Yah! I’m still cute now!” I ranted.

“Yeah. Sure.” He smirked.

“Anyway. I hope you don’t change. Okay? All of us experience downfall, Chaeyoung. But I hope you don’t dwell too much when that time comes.”

I stared at him, confused. Tears now stopped flowing.

“You will know what I mean. But please. You have to move on okay?”

I Just nodded confusingly.

“Now go sleep. I know it’s tiring getting a girl’s heart.” He winked.

We both shared a good laugh.

“She is really pretty isn’t she.” He started.

“Yeah. Both inside and out.”

“You love her that much huh.”

“I would kill for her.”

“Woah woah! Stop the killing thingy. You wanna rot in jail?”

“Yeah. Don’t care.” I chuckled.

"...."

“Remember her when the time comes Chae. She loves you as much as you do.”

He smiled.

“Now. Go sleep!” He made a shoo shoo gesture.

I chuckled.

“I will be at the sofa at the lobby.”

I stood up and went to the door.

The moment I opened the door. Someone was already standing there, scaring the out of me.

“Mom! God. How long have you been standing there!” 

“Not too long.” She smiled.

Did she cry?

Her eyes is slightly red.

Anyway…

“I am just gonna go sleep on the sofa.” I smiled and left.

I settled myself on the said sofa and slept.
