I was about to go to school, on our driveway waiting for our car, that’s when I saw her with that smile of hers, a full grin with those perfect teeth and cute cheeks, it looks so genuine
I don't have friends
they’re all scared of me
I don't like talking to people
They’re too much for me
‘She seems to be scary’
‘There’s the ice princess again’
Right.
‘Why is she not smiling?’
‘I heard that she’s very rich’
‘My mom told me to befriend her cause her dad is my dad’s boss’
I hate everyone
-
Jennie was on her way home, she’s being driven by their family driver on a luxury car. She was just looking out the window when she saw a familiar figure.
It’s the girl from earlier, she’s riding a bike with both her hands on the air
She’s wearing that smile again
Why is she riding the bike like that? She’ll get into an accident if she continues that. What a moron

Dinner with my family is always fast and quiet, no one is talking to each other but this time my dad opened up a topic
“We have new neighbors,” my dad said as he picks out the tomatoes in his salad.
We live in a community of elite people, a huge landmass full of business people and their mansions, having new neighbors don't happen much in our place.
“Yeah, I heard he’s a top chef from Thailand” My mom stays at home while dad’s at his company, she spends her time on the telephone talking to other stay-at-home wives in our community, she’s always updated on the latest gossip in our small circle
“I wonder if he likes to play golf,” My dad said.
My dad spends all of his free time playing golf, he comes home at night and leaves early in the morning to go to his office then at weekends all he does is play golf
And that statement was the end of their discussion, cause my mom hates talking about golf

“Good morning class, today I have an important announcement,” I heard out teacher say
When I looked up.
I saw her.
My new neighbor
“You guys have a new classmate, please introduce yourself,” the teacher said as she gestured her to step forward
“Hi, my name is Lalisa Manoban, let’s have a good year together,” she said as she bowed in front of our class, she said it with her genuine smile of hers and easily I heard my classmates.
‘Wow she’s so tall’
‘She’s really cute’
‘I like her smile, she seems nice’
‘I like to be friends with her’
We’re Yin and yang.
“There are a few seats still available, where do you want to sit?” the teacher asked.
I looked around and there are at least 5 sits available
There’s one close to the window with the view of the school grounds
Another one next to jisoo our loud class president, she seems enthusiastic as she looked at Lisa.
There’s one in front of our teacher
There’s one near the exit
And there's one next to me
She looked around with a serious face then we suddenly locked eyes.
She smiled
“Hey, that’s my neighbor! With her teacher! I’d like to sit with her” she said and pointed at my direction
Everyone was shocked.
They didn't expect that. I didn't expect that.
That when I knew that you’re different from the others.
“Hi I’m Lisa, what’s your name?” she said with still that smile of her.
“I’m Jennie. thank you, Lisa” I smiled a little, I don't know why I thanked her but it feels the right word to say.
Thank you for opening up my world.
