Militias of New Sands

Description

Loosely based on the isekai genre, with the premise set on a main character who got trapped in the world of a video game. Although this is a fan fiction, it has no connections whatsoever to any existing works of anime or video games, but contains many elements found on popular war themed video games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, and the premise of animes like SAO and Log Horizon.

Foreword

This is not the first time I attempt to write a fan-fiction. Before this, my fan-fiction writing attempts were merely to practice my English (and sometimes Chinese). I recall writing one of Tokyo Ghoul, which ended up scrapped turned into a short film screenplay instead; which, in the end, was never made into a short film at all due to time, money, equipment, people, and (most importantly) inspiration shortage.

I also tried making one of Clannad, Steins;Gate and SNAFU, to mix it up to be a Youtube-based VN-style web-series, but then again, due to inspiration shortage it is again scrapped (or to be exact, postponed).

This time, I threw away all the enormous wishes and dreams of making something spectacular. Instead, I am going to write JUST for the sake of it. It has been a while since I practiced my English, so please bear with it (but corrections are welcome, and I will be sure to recheck everything).

As the title inferred, this anime fan-fiction would be based on the Virtual Reality anime genre (anime’s plural form is “anime” without “s”, since it is not actually an English word). I have just finished watching SAO and Dungeon just recently, and is still waiting for Grimgar and Log Horizon’s continuation to come out, and I realized that I am desperately in love with this type of stories. Rather than keep wasting my time (or so my parents would say) watching more, I decided to let my imagination fly for once, and create my own virtual reality world.

Here goes some paragraphs of the story. I hope you enjoy my really unprepared attempt.

*Update: This work was originally published on projectmpoemotaku.wordpress.com, but I lost access to the site, so I will move everything here and continue the story here too.
