'I'll show you. This is no game. You'll be falling to the point of no return.'

Daehyun stood in front of the restaurant, contemplating with himself. He had no idea why he accepted the omega’s request after he told himself he’d forget about him, and yet he was here, back in the foreign city, waiting for the stranger. He was honestly surprised when the younger male texted him. He didn’t think that he was interested.

Daehyun checked his watch. It was 8:15pm and Youngjae wasn’t there yet. They agreed to meet at 8, and the longer he waited, the more his conscience began to bite at him. “Maybe I should just leave.” Daehyun finally said.

He wasn’t disappointed. In fact, he wasn’t expecting for the stranger to show up.

The alpha was about to walk away from the restaurant when he halted in his steps. A familiar, intoxicatingly sweet smell overrode all his senses, forcing him to turn back around almost on command. “Were you waiting long?” Youngjae asked curiously. “Only 15 minutes.” Daehyun joked.

“You should’ve just left at 8:01. I’m a timely person, so if I’m late then it’s not on accident. I would’ve understood.” Youngjae said, arms folded. “Well, what’s the fun in that?” Daehyun grinned, “Come on. It’s on me.” Daehyun opened the restaurant door, allowing the younger inside first.

They were immediately seated at the first available table for 2. The restaurant wasn’t that busy, considering that it was a Monday evening.

Youngjae observed the handsome alpha in front of him. He was dressed in a causal maroon blazer with a black cotton V-neck shirt and black fitted jeans to match, completed with a brown Michael Khors belt and brown dress shoes. The brown-haired man wore a naturally friendly smile on his lips as he read through the menu. His entire demeanor and presence were overwhelmingly warm and comforting.

This disgusted the omega.

“Is this what you consider fun?” Youngjae finally asked after the waitress took their orders. “yes. I like trying new restaurants for fun.” Daehyun answered. “Tch.” Youngjae scoffed. “I’ve been here several times. I actually thought it was going to be something fun.”

“Well, I have to get to know you first.” Daehyun countered, “And maybe then we can have some real fun.” Daehyun grinned innocently.

For a split second, the alpha’s bright smile threw Youngjae off guard. Youngjae quickly played it off with a dry laugh, but Daehyun noticed it anyway. “Did I catch you by surprise?”

Youngjae stopped laughing, “Is this what this is really about? You really want to know me?” Youngjae asked, ignoring the alpha’s question. “Yes. I really want to get to know you.” Daehyun nodded.

“There’s not much of me to know.” Youngjae sipped his cold water.

Daehyun leaned forward, staring into the omega’s dark eyes, “It’s actually the opposite. There’s so much to know about you. Otherwise your eyes wouldn’t be so clouded.”

Youngjae narrowed his eyes at the man. “Tch…Don’t pretend to read me.” He leaned far back in his seat. “Fine. I’ll play this game of yours. You can pretend to get to know me, while we have some fun. The game ends when all your happiness becomes mine. Huh?” Youngjae tilted his head to the side.

“But I told you, it’s impossible for you to take my happiness. Joy is what you make it.”

“If you’re so confident about that, then it shouldn’t be a problem to join my game.” Youngjae said.

“Fine. I accept your challenge.” Daehyun accepted without hesitation.

Youngjae smiled crookedly, the other man’s positive confidence irritated him.

“So, Youngjae…tell me about yourself.” Daehyun said, taking a sip from his sweet tea. “I don’t want to tell you about myself. You’d end up coming up with some cheesy positive line that you think is inspiring instead.” Youngjae answered. “Am I that predictable?” Daehyun laughed, actually finding it amusing. “Dreadfully.” Youngjae said.

“Then lie to me.”

“What?”

“Instead of telling me about yourself, lie to me. Make up whatever it is you want about yourself and leave me to guess if it’s you or not.” Daehyun explained.

Youngjae struggled to process the Alpha’s request. It didn’t make sense. “You want me to lie to…” His voice trailed as he witnessed the elder pouring packets of sugar in his tea.

Youngjae didn’t understand what was the most idiotic. The question or the fact that the alpha continuously poured sugar packets into his tea. “Are you pouring sugar in your sweet tea?” He questioned in disbelief, knowing well that the sweet tea at the restaurant was very well sweet. “It’s not sweet enough for me.” Daehyun poured his fourth bag of sugar.

Youngjae couldn’t tell if he was trying to make a point or if he was just dumb, but he decided not to push it any further and returned to the topic. “I actually like that idea. I’ll tell you lies, and you’ll just have to figure out if it’s a real lie.” He was somewhat impressed, “Why didn’t I come up with that?” He pouted, earning another smile from the elder.

At that moment, the waitress returned with their meals. Daehyun immediately dug into his while Youngjae poked at his own food, studying the alpha. He didn’t understand why, but he felt a magnetic attraction toward the other male. However, he took it as a sign that this alpha would be the one that’ll allow him to achieve all his internal desires toward the pack that ruined his. This alpha would lead him to his own end.

“I’ve already told you too much about myself.” Youngjae said, despite that all he revealed about himself was relatively nothing, but everything at the same time. “Tell me about you. I know you’re dying to.”

Daehyun stopped his eating to think. “I’m from the East province.” He began, his mouth full. “I have a wonderful family. I have a beautiful mother and sister. And the scariest dad in the entire province.” He said proudly. “I have an amazing girlfriend. She’s beautiful and the kindest beta I’ve ever met.” Daehyun continued, getting lost in thought.

Youngjae raised an eyebrow, finding the information interesting. “So, you have a girlfriend? And you’re here with me, after you said that you were interested. This setting feels almost something like a blind date, don’t you think? Is this what you meant by fun?” He questioned almost sounding too excited by the idea.

Daehyun was instantly snapped out of his thoughts. He looked back at the omega. “Are you mad?”

Youngjae laughed heartedly, “You’re asking me if I’m mad? Aren’t you worried for your girlfriend?” He smiled wildly.

Daehyun was silent, a tinge of guilt poked in the back of his mind. But he quickly shook his head and straightened up, “No. Because I’m just interested in becoming friends with you. Friends with someone of the north province.”

Youngjae smirked, immediately sensing the man’s silent doubt. “That’s a shame. For a moment, I thought we shared the same kind of fun.”

Daehyun studied him, “but you wouldn’t have been interested, you even said at the hotel you weren’t. Unless you just find doing bad things fun.” He accused out of curiosity.

“I despise bad things, but I’m attracted to the unconventional. There, there is a difference.” Youngjae clarified. Daehyun leaned back in his seat thinking deep about it. It surprised Youngjae that he was actually taking it into consideration.

Youngjae decided to steal the moment to bring up the only topic he came for. “So, what about your friends?”

“My friends?”

Youngjae nodded, “I saw them at the bar with you.” He recalled. “Ah yeah, they’re my closest friends.” Daehyun shrugged. “Are they here with you again?” Youngjae asked. “Ah Yeh. But they’re not here at this restaurant. They’re out somewhere else.” Daehyun assured him.

“Are you guys staying in a hotel?” Daehyun simply nodded, “We’re staying overnight.”

“Oh. Well, since you’re staying another day, let’s meet up tomorrow evening.” Youngjae suggested.

Daehyun was taken by surprise by the offer. Did the omega also feel the same attraction to him? “You want to meet?”

“I want to show you my kind of fun. Tonight, didn’t even reach half of my expectations and I had none.” Youngjae simply said. “You sure are being pretty honest for someone who’s supposed to be lying.” Daehyun remarked.

“Send me the address to your hotel, and I’ll pick you up whenever I’m ready.” Youngjae instructed.

“Okay.” Daehyun shrugged and texted the omega the address without much thought.

Youngjae revealed something close to an amused smile. It amazed him how easy he was able to get the information he wanted from the alpha without question or even the slightest hesitation. All he needed now was to figure out where his friends will be in the evening, but he’ll have to find that out when the following night comes. He didn’t want to attract any suspicion.

Youngjae placed his fork down on the table, “Well, this was somewhat entertaining.” He said looking the alpha in the eye. “I don’t want to stay too long and ruin our time for tomorrow. I’ll be leaving first. Good Night, Daehyun.”

With that the fair omega stood up and left the table, leaving his food untouched. Daehyun watched as he walked through the restaurant to the front exit. There was something about the way the omega said his name that was transcending. It was like a temporary spell that broke only when the caster stepped out the room. As soon as the door shut, Daehyun felt his body lightly jerk as if he’d been awakened from a dream.

He looked down at the full plate across from him. Youngjae hadn’t eaten anything but drank his water. However, he wasn’t mad. Daehyun expected it. The first night they met Youngjae didn’t finish the drink he paid for, nor did he eat the food that he ordered for him at the bar the following day.

Daehyun chuckled to himself and finished his food. He had Youngjae’s food put in a to-go box, not wanting to waste the restaurant’s food. He was sure that his friends wouldn’t mind the extra food. He tipped the waitress, thanked her, and finally left the restaurant.

Instead of heading straight to the hotel, he went to the nearest corner store. He bought a small notebook and a pack of pens. “If I’m going to play this game, I better play it right.” He smiled to himself as he walked back to the hotel.

It wasn’t until another 20 minutes when Daehyun returned to his suite. “Look who’s back!” Bambam was the first to greet him. The four alphas were glued to the plasma TV playing vigorously at their video game. “Aish! You cheated!” Jackson accused. “No, I didn’t.” Yugyeom laughed.

“Oh? You brought food?” Minhyuk asked Daehyun, seeing the to-go box in his hands, along with another bag of goodies he bought from the store. The other three turned their attention to the eldest member. “Surprise.” Daehyun joked, placing the treats on the table. The four immediately stopped what they were doing and gathered around the small table.

While everyone was occupied with eating, Daehyun went in the bathroom to shower, brush his teeth, and prepare for bed. By the time he came back out, everyone was gone, except for Minhyuk who was sat on his bed munching on his snack. “Where did they go?”

“They took the food with them and went in the other room.” The younger alpha answered. Daehyun nodded and climbed onto his bed.

Minhyuk looked up at him. He watched the elder, who wore an excited smile on his face. The elder alpha climbed under the sheets and opened his bag of pens. “Did you meet him?” he finally asked, the question biting at him. “Yeah.”

Though he was hardly surprised, Minhyuk couldn’t help but wonder why the elder was interested in the omega. Why would he come all the way up north to see someone who he said he was going to forget about? “I thought you said you were going to forget about him?”

Daehyun paused for a little bit. “I don’t think I can forget him.” I confessed. Minhyuk studied him in surprise, “Y-You’re going to break up with Haeryung?”

Daehyun was caught off guard, “What? Of course not. I want to help him.” Minhyuk scrunched his brow, “Why? You don’t know him.”

“I know, but if you heard our conversation today, you’d understand. He’s hurt, and I want to help him.” Daehyun explained. Minhyuk only nodded. His childhood friend is a good person, but he had an uneasy feeling and deep down he believed that wasn’t the actual reason the elder wanted to meet the omega. He knew his friend and he didn’t use that kind of smile for everyone.

Daehyun sensed the younger’s concern. “Yah. Don’t worry about me. Nothing is going to happen.” He assured. “Yeah, but he’s from the North province, we don’t know what pack he’s from.” Minhyuk said. “That’s not a problem. He doesn’t know what pack I’m from either. We’ll be fine, so stop worrying. It doesn’t suit you.” Daehyun said.

His words hurt the younger alpha, but he forced a smile, not wanting to show any signs of weakness. “Ah, you’re right. You’re Jung Daehyun, what do I have to worry about?” He smiled.

“You got that right.” Daehyun winked.

Minhyuk forced himself from blushing and forced a yawn, “I think I’m just tired. I’m going to sleep first.” He threw the away his trash from his snack and climbed back into bed.

Daehyun waited until the younger was comfortable before getting up to turn out the lights. “Night Min.” “Night Dae.” Daehyun sat on his bed until he heard breathing from the other bed. Then he the bed-side lamp and pulled out the notebook he bought. He bent his knees resting the papered book against them and picked up one of his pens. He drew a line down the center of the page, creating two columns. He labeled the left column ‘Lies’ and the right ‘Truth’.

Lies:

He didn’t find the restaurant fun. He’s attracted to the unconventional.

~Note: The unconventional is attracted to him.

Truth:

He will meet me tomorrow.

-

The following day, late in the afternoon, Youngjae arrived at the front of the hotel. He eyed the hotel and its surroundings before texting Daehyun. “Idiot.” He scoffed to himself, “You guys are staying in my dad’s hotel.” He smirked to himself and dialed Shownu’s number.

“Hello?” The alpha answered.

“Did you get the address I sent you this morning?” “Yes. It’s one of your father’s hotels, right?” Shownu clarified. “Yes. I called the receptionist and found out what room they’re in. I checked out a room for you directly across from theirs. When you come just give the receptionist your name and she’ll give you the key.”

“Thank you Youngjae.”

“Don’t thank me. Make sure you don’t do anything inside or near the hotel. I don’t want my dad to find out.” Youngjae instructed.

“I wouldn’t even imagine getting blood in or near your dad’s business.”

“One more thing. Don’t go alone. We can’t lose anyone else.” Youngjae instructed firmly.

There was silence on the other end. At that moment he felt a strong presence approach him. His omega began tugging at him to turn around. “Shownu.” He whispered sternly. A sigh came from the other end, “Fine. I’ll take Wonho and Bang with me.” He finally gave in. “Good. Keep me updated.” Youngjae immediately hung up and turned around.

“Who were you talking to?” Daehyun asked curiously. “Just a friend.” Youngjae shrugged. “Are you sure? It sounded important.” Daehyun said, concerned for the younger.

Youngjae studied him closely. “Don’t worry about if it’s important or not. It’s my business and you don’t know me, so why do you care?” Youngjae asked him suspiciously.

“Why not? If it’s important. It’s important. Why should I not be concerned?”

This irritated the omega, “It’s not important.” He finally said.

Daehyun chuckled and smiled, “So where are we going that has you dressed up?” He asked, referring to the tight, thin, gray, long-sleeve shirt and tight black jeans the omega wore with dark brown dress shoes. “I’m not dressed up.” Youngjae said unimpressed.

“My bad. Maybe it’s just you. You look so nice, I assumed that you were dressed up.” Daehyun smiled gently.

Youngjae gave him a strange look, “That doesn’t make sense.”

The elder shrugged, “It does to me. But aren’t you hot? It’s almost summer.”

“No. I don’t get hot. I’m always cold. That’s why I can control my heat.” Youngjae said his tone deadpan.

Daehyun was taken by surprise by the new information. “You can…you can control your heat?” However, Youngjae ignored him and began walking toward their destination.

Daehyun quickly pulled out his notebook from his pocket.

Truth:

He’s always cold.

Lies:

Something important didn’t happen.

Daehyun paused for a little bit. He scrunched his brow before writing in between the columns.

He can control his heat?

He pocketed his notebook and pen before jogging to catch up to the omega.

They walked silently along the city streets. Daehyun studied the omega. The younger paid no attention to the flashy activity of the city around him. He wasn’t phased by any of it or the people that were close to bumping into him. He wore no emotion on his face, except for the determination that was present in his eyes.

Something about the omega was alluring and made Daehyun want to peel back the thick layers that the wolf guarded himself behind. His eyes traced every sharp detail of the shorter member. Including the way he walked, the length of his strides, and how still his upper body remained as he walked with his hands barely tucked in his small pockets, leaving his thumbs out.

Daehyun searched for any clue in his body movements that he could make a mental note of, that would reveal even a little bit about his personality. “Stop staring at me you creep.” Youngjae finally said.

Daehyun dragged his eyes away. He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, realizing how creepy he must’ve looked.

Shownu, Wonho, and Bang arrived at the hotel over a few minutes after Daehyun and Youngjae left. Shownu checked into the hotel and retrieved the key from the receptionist before they headed to the top floor. “Youngjae said he’s here?” Bang questioned when they entered their suite. Shownu nodded, “He’s in the suite right across from us. Youngjae said that he’s there with three other friends.”

“So, we’ll have to wait when he’s by himself, if we don’t want a blood bath.” Wonho stated, sitting down on the edge of one of the beds. Bang nodded in agreement, taking a seat on the couch.

“I’ll keep an eye out.” Shownu said, posting himself by the door, peering out the peep hole. He could easily hear the sound of loud chatting and laughing coming from the other side. He folded his arms, gripping at his bicep. How can someone just laugh carelessly after killing two people? “Should we watch TV while we wait?” Wonho suggested to Bang, switching on the television.

“A museum?” Daehyun questioned when they arrived at the black sleek long, wide building. “Museums are open this late?” He questioned as they entered the building. The inside was a pure white, with white marble walls and flooring. “This one is.” Was Youngjae’s short a

Chapter 32: youngjae is a very interesting character. he's not the typical protagonist, he's flawed but that's what makes him interesting. he's so closed off and always tries to hide his emotions and some of his actions made me frown but they're kind of justified once we learned what he'd had to go through as a child. i wish he hadn't killed jessica tho, she was pretty nice to him. but jaejoong killing leeteuk was uncalled for either. im glad they finally realized that avenging their loved ones by killing one another would benefit nobody.
daehyun's definitely the hero in this story. he managed to see through youngjae's walls and see that he needed help. he was so persistent and didn't give up on youngjae even when he himself was hurt from losing his loved ones and the thought of youngjae not caring about him. im glad it paid off in the end and they managed to find happiness after everything they had been through. i also love how youngjae didn't magically transform into a happy go lucky person. to me it shows that his wounds are too deep for them to completely heal in such a short amount of time. it took a lot of sacrifice from daehyun's part to get him to warm up to daehyun after all. but im sure he'll only get better now that he has daehyun and their kid by his side! all the conflicts have been resolved and there will be no more killings (hopefully) so they can all live in peace now
that was such a beautiful story. the daejae fandom certainly doesn't have enough good wolf aus so thank you so much for writing this!

Chapter 32: OH MY GOD YAAAAS! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU! This has been everything I wanted for this fanfic. Once again I appretiate your dedication and hard work. I love this ending better! I feel like I finally can died in peace heheh. I feel happy for Chankyun and Kihyun, and their happy ending. After everything they've been through this is a much needed finale! I think I mentioned before that I loved each interaction 2jae had during this fic. All over again, you were able to make me smile while reading about them. I am happy to see that they are closer and more comfortable with each other, even though I would have liked to read about youngjae's surprise to see JB turning into a werewolf, I am still happy with their evolution! that's enough for me :) Last, but not least, Daejae <3 I said this before but I am so glad that they were able to reach their happy ending. Their beautiful and small family is everything this story needed to ended perfectly! Once again, Thank you dear, for your great efforts, and to give us this exciting, funny, and refreshing ending! <3

Chapter 31: Hi! I'm new to this story, and now that I've read it 'till the end I'd like to say some things. WHAT A GREAT STORY! In the past, I remeber reading WOLF AU stories, but they never fully entertained me. However, I've found my self desperately reading this! it was so interesting and amazing the way you portrait the rivalry among the Silver Moon and the Midnight Shadow pack. If I am to be honest, I cried. I cried a lot while reading this. YOU GOT ME LIKE UGLY CRYING...(my sister had to bring me water and tissues because of it) Each death was harder to take as the story developed towards the end, adding suspense to every moment. If I think about it carefully, the moments that got me really hard was Minhyuk and Bang's deaths. I guess at some point I thought we were going to stop reading about friends dying, but I was so carried away by every other detail that I couldn't believe it at first. After Zelo's mom died, and Yongguk taking care of him, I felt at ease, BUT THEN YOU DECIDED IT WAS OKAY TO KILL HIM (sorry for the outburst, but it still hurts) Jessica's death was unexpected and unnecessary (in my humble opinion) I could somehow feel Tiffany's pain the whole scene and it only made my heart ache even more. Sometimes, I didn't know which clan was better. I tried to be objective and avoid picking sides, but Youngjae's decisions made it hard for me to be on his side. I felt terribly sadden by his story though. I think I might get what he was feeling from time to time, and I think you were able to describe well the duality he was facing. His mother, the weight of the clan, his responsabilities, his inner desires, everything was undeniably heartbreaking from his point of you, and if you wanted to showcase something like mentalhealth, you should know that you did an excellent work. I think the parts I enjoyed the most were those when youngjae fought with his mom's voice in his head. The lines in-between youngjae's scream made it so sureal AND real (at the same time) that from time to time it scared the hell outta me. WELL DONE! One of the other aspects I was delighted with was the inclusion of so many characters! I like fanfics that mixed many other kpop groups because it provides more variety to the story and the reader. For example, Girls' Generation and BAP are my ultimate everything!! and reading this made me so happy. I just wish, their story wasn't so sad, and they would enjoyed more than they'd suffered. BUT in general, I loved their exchanges. The story had moments where I found myself smiling, crying, and laughing. For instance, Jaebum and Choi Youngjae. I think their interactions and moments were the ones that had me laughing some times. I like a sassy and real Youngjae to say the least. I also found JB and Coco's interactions really hilarious, and made forget about all the headaches and amount of stress the story was giving me. I just wish we had more information about their ending. Please, don't get me wrong, I love this ending! I think both, Youngjae and Daehyun, deserved this much needed end, whereas there are some details I just wish we would have more details about. Kihyun and Changkyun for example. But...ANYWAY! I love it entirely! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! <3 take good care!
