Seungcheol leaned against the backrest, already tired after listening to the orientation staff leader explain about the event flow for an hour. Despite already experiencing it last year as a freshman himself, he was actually surprised that there were more to the planning than just simply bringing the new guys around campus. They actually needed to coordinate the tour with other dorms, ensure that there were no other events to be held at the hall that they would be using, prepare the party and ice-breaking gamed and also security and emergency. Everyone was now briefed on what to do in case of trouble, which was complicated and really boring. He could not help but wonder if everything was going to be alright once the new students come next week.

‘Okay guys, it's a lot but this was really important so I need you guys to at least be aware of stuffs like these. Obviously we don't expect you to remember everything so take the printed manual back to review,’ the dorm president – a position he never knew existed before volunteering for the orientation, reminded. Seungcheol received the few pieces of paper and went over it once before shifting his attention back to the 3rd year beta standing in front of them. ‘Tomorrow's meeting for the ice-breaking games' at nine, also here. See you guys.’

With that, the young alpha stood up and left the hall, just like his other dorm mates. There were a few people that he remembered from his own orientation week but never saw again, there were those whom he met for the first time. And there were also a few of his friends volunteering. Everyone had their own reason for joining, from wanting to bully the newcomers to wanting to make them feel welcomed. Seungcheol was just excited to see who would be joining their dormitory. 

Returning to his room, the young student looked over his phone to see if his lover was done with his own meeting. Jeonghan was the reason why the alpha wanted to join the orientation staff in the first place. His omega had been active in planning for the omega dorm's events and was volunteering to be a part of the fellowship program. This caused Jeonghan to be busy in the weeks leading to the new academic year hence why Seungcheol volunteered as well - so they could exchange note and so he could be a part of Jeonghan's personal activity. Because lately, he had been finding volunteer works to be fairly rewarding.

Seungcheol stretched his whole body, feeling a bit stiff from the lack of exercise lately. Looking outside to see the sun shining brightly, he looks at the time which shows a few minutes pass 11. Maybe he should run before meeting his boyfriend.

He could not help but chuckle from how lazy his lover is. The only thing that would get the man to use his energy was the thought of , and itself. Other than that, there was no way to get Jeonghan to exercise. Well, besides when Seungcheol bribed him in which Jeonghan would join excitedly, there was no way the omega would be caught sweating in his own free would. 

He needed to do something to fix that. He would think of something later.

Jeonghan woke up as soon as he heard the alarm. Today was the first day of the week before the new academic year, the new kids would arrive in the morning and have their official orientation. Then, they would be passed to the older students to be taken care off. 

This was it! His first orientation!

Jumping out of bed, all excited, Jeonghan took out his phone and called his alpha right away, asking if the man was awake. He could hear Seungcheol's hoarse voice indicating that he was just awoken so Jeonghan wasted no time in nagging the man to clean himself up. They were going to have breakfast together and this would probably be their last time meeting each other for a few days since they would have to keep an eye on the students from morning to night. Jeonghan wanted to make sure he had abundant time with his lover to make up for that.

Hearing the sound of shower which signified that the alpha was finally getting ready, Jeonghan did the same. Once done wearing the most comfortable apparel for the weather – Seungcheol's jumper, he made his way out, half skipping towards the shuttle bus stop. He did not want to eat convenient store food today, and since there were only a few places open on campus that serve breakfast which were located further from their respective dormitories, the two lovers had to take the college bus. Not that they mind, it was a fun thing to do.

‘Annyeong Jeonghan-ah,’ Jeonghan smiled as soon as he saw his alpha already sitting in the bus, the seat beside him empty. Taking his spot right beside the man, he leaned against the alpha and relaxed.

Seungcheol stood against the wall of the lounge, listening to his senior introducing himself to the new students that would be living on their floor. After explaining to the freshman about the facility and giving them what the documents they need for various registration, they were now divided into floor for easier and more intimate introduction session. Seungcheol remembered his, this was actually where he knows who his neighbours were and who his course seniors were which made it easier for him to ask for advice later. Hopefully he would meet his juniors too.

‘I'm Wen Junhui, Mechanical Engineering.’ Oh look, there was one on his floor. Now paying attention towards the tall, slightly tan beta, Seungcheol nodded in surprise, ‘I'm Chinese but I've been living here since I was three so I'm more Korean.’ The whole room laughed at the random throw of joke, including Seungcheol. He could tell that some of the newcomers were intimidated by the seniors while some were already showing their annoyance. He could not blame them; his batch also had some people who disliked this kind of things. Heck, even his lover hated it.

Which made him wonder, how was Jeonghan doing?

Jeonghan bid his goodbye to Nayoung as he made his way up the stairs to return to his room after his early dinner break with the female beta. There were still some activities that would be held tonight with the freshmen – the beginning of their hellish week hence why the facilitators have their meals earlier than usual. Just as he was about to enter his room, he noticed that the door of the room to his right was not closed completely. If he recalled correctly, he had no neighbour here. Which meant either the management was inside for some reason, or one of the new kids was here.

Should he knock, and see? Because the door was a bit heavy so maybe the person inside didn’t notice that it was still ajar.

He should. If it was the management, he had nothing to be ashamed of. If it was one of the freshmen, he would be doing the kid a favour.

‘Hey,’ Jeonghan almost jumped when the person inside screamed in shock. Feeling guilty for scaring the cute, fox-like student, he apologized as soon as he got the chance and introduced himself, not wanting to leave the kid wondering. ‘I’m your next-door neighbour, Jeonghan. 2nd year Literary student.’

‘O-oh. I’m uh, Kwon Soonyoung.’ The younger omega was about to continue before a look of horror was seen on his face. That worried Jeonghan who was about to ask what was wrong before the man bowed 90 degreed, ‘I’m a 1st year student! Nice to meet you!’

‘Oh! Ha… ha.’ Damn, that scared the hell out of him! He forgot about the senior-junior thing. Well, not that he cared about it because he never showed that kind of respect towards his own seniors in the first place. Because he never cared to interact with them before joining the club and the dorm association. And when he did, he realized the members did not even care about it and preferred to talk to each other like friends instead of emphasizing on seniorities. Jeonghan found that better for him, hence why he would do that with his juniors – not demanding respect.

That being said, he still didn’t know how to interact with other people normally. His start with Seungcheol and Joshua were weird; he bet screaming and following someone like a stalker would not make that person comfortable. And Nayoung was the one who brought him out of his shell with his classmates. So, he really had no clue how he should treat a junior. Because this kid seems to be painfully aware that he was a newcomer.

‘You… uh, what department.’ That’s it, typical boring question. At least this was the safest thing to do to not make things awkward.

‘Performance Art! Ah, sorry I’m screaming.’ Jeonghan nodded, not sure if laughing would make things better. The kid seemed twitchy. He should leave.

‘Cool. So, welcome. Yeah. Nice to meet you.’ The senior tried to think what else he should say to get away without sounding rude.

‘Let me know if you need anything.’ Okay, he regretted saying that. What if this kid was the weird kind? Because there was a lot of weird people in the world. What if he’s annoying? Now he knew where Jeonghan lived.

No, he needed to stop. He should not overthink this.

‘A…nyways. Sorry to scare you. Your door was not closed complete. It’s a bit tight here so you need to use a bit of force. Cus, you know, it’s sound-proof and all.’

‘Okay…’

‘Kay bye!’ Jeonghan pulled the door as hard as he could and as soon as he felt the thud that indicated it was closed completely, he ran back to his room.

Did he do good? Ah damn, would he be a good facilitator?

That Soonyoung kid was acting weird again.

Jeonghan sighed inwardly, not wanting to pay attention to the younger omega but he could not get the kid out of his head. Of course, initially he kept on noticing the male because he was the only freshmen he knew but even as the new day proceeds and he met with other omegas, the sight of the young omega always bothers him a bit. His awkwardness in interacting with other people just alerted Jeonghan in a way that none others do. It reminded him of the people at the shelter.

He felt as if he should keep an eye on this kid.
