I knew I wasn't coming back from the cold abyss as soon as my back collided with the watery grave I'd never be found from again.

what I was craving by ending it all, I didn't know.

Was it relief from the pain?

Was it closure?

Or was it a means to somehow see him again?

But as soon as my lungs screamed with fire, and my nostrils filled with salty water, I started thrashing about; grasping at something - anything - to hold on.

Didn't I want to die? Where is the resistance coming from?

And in that moment I realized that we actually hold onto life, we only really see that when faced with death. Life is inherent.

Gurgling out a last resort, the lights from the surface started fading out into the watery, velvety darkness... 

Ironic how death was supposed to bring peace but nobody lives to tell you how horrifyingly painful it is. Is the pain of death worth the relief from pain of life?

And yet, when my entire life ran through my eyes, I went numb. Saw his face, smiling down on me and the agony was replaced by a smile. It felt like I was the only source of light in this vast sea of darkness...

Ny father, teaching me to ride a bicycle... hugging me when I fell off...

Him fighting with me asking me to break it off with Taehyun...

Me crying... Taehyun smiling on me..

I couldn't hear his words but I knew everything he said.

And I was somehow okay with dying if this was the last thing I saw.

But then... a blinding light shone from my side and i saw in that light... Jungkook.

Him being injured and me tending to his wound at the orphanage...

And the kids running to me... 

No.. how could I leave the kids behind? They only had me...

But it was too late, my limbs were already giving out. I smiled sarcastically

I guess nobody really does die without regrets.

As I gave up and just before the darkness engulfed me, I saw something move towards me.

Angel of death?

No... Jungkook?










 

Gasping out, I came to with a pain ripping out from my throat.

I coughed out the pain but only water came.

Opening my eyes, the first thing I saw.
