You looked at the clock hanging on the bathroom door.  8 p.m., and you were home alone.  Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem, but you had been having a strange, foreboding premonition all day.  Normally, unlike other seers, your precognition was always fully formed, and crystal clear, but all day it had seemed as if something were blocking it.  Extending your mind, you checked on your brothers, to make sure that the feeling wasn’t coming from any of them.

Sehunie was just climbing onto his motorcycle, tightening his black leather gloves.  Baekhyunie was talking a walk alone–you pushed your sight forward and saw that he was on his way to a convenience store to buy snacks.  And Jongin…you sighed.  Jongin was under the city again, pushing his body in the art that he loved…what he was meant to do.  

He thought that you didn’t know, that you were unaware of the hours that he spent in the old underground system of abandoned tunnels, practicing, and perfecting all of the dances he created.  You hated this. You hated that he had to hide…because of you.

Harabeoji had taken in the boys, one by one, when you were a child.  You smiled at the memories as you brought your knees to your chest, the steam from the bathwater curling lazily around your head.  Sehunie had stolen his wallet.  Harabeoji had let the street urchin lead a merry chase before popping up in the abandoned warehouse that Sehun had called home, piquing the young ragamuffin’s curiousity with his curious endurance, despite his advanced age.

Baekhyunie had had a bit more finesse.  He would never resort to anything so common as pickpocketing, instead tricking the naive, with sleight-of-hand con games.  Harabeoji had seen right through the boy’s diversions, his seeming cleverness convincing Baekhyun to follow, not knowing that Harabeoji had the sight.  Not as strong as yours, but it had been there, nonetheless.

Nini came later.  You had actually been there when Harabeoji found him, and the memory still broke your heart…
