I'm like a restless puppy that would chafe

Knowing that something magical just happened.

Instead, I am here alone with my paper and pen.

I don't know why but I waited for a text.

Having jitters in my stomach, I want to know what's next.

I'm both nervous and excited to see you tomorrow.

Tonight, I'm praying that we'll be okay and you won't go.

What if tomorrow you'll say what you want and go?

Asking if will I be able to hear the words I want to hear.

Dreaded to hear what I'm avoiding to know.

I'm now giddy and nervous. Oh! Then I'll just play it by ear!
