Full Circle
Description
Heejin had to wait two long years for her group to finally be completed and she can’t help but feel bitter towards Hyejoo because she didn’t have to wait as long as she did. What does the last girl of their group know about the hardships of being a trainee? She didn't have to wait at all.
For Heejin to be chosen first, people thought it must be for a reason, that she must be some kind of superhuman over the others, but she wasn’t. She was just a normal girl. A girl people really liked to pressure and put countless weight on her shoulders. So Heejin had to play the part to keep up with people's expectations and prove that she was worthy.
Hyejoo certainly didn't know that feeling of stress, anxiety, uncertainty, insecurity, exhaustion, and also fear sometimes. Hyejoo didn't know what it was like when those emotions hit her all at once either and Heejin hated her for it.
Foreword
Hyejoo had become accustomed to waking up at around four just to keep an eye on Heejin from the corner of the hallway. She got comfortable against the wall and brought her knees up to her chest as she witnessed all of Heejin’s down-breaks. Every night she prayed that whatever was eating her up and causing her to lose sleep would disappear, but every week Hyejoo was disappointed to find Heejin crying her eyes out once more.
Hyejoo couldn’t take it anymore, and on this particular night where Heejin‘s cries held more anguish and pain than previous, she decided she had held back long enough. She wouldn’t be a coward anymore and tackle the monsters head on, in this case whatever was tormenting Heejin and eating her alive. The younger girl couldn’t witness Heejin destroying herself any longer.
She couldn’t take Heejin's pain away and she couldn’t make her feel better from one day to another, but she could be there for her even without saying anything. She could hold her tight and provide her with warmth.
Author's Note
I'm back and with a new story smh... Knock Knock! Who's there? The other stories you have out you haven't worked on in months! But then again... this was just too tempting to write. Inspired by a thread I saw on Twitter (that I can't seem to find anymore... the owner probably deleted it, sad).
I really enjoyed writing this even though it's different from my other typical happy stuff. However, there still is a happy ending so don't think this is all angst. HeeHye always make me want to incorporate sad themes for some reason though... what's up with that, right? Lol
