Stray Kids - Phobia

It was a busy day for Tzuyu. 

"This is the life," the girl commented as she sniffed the air around her.

The smell of gas, tires, smoke, sweat, and metal, all together, whiffed through Tzuyu's nose that shot her blood with adrenaline.

Racing day. 

The girl has been waiting for this day. She has been trying hard and had been practicing with her best friend, Chaeyoung.

Yeah, it might have given her lots of chances for dying, but she made through them all. Now, she knew what she would if anything happens in her race.

She has been a racing fan for God knows how long, and she wanted to make a name for herself.

It took years. It has been with her balancing her education and training. But nothing swaved her from reaching her dream.

Chou Tzuyu, through the years, has made a name for herself in the auto racing industry. She has won different races even the minor ones. And if you're also a fan of the sport, you would see her name circulating around the televisions, radios, and also the internet.

You might think that Tzuyu has got it all, but no. She doesn't.

For her, there is still one thing she wanted to achieve.

And that is to get the attention of one race car driver.

Misaki.

The race car driver who has not yet shown her face throughout the years she has been in the industry. No one knows her name and private life except for her manager, who is also her bestfriend. Even though her whole appearance was hidden, the people who witnessed all of her races, loved her. Especially Tzuyu.

The girl has been a fan of Misaki ever since she saw the race win her first race. And God knows how much she wanted to see the woman's face. There was something alluring about her.

That is why Tzuyu wanted to win the race for Misaki to look at her once. That is already enough for her. 

While her crew was preparing for the race, Tzuyu opened the garage door and went outside. She looked over the other doors beside hers and saw that Misaki's garage was to the left of hers. The door was still closed, signalling that the crew was not yet there.

A hand was laid over her shoulder. She turned to look and saw Chaeyoung, standing with her other hand on her waist.

"What are you looking over here?" Chaeyoung looked at what Tzuyu was staring at and realized something. "Misaki's garage is right beside ours?!"

Tzuyu clamped her hand over the shorter girl's mouth. "Shut up. Don't want to gather any attention."

Chaeyoung scoffed before pulling Tzuyu's hand away from . "Yeah, right. You just want Misaki to look at you, right."

Tzuyu blushed but didn't say anything. She shook her head.

"Let's just get ready," Tzuyu said before walking inside their garage.

Chaeyoung chuckled at her bestfriend before following.

At the other side,

"Are you okay, Misaki?" Someone asked.

Misaki snapped out of her trance then nodded. "Y-Yeah, Momo. Just thought of something."

Momo shook her head. "Well, get that something out of your head and get dressed. You don't want other people to see you, right?"

Misaki sighed before going into the changing room.

Momo shook her head again. "That girl, really."

An hour later, the other crew had their garage doors open and the cars were pushed outside, except for one.

Misaki's.

The drivers, one by one, marched out of their garages. The crowd started to go wild as the saw their favorite racers.

This was the biggest racing competition yet, with the professional racers from different countries gathered together to win the trophy.

Tzuyu stood beside her car, gazing at the bleachers that were full of people. She took a deep breath before raising her helmet.

She wore it before bowing to the crowd when the camera was pointed at her, making the cheers louder, booming the arena with voices.

Tzuyu took a deep breath before getting inside her car. She put on her seatbelt and heard a garage door opening. 

She turned to her left and saw a car roll out of the garage with the racer in the driver seat.

Tzuyu stared at the driver for a long time before Misaki turned to her, making her blush inside her helmet before turning away. She was startled when someone banged on her window. Tzuyu looked to see Chaeyoung gesturing her to pull down the glass. 

The girl glared at her manager before doing what she said. "What?"

Chaeyoung grinned, "Nothing. You were distracted."

Tzuyu glared harder. "But I also wanted to say that, be careful on the tracks, okay?" 

Tzuyu sighed before nodding. "Yeah, sure, Chaeyoung. I'll be careful." 

Her manager pulled up her fist, "Fighting!" Tzuyu chuckled before pulling up the glass again.

Tzuyu nodded to herself before driving to the starting point.  

One by one, the cars were lining up onto their starting points. Race car drivers looking at their sides to see who were there. Tzuyu was just staring at the car in front of her, which was Misaki's. 

"I'm going to win this for you, Misaki. Just watch me."

A girl with two starting flags stood in the middle of the starting line. She raised the flags in the air. The cars roared in their places. Tension surrounded the whole arena.

Tzuyu fixed her posture and gripped on the wheel tightly. Her gaze was on the girl with the flags. The timer was counting down.

The flags were now pulled down to the ground. And that was when the race started.

Cars passed the girl, the wind picked her hair up in the air. 

The drivers passed each other with speed that overpower their opponents.

Tzuyu was behind Misaki with the others right behind them. Tzuyu stepped on the gas harder, trying to surpass Misaki. 

Minutes later, Tzuyu was neck and neck with the racer. And after finishing a lap, Tzuyu was already leading. 

The girl looked back to see Misaki a little bit behind her. She cheered in her car before stepping more on the gas.
