One 

The first time Sana catches Jihyo staring at her was when she was dissecting a frog in their Biology class. 

Thanks to her clumsiness, she managed to get the frog’s blood on her white lab coat and a little bit of it on her glasses. The first thing she did was look around and pray that no one saw.

Oh. 

Someone saw. 

Never mind then. She’s someone Sana doesn’t know, so it’s easy to pretend to be cool. But she was pissed off for being caught. Why can’t she mind her own business? Why couldn’t she just concentrate on the frog instead of looking around? 

With one last glance, Sana averted her gaze at the girl who caught her at her most vulnerable state. She gracefully wiped the blood stain on her glasses and continued to work on the damn frog. 

It’s a good thing the unknown girl has pretty eyes though, so it’s okay. 

Two 

The second time, Sana was in her choir practice. She was concentrating hard on their conductor when she caught someone at the back of the room watching them, her? She’s not sure, but she feels the weight of the stare on her. 

Sana could never forget that face (or eyes).

Biology girl! Why are you here? 

The girl has the same look when Sana first caught her looking. No smile, just looking, as if Sana was the most interesting being on the planet. She doesn’t understand why this girl keeps studying her with her eyes though. 

The only explanation Sana can come up with was because Tzuyu was behind her. 

Yes, that’s it! Everybody likes Tzuyu! 

And besides, she doesn’t know this girl with pretty eyes. But maybe Tzuyu does. 

Three 

The third time Sana caught Biology girl staring was in the library, but this time Tzuyu wasn’t behind her. No one was behind her. Only books. 

Sana slightly moves down her book and scrutinized the girl. Is she looking at me or behind me?. Sana can’t help but crease her eyebrows slightly at the girl as she questions herself of what made her so interesting to her. 

Is she reminiscing about the blood incident and laughing inside her head and having the time of her life? Yeah, it must be that. I’m so glad to be of service, Biology girl. 

She let it go one more time and covered her face with the book she's holding so she won’t see the distraction. 

Biology girl is very distracting. 

Unknown to Sana, Jihyo gave her first smile her way. 

Four 

The fourth time was when Sana’s clumsy side appeared in front of Jihyo again. 

She miraculously tripped over nothing and managed to spill her books on the floor along with her glasses. With her blurry vision, she gathered the books around her first and looked for the hardest object to see, her glasses. Why couldn’t I pick a brighter frame?. 

“Here.” 

Someone grabbed Sana’s hand and put her glasses on her palm. Still dazed from the aftermath (because Sana felt like her world shook when she tripped), Sana could only look at the blurry person in front of her. 

“Oh. Thank you.” 

“No problem. Be careful next time.” 

With her limited vision, she could only see the white of her teeth when she smiled. The girl stood there and just looked at Sana a little bit longer until Sana felt the familiar weight of the stare and squinted her eyes to have a better view. 

But the girl was gone before Sana could properly focus her eyes. And when Sana finally came back to her senses and remembered she was holding her glasses, she put it on quickly and looked at the direction the girl went off. 

But Jihyo was already steps away, and all Sana could do was wonder. 

Is that Biology girl? 

The bell rang, and it felt like thousands of students came out at once to block her view of the girl.

Sana could only sigh in frustration. 

Ugh. Never mind. 

Five 

On the fifth time, Sana unintentionally showed her dorky side. 

She was on her way to the restroom. It was during class hours so the hallway was basically a dead zone. So Sana can’t help but sing the song stuck on her head that her seatmate (damn you, Nayeon) was singing before she left for the restroom. 

As she grew closer to her destination, her singing got louder until she got to the rap part of the song, topping it off with her very own choreography. 

“JESUS CHRIST!!” 

And there she was again, Biology girl, giving Sana one the most embarrassing, most shocking moment of her life, washing her hands in front of the sink (and not surprisingly staring back at her). 

“I thought Twice was here.” Said Biology girl with her charming smirk, while Sana just stood frozen with the rap part’s choreography. 

Sana only moved when she realized Biology girl was staring at her for some time when she already had finished washing her hands. She squinted her eyes at the girl again trying to understand why she seems to be her favourite thing to look at, and that was the only time Jihyo moved just because she was afraid Sana might see through her the longer she looks. 

Before Jihyo could leave though, she can’t help but tease Sana a little bit by singing “Oh, wait wait I finally got an answer woo”. 

All Sana could do was turn red and curse Nayeon over and over again (for singing, and then making her sing too) until she finished her business. 
 

When Sana came back, she gave the biggest shock in Nayeon’s life by hitting her at the back of her head. Hard. 

“WHAT THE ACTUAL SANA?!” 

And Sana shouted back, “I HATE TWICE!!” 
 

Six 

How very distracting. 

Sana thought as she felt the weight of Biology girl’s stare again. They were in a lecture, and Sana caught the girl staring at her when she glanced at her direction. 

Normally, people caught staring will avert their gaze once their subject caught them, but not this one. And it’s giving Sana the stress of her life when she wondered why. 

“This has got to stop,” Sana muttered to herself, finally deciding to approach Biology girl once and for all (if Biology girl doesn’t have the guts to approach her first she will have to do it). 

When the class ended though, Biology girl was nowhere to be found. 

Oh, well. Next time, Sana would be ready for sure. 

Seven 

And Sana was ready. 

Because when Biology girl stared at her, Sana was already staring back. It felt like an accomplishment, so she can’t help but give a smirk while she walked closer to Biology girl. 

“Hi, I’m Minatozaki Sana.” She said to the already smiling girl while she took a seat across from her without asking first. 

“Park Jihyo.” 

“Oh, so now you’re giving me your name?” 

“Uhm, I don’t see what you mean.” 

Sana sighed, “Never mind. At least I already have your name. It’s a bit tiring calling you Biology girl.” 

“Biology girl?” Jihyo laughed like it was the most ridiculous thing she ever heard. “Anyway, Sana, what can I do for you?” 

“Well,” Sana squinted her eyes, a habit she developed during their staring game. “If I’m not mistaken, you’ve been staring at me for a while” 

“You’re not mistaken.” 

“I KNEW IT!” Sana pointed a finger at Jihyo accusingly, and Jihyo only laughs again. “I MEAN WHY? Do you have any idea...” 

“Calm down.” 

“ ….how much your stare distracts me? Not to mention….” 

“Distract you?” 

“....it’s totally embarrassing me! You just have no idea…..” 

“Slow down, Sana please.” 

“....do you? A total of freaking six times….” 

“Six?” 

“SEVEN! If you count now!” 

“Seven, huh.” 

“Yes. So tell me why.” 

Jihyo smirked, that same smirk during the fifth time Sana caught her staring (not that she’s counting, no). She let Sana rant while enumerating the times her stare was giving her a hard time. This girl just keeps pulling Jihyo’s attention over and over, and she doesn’t mind one bit, because Sana could have all of Jihyo’s attention. She can have all of her, to be more specific. She only hoped Sana wouldn’t mind having all of her. 

“Out of all the times, I’ve been staring,” Jihyo smiled at her fisted hands to give her courage. She finally looked up to Sana and stared, like how she stared at her during all those (thousand) times, like giving her soul for Sana to take. “You only caught seven?” 

And Sana was left speechless.

It was the beginning of something special.
