CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

I should have been used to it by now that Taemin tend to come all the time that I needed saving but here I am gaping at the Night Lord's extra dramatic entrance or crashing my own wedding would be much more like it—though I don't really like this and I am glad that he's here to destroy my wedding to the point that I could give him a kiss on the cheeks. Oh well, I can't do that!

His midnight swirls finally vanished and it revealed that he was dressed not with the same plain black tunic that he used to wear. Instead, he was wearing a black mandarin-collared suit adorned with silver linings, I guess the Grand Duke of the Night Kingdom did not only like dramatic entrances but extravagant clothes as well. Taemin angled his head in my way which made the sentries on alert and came rushing by my side, but with a wave of a finger all sentries were knocked off from their feet. He is indeed a prick.

"What the hell are you doing in here, Taemin?" I heard the Winter Lord bellowed angrily from the aisle.

"I was about to say hello to my sweetheart here but I didn't know you guys were conducting a little wedding. Should I say my congratulations?" the Night Lord purred in response. 

"Leave Naeun alone!" Taemin paid him no attention because he was busy looking at me and I saw how his gorgeous brow raised as he beheld my dress. 

"You look rather voluminous today, sweetheart." He said with a smirk.

My face burned as he told me those words, even the Night Lord seems to find my wedding dress as ridiculous as I find it to be, well at least we have the same choice.

I am about to response but Myungsoo came rushing at my side, maybe to try to get me away from the terrifying grand duke of the night. But before he can pull me away, solid air appeared around me which offered a temporary barrier to keep the winter lord at bay. 

"Oh no. Not so fast!" Taemin said playfully, "I'm afraid but I need Naeun to call in the bargain with her so hands off Winter Lord!" 

I could have imagined but I thought I saw Myungsoo's eyes was glazed with icy rage but quickly fade away as he asked, "What bargain?" 

"My, oh my! You didn't know," the Night Lord said out of amusement. "You didn't tell him yet, sweetheart?" 

"Don't you dare call her like that again. She's mine!" the Winter Lord's voice boomed so loudly inside the whole reception which made the the chairs to slightly shook. I wish I could melted into the floor as I saw how Myungsoo was staring at me and said, "What is he talking about? What about the bargain?!" 

"I-It was during the time in the devil's lair. Do you remember when Thamuz asked his sentries to beat me up? I almost died there—there's too much broken bones and deep wounds, I was not healing." I took a long breath and relieve my shakiness by inclining my head slightly towards the amused Taemin to try asking for him to tell the rest, but he made a gesture as if telling me to continue it myself, so I did. "No one came to fix me up well except for him. Taemin came in my cell and he offered to mend me in exchange for a week of every month. The first week of the month to be exact."

"And you took it," Myungsoo said through gritted teeth. 

"Yes and I did it for you. To save you!"

"And apparently, it's the first day of the month so I need to get Naeun. Unless you want terrible things to happen to her." It was Taemin who said those words. I didn't know that not calling in the bargain will caused something to me, he did not told me that!

​​​​​​"No–" I heard Myungsoo talked again but his words were cut off as the Night Lord came butting in. 

"I warned you before. Bringing her back might caused you something and it did, it caused you to temporarily lose her a week of every month."

"You cunning bastard of a grand duke!" Myungsoo was about to lunge at him but Taemin suddenly disappeared and reappearing right exactly at my side. 

"Tell your farewell because I'm about to take her now."

"Don't you dare, Taemin. Don't touch her!" the Winter Lord warned but Taemin only laugh at him. 

"Oh, I certainly will." Taemin said those words as his arm s around my waist, he frowned a little bit but quickly wash it away as he gave my groom a smirk, "I'll just send her home when the week is done. Farewell, Winter Lord!"
