Run.

Need to run.

We've got to run. Else, it will be our last breath.

My legs felt so weak and tired. Still, I need to hold on. I have to escape as possible as I can. Yoong, one of my best friends, looked so tired as well. But, we need to keep on running.

It was almost night time. We stumbled upon an abandoned building on the school grounds. It is infamously known as the spooky building. We got no choice but get in and hide from the horror that may bestow upon us if we didn't get to escape from the eyes of death.

Death.

We are going to face our deaths. The deity of the underworld is hunting us both.

We got into a worn-out locker room on the first floor of the deserted building. It seemed to be women's. We quickly barred the door with the available benches inside. We both tried to catch up with our breaths. We sat on a bench at the center while staring at the barred door.

"Do you think we're safe here?" I asked him. Still, my whole body is trembling in fear. I feel like I am having a panic attack too.

"Yes, hyung. I think so. There's no possible way to get in here except that door." Yoong said to me. Fear was still obvious in his eyes. I've never seen him so scared like this.

I sighed deeply, "How long are we gonna run? We've been running and running for two days. This is all your fault, man. You shouldn't have---"

"Yah, hyung!" he cut me out. "We are the best of friends. We're supposed to be in this together."

"But, you're the one who--"

"Are you really going to leave me alone, hyung? Are you really just going to let me die alone?!"

"I don't know, man. This is... This is too much. With the both of us, I think you're the one who's going to survive." Wait. That got me realized. I glared at him and shouted in rage, "Yah! Did you just pull me into this just to become your scapegoat?!"

He then suddenly whispered and tried to calm me down, "Hyung, relax. Tone it down. If you're going to shout and shout, we're going to face death soon."

I groaned in defeat, "How long are we going to stay here then?"

It was then a sudden chilly feeling. The temperature in the place suddenly felt icy. It was like we're inside a freezer.

"It won't be that long." the goddess of death said from behind us. H-how?! H-how did she get in here?!

I suddenly felt like my left ear was being torn as it was being pulled away. It was so damn hurtful. Yoong was suffering the same too on his right ear. We screamed in pain.

We both looked at her. The eyes of Shinigami bestowed upon us. Jessica Sooyeon Jung, our beloved, was shooting us with her deadliest glare.

"What did you two do?!" she said along with another hellish voice over. It could just be a problem with my hearing because of her tearing my ear but I am dead serious. It sounded like she's being possessed by the darkness.

"Nothing!" we both said.

"Why are you both running away from me then?!"

Yoong said, "You look like you are about to kill us! So that's why!" 

"I will if both of you will not tell me what have you done!"

"Alright! Alright!" I said. "Just stop tearing our ears!"

And she suddenly did. We both sighed in relief. We got startled again as she's now in front of us.

"How do you do that?!" we both said. I uttered, "You emo girl. Are you practicing sorcery now, huh?!"

She pulled the bench right in front of us. She made it so near ours. Then, she sat calmly on it, facing us. "Now, tell me what did you do."

With Jessica being calm right now makes me even more scared. When we were dating back then, I had experienced this kind of calm Sica. I thought it was heaven but it turned out to be hell.

Suddenly, I felt the urge. My anxiety hit me again. "Can I pee first?" I said.

Jessica glared at me, "No peeing!"

"But, it might explode and I'm gonna pee on my pants again. So please Jessica emo girl, please."

"I said no!"

I can't take this anymore. I rushed to the sink behind us. Good thing there's a sink in here. I quickly did what I needed to do. I sighed in relief as I closed my eyes. 

"Yah, Taeyeon!" Jessica shouted. "You are so eiw!!"

"Hyung, you stink! Yuck!" Yoong shouted too.

"You both don't know what I am dealing with my life! I gotta do what I gotta do!" I was finally done. Good thing the faucet was still working. I washed up the sink and my hands, of course. "There, there. All clean."

I turned and smiled at them. Jessica looked at me boringly, "Your fly is open."

"Oops. Sorry." I zipped up my pants and chuckled awkwardly.

"Can I pee too?" Yoong said. Jessica shot him a glare. Then, he just chuckled nervously, "Nah. Never mind. I think I can hold it in."

I went back to my seat. Jessica seemed to be really waiting for our explanation. I sighed first. Then, I quickly said, "It was Yoong!"

"Yah! Hyung!" he protestingly shouted at me. "Why are you throwing me under the bus?!"

"It was really your damn fault, okay! You're the one who freaking picked Stephanie up from the airport!"

Jessica was in so much rage again as soon as she heard, "What?!"

Yoong then quickly said, "Look, Jessica. It's not exactly like that. It's a long story. But the bottom line is, even if Taeyeon-hyung and I didn't interfere, they will still get to meet."

"I don't care if it's a long story." she said. "We got all night to talk about this."

I snapped, "Emo girl, can I go? Yoong can explain everything. I only did like ten percent of the plan, anyway."

"So... there really was a plan, huh?" she said and smirked at me.

Damn. I am such a blabbermouth. I spilled it out. Now, Yoong's glaring at me too.

He then sighed in defeat, "Alright. I will start. Once upon a time---"

"Yah!" Jessica shouted at him.

"Alright! Alright!" He cleared his throat. "It was a chilly and lonely Monday mo---"

"I swear one more silly introduction from you and I will kill you!"

"Fine. 'It was the next day after my birthday'. There. That's my introduction. Happy?"

"Okay. Please continue."

Yoong then dramatically started on his story as if it was something tragic. "It was the next day after my birthday. I slept at Yuri-hyung's place along with Sooyoung and Taeyeon-hyung. After a decent breakfast catered by Yuri-hyung, we all parted ways. I took my car that tim---"

I pulled out a bag of chips and opened it. They both looked at me boringly. I said in defense, "What? You're only on the part where you're about to ride your car. This is gotta take long." I offered to Jessica. "Want some?"

She took the whole bag of chips from me and started to eat. Well, I got another one and opened it.

Yoong took one chip from my bag of chips. He munched as he continued, "As I drove home, my dad called me. He told me that Stephanie-noona was at the airport." Before Jessica could complain, he placed his index finger right on her lips. "Nope! You cannot say I violated my promise! I just spied on Stephanie-noona at that time."

She swatted his hand away, "Still, you told your dad about Stephanie!"

"And that wasn't part of the agreement! Our agreement was not to tell anyone Stephanie-noona was Yuri-hyung's dream girl! Besides, I already asked for my dad's help even before Taeyeon-hyung and I found out the dream girl was Stephanie-noona, anyway."

"Are you really using technicality against me, huh?!"

"Technicality or not, it's a valid point!"

She groaned in defeat, "Fine! So what's next?!"

"I was at the airport. I was just spying there when Stephanie-noona noticed my car. Coincidentally, the plate number of her car service was identical to my plate number. It was just a last number difference. So, she got in. I got no choice but to accept."

"Don't lie to me, Yoong. I know when you are lying."

"Fine. I pretended I was her car service. But! That was not also part of our agreement, anyway."

"And then what?"

"Well… we chatted." He looked away then whistled innocently.

"What did you two talk about?"

"She uhhmmm wanted to enroll in Ah In University."

"And you freaking convinced her to enroll in Se Kyung instead?!"

"That's the thing! She did ask for my advice! I just gave her advice but from an objective point of view! She wanted a school with a stress-free environment so she can have jobs on the side. I suggested Se Kyung since look at Yuri-hyung. He got ten-plus jobs. You, you got a job too."

"I got a job even in Ah In back then too, Yoong! That's not an excuse!"

"Well, she told me she's not really fond of studying, anyway. Maybe she's unlike you." Then, he flirtatiously said, "I think you are really, really smarter than her, you know."

Jessica smiled. It was like as if she's enjoying the compliment of being better than her best friend. "Okay, continue."

"So, that was it. She firstly rented at Mrs. Wanda's apartment so you see, even if I didn't interfere, they will still meet. Im Gong is so near Yuri-hyung's place."

"Oh yeah? How did the two end up having one same subject then?"

"Oh." He sighed deeply. Quickly, he pointed at me, "It was Taeyeon-hyung!"

I glared at him, "What?! Why me?!"

"Nothing! I just want to point at you, that's it!"

"So, you just freaking want to drag me to your grave too, huh?!"

He looked at me with his pleading stupid eyes. "Yes, please."

I groaned loudly. I looked back at Jessica, "Look, emo girl. Trust us. We don't know why did that happen. I didn't even get it why on Earth would they both want that same subject, anyway!"

"How did you two know they'll end up the same subject then?!"

"I got access to the university registrar. We looked into their enrolment record if there is a chance. And they really got a chance. We don't want to miss that moment, you know. That's why we're there. We were recording the moment."

Yoong then added, "We want to document this, you know. We want to record Yuri-hyung's reaction once he finally sees his dream girl in person. But trust us. We really don't know why on Earth they're in one same subject."

"So, you're telling me it was destined for them to meet there?"

"Yes. If that's not destiny, I don't know what is."

"But you see, it won't happen if you didn't freaking persuade my best friend to go to Se Kyung instead of Ah In."

"As I said, I was just giving her smart advice."

"Doesn't matter. You two still broke your promise on me."

"But--" I tried to but in and exempt myself. I got a glare from her in return so I just nodded back. We both went to silence as we avoided her gaze.

"I told you both to not do anything to make them cross paths. You two deliberately did the otherwise."

Yoong then uttered, "I'm sorry. We are sorry."

"I'm sorry." I uttered too.

He continued, "I know we violated our promise on you but... we promised Yuri-hyung too that we're going to help him search for his dream girl. It has been months since we all knew about Stephanie-noona but as the longer it went, the more we were getting guiltier and guiltier. Yuri-hyung has been becoming lonelier and lonelier day by day. He was starting to lose hope too during the past months."

I added, "Actually, during Yoong's birthday months ago, he declared he'll forge
