“I’m sorry. Did you wait long?” Lee Soo Man opens the door to his private room and immediately apologizes to Doctor Hwang. “The meeting suddenly had a long discussion so we had to extend the time.” He walks over to his seat and moves the pile of papers over to clear his desk.   The Doctor smiles. “No problem. I can see you’re still a busy man as always, Soo Man ssi.”   Lee Soo Man clasps his hands together, “Doctor Hwang, are you here to continue our conversation about my friend, Mr. Kwon?”   The Doctor nods. “Yes. About the will, you haven’t written anything on it, right?”   “Yes. I’ve done what you said. I have the copy here, still, just somewhere.” He jokes.   The two men laugh.   When the laughing ceases, Lee Soo Man asks a serious question in regards to the will. “About that…” he stutters to ask the question. He’s afraid that asking the question would mean accepting the fact.   The Doctor rummages through his bag.   President looks at the Doctor curiously. It is an envelope, a very thick one.   “Mr. Kwon…he…” The Doctor leans inwards to the desk and gently places the thick envelope on top of the desk, near Lee Soo Man’s hands. “Enclosed are letters he wrote to you…and to his daughter before the surgery.” Doctor Hwang knows about the relationship between the two friends and Yuri.   There is a long pause as Soo Man hesitates to grab the letter.   “He chose not to mail these, but instead, waited for the worst-case scenario to happen, that I’d be the one to personally give it to you. If it makes you feel any better, when I told him that he should do it himself to ensure that he’ll be okay, he says he fears that he wouldn’t be able to do so, especially to his one and only ‘daughter’.”   Lee Soo Man unlocks his hands and picks it up. Just like its thickness, it was pretty heavy. “Are you saying…”   “His last words to me were, ‘I won’t have the time.’ If that is what you want to know,” the Doctor says.   “…’Time’…?”   *   It’s finally a week before the official promotion and the SHINee boys’ schedules are open as they are getting free time to rest before the official promotion starts.   Ever since Yuri and Minho have their private conversation, she avoids all of the people who were present at the get-together, including Yoona and Jessica, Taecyeon, and her two friends. She can’t shrug off the fact that they got together to hid something that relates to her about her father. She still can’t remember exactly what happened that night, but whenever she gets time on her hands, she thinks back to that day and replays it over her head until some sort of hint or memory pops up.   Even today, on a beautiful Saturday, she has been in her dorm, thinking, trying to remember what had happened. She and Minho have promised one another. If she can remember exactly what happened, he will spill everything and will help get her cell back.   If she can’t, he will do nothing.   *   “What are you laughing about?” Onew asks Jonghyun as he is practicing walking around their dorm without his crutches.   Jonghyun looks up from his cell phone. “The texts that my Jes—someone wrote to me.”   “Someone? Who?” Onew questions, walking over to sneak a peek, but Jonghyun crouches over his cell, not letting Onew know it’s a text from his darling Ice Princess Jessica.   Suddenly, Key enters from the hallway with his boxer shorts and sleepy face. “What’s with all the noise? It’s a beautiful Saturday before our promotion and I can’t get enough rest!” He grabs a pillow from the nearby sofa and pops down to sleep on it. After resting his head on it for a while, and with peace, he perks his head up again. With a sleepy face and squinty eyes, he lazily asks the two members in front of him, “Ya, I didn’t really pay attention to what Manager Yuri said…so, do—”   “No schedule until promotion,” Minho answers as he enters from the hallway. He’s already washed up and has on a white t-shirt and dark gray shorts. He comes over and sits by Jonghyun.   Jonghyun becomes paranoid and worried that Minho might peek, so he scoots over.   “What?” Minho looks at Jonghyun, confused.   Jonghyun shakes his head and acts innocent. “Nothing.” He decides to change the subject, “Is our maknae still asleep?”   Minho nods. The mentioning of Taemin reminds him of her confession to him about the young man. So, she doesn’t like him. She doesn’t see him in that way. He catches everyone looking at him, grossed out. “What?” He nervously points to his face. “Is there something on me?”   “Yeah,” Key answers. “That weird smile.” He immediately turns to the opposite side. “Wipe it off.”   Everyone else but Minho laughs.   “Ya,” Minho’s voice sounds a bit depressing, so everyone stops laughing and pays attention to him, “why did you ask that question?”   Everyone but the two involved are confused, looking back and forth between the two.   “Ah. You’re talking about the question at the end of the letter from a week ago?”   Jonghyun becomes interested. He puts his cell aside and childishly turns his whole body to Minho. “Did we all have the same question, or did we get different ones?” He thinks back to his and Jessica’s question. “Ours was, ‘If you can say one phrase to your partner, what would it be?’”   “So, we didn’t have the same question?” Minho asks Key, who thought the same as Jonghyun, too, before finding this out.   No response from Key as they wait.   Onew finds this intriguing so he walks over to the sofa across Jonghyun and Minho and sits on it.   “Onew hyung,” Minho decides to change his target for an answer. “Did you know anything about it?”   Before Onew can answer, Key finally stands up abruptly. “I purposely wrote different questions to make the game interesting. And I’ve got the results I wanted to happen.”   “What do you mean?” Jonghyun and Minho become somewhat afraid of Key, not knowing what this mastermind has in his sleeves.   Key stands up and yawns. “For lack of better words...I’m…Cupid!” He does a peace sign and winks, trying to play his way out of the investigation.   “Don’t joke around, answer us seriously.” Minho throws a nearby pillow to Key, missing just by a few centimeters. “This is important.”   “Because it relates to Manager Yuri?” Key hits the spot.   Minho doesn’t know what to say. He’s surprised at how blunt and true Key is.   “I’ll just say this, and I hope you two will catch on: Is it wrong for a friend to want to help his friends with something they’re oblivious to?” Key looks at the two boys. They’ve got what I’m implying. Finally! This way, fewer problems for me to handle. “Well, I’ll be taking a morning nap…especially after all that investigating.” He smiles and enters the hallway and goes into his room.   “Minho ah, do you unders—” Jonghyun is interrupted when their door swings open without warning, causing him, Minho, and Onew to nervously jump in fear.   “SHINee boys! Are you ready to shine with me?!” Unexpectedly, it is Yuri.   A very happy Yuri.   A ‘not-avoiding-SHINee’ Yuri.   She has on a light baby blue shirt covered by a thick dark blue blue jacket, black skinny jeans, and converse shoes. She takes a good look at each of them and frowns. “What’s wrong? You guys don’t want to hang out with your manager for the day?” She comfortably walks over to the window near Minho and opens the curtains and window. She breathes into the morning sky. “You can’t say no to this kind of weather.”   She turns over and smiles. “Spend time with me for today.”   *   Everyone is crowded around Yuri after being washed up and ready. They haven’t agreed yet, but Yuri doesn’t care. She makes sure they’re going to spend a day with her.   “I don’t think we can go out of our dorms today, though,” Taemin says, rubbing his eyes.   Yuri, legs crossed has a non-worried look. “Yes, we can.”   Everyone looks at her for an explanation.   “Our drivers today will not be provided by the agency, but by me!” As expected, she sees even more confused faces, so she continues. “Our drivers for today are Taecyeon…and Key oppa!”   “O…oppa!?” Everybody exclaims. This is the first time they have heard Yuri add the ‘oppa’ ending to a boy’s name. They all see Key blush, which is surprising.   Jonghyun puts out a hand. “Wait, Taecyeon too?!”   She nods. “Yep. He’s a friend, and I want to hang out with him too.” She stands up. “If it makes you feel any better, I’ve invited your girl, Jessi—”   Before she can finish saying the name, Jonghyun runs over and covers and whispers in her ears. “They can’t know about it.”   She shoves his hand and whispers back. “Why?”   He bites his lower lips and looks away. “I’m still embarrassed about it.” He admits shyly.   “Okay, fine. But for that protection, today, you must be an accomplice then.”   “‘Accomplice’? What do you mean?” He questions, standing back.   “You will help me with anything I request of you.”   “Ah, okay, fine. But the word choice…was a bit weird, so I thought I’d be doing something…’bad’.” He does a weird hand movement as he says the word, ‘bad’.   She gives Jonghyun a hug, surprising everyone. She plays it off by saying, “Deal!”   *   “Oppa should be here by now…” Yuri mutters, sounding quite impatient. She looks at her watch. It’s already 10 in the morning.   The gang already had breakfast before setting off.   “‘Oppa’ again? Who? Taecyeon hyung?” Taemin asks.   She nods. “Yeah. I want to call him oppa like how I call my friend Eunhyuk oppa.” Even if it’s just for a day.   “Then why not call us oppa, too?” Onew asks, feeling quite left out in almost everything.   Yuri hesitates to answer.   “You called Key oppa, but can’t call us oppa?”   “Ah, it’s not that. It’s just…” She tries to find a better way of answering, but luckily, Taecyeon arrives on time and Minho saves her by pointing out Taecyeon’s car.   To their surprise, in the passenger seat of the car sits Yoona, smiling and waving happily as she is beside Taecyeon. After Taecyeon stops in the driveway just behind Key’s car for everyone else to come aboard, the idols and Yuri dash to them like crazy paparazzi fans.   Yoona pulls down her window. “Aren’t you guys going to get on?”   “Aish, if Yoona’s here, Minho’s going to have a lot of fun!” Taemin and Onew pout. “Now, I really want a girlfriend!”   Yoona looks at Taecyeon and then at Minho. “You didn’t tell them?”   Minho opens the door to Taecyeon’s car. “I’ll tell them later.” He buckles up and sighs. “Okay, who’s coming with us?”   Taemin and Onew frown. “Ya, we’re single, so we’re going with the all-single men car.” They walk away and hug each other, acting all lovey-dovey to one another to show their jealousy.   Jonghyun is about to follow Key and Taemin, although being hesitant about which car to use, but he is stopped by Minho. “You’re coming with us. You’re not single.” He purposely blurts it out so Yoona and Taecyeon would hear.   Jonghyun blushes and hides his face behind the door. “What are you saying, Minho ah?”   “This is for what happened earlier in the dorm,” Minho says, angrily, mentally referring to the hug Jonghyun received from Yuri.   Jonghyun pops up and starts pointing. “What did I do?”   Minho raises his voice, “You hugged—” he stops himself from finishing his sentence with Yuri’s name when he finds that his reason is a bit too childish. “Whatever. Choose.”   Jonghyun looks at both cars and devilishly smiles. “Well, since that’s the all-single men car, I’ll go here.” He hops onto the car, sitting right next to Minho and buckles up. He looks back outside. “Yuri, that’s the men’s car. Wanna go here since it has no name? Ah- it’ll be the all-mixed car, then.”   Taecyeon looks back with a laugh. “You have no sense of style.”   Jonghyun covers his face in humiliation. “Not my fault I can’t come up with a better name.”   Yuri nods her head. “No. I’ll go with Key and them.” Before she closes the door, she says, “Make sure you guys go pick up Jessica eonni too, at the agency.” She sticks out her tongue at Jonghyun, whose face is already pale and frozen. “She’ll be waiting!” She runs to Key’s car and pops herself into the passenger’s seat.   Jonghyun, shocked, doesn’t know what to say. “Sica is really going?”   Yoona nods. “Yeah, you didn’t know? This morning, Taecyeon oppa, Sica eonni and I just got a phone call from Yuri to get ready to have a fun day with her.”   “How did she call you if she doesn’t have her cell phone yet? Or did they give it to her already?” Jonghyun asks.   “She had asked around,” Taecyeon answers. He makes a turn opposite of Key’s car as they head to the SM Agency to pick up Jessica.   Minho leans inwards. “Wait, they’re not going with us?”   “Oppa, we’re going to meet them up over there later,” Yoona says, texting to someone.   “‘There,’ as in where?” Minho continues to ask.   Yoona shrugs. “She says she’ll tell us after we pick up Sica eonni by using Key oppa’s cell.”   *   “Yuri Manager, you know that there’ll be a lot of people over there, right?” Taemin asks in the car.   Yuri nods. “I know. But I still want to go there.”   “Why? We’ll have fun, but you probably won’t. You’ll be so busy that you won’t have time to have fun,” Onew says, already pitying Yuri before the destination arrival.   “That’s exactly why I want to go there: to do a better job at my job,” she says.   Key stops at a red light. Without looking at anyone, he says, “I have a feeling I won’t like what you’re doing, but…”   “Hyung…” Taemin quietly mutters.   “…I hope you know what you’re doing.” Key ends the conversation, letting Yuri think to herself about the whole situation.   I know. I know exactly what I’m going to do. She squeezes onto her bag. I know exactly what I’m doing…   *   “Hi, Sica eonni!” Yoona shouts through her window as Jessica walks over to the car.   Jonghyun bashfully opens the door for his girl, but doesn’t dare look at her in the face.   “I love your shorts. They’re cute.”   Jessica closes the door and sends back a smile. “Thanks. I got it pretty cheap. It matches the weather today, so I decided to wear it.” She glances at Jonghyun shyly and asks, “Do you like it?”   Everybody in the car does an “ooohhhh” sound, making the couple embarrass.   Jonghyun slightly nods.   The sounds became louder and much longer.   Jessica changes the subject as she touches her cheeks. “So, where are we going? Yuri quickly hanged up before I even got to ask her.”   “Let me text her.” Yoona takes out her cell phone and starts texting to Key to reach Yuri.   Jessica is bewildered. “So, she got her phone back? I thought her friends had kept it since then.”   Everyone in the car shakes their head.   Minho answers Jessica’s questions. “No, she doesn’t, but she’s starting to have snippets of it.”   “Snippets?” Jessica repeats. “What do you mean?”   “How did you know?” Jonghyun asks, never heard of this before.   Minho sighs. “We had a talk that night after rehearsal, and she told me that she was already suspicious of us having that get-together that day and had started thinking about it. She was suspicious because of the fact that she couldn’t remember anything from before.” He doesn’t dare inform them of the fact that Doctor Hwang had seen them that night and had told Yuri of her unconsciousness.   Taecyeon nods. “Ah, so you’re saying that because she realizes she’s forgot something and felt that the get-together was weird, it triggered something?”   “That...and, sometimes, when she sees or does something, it also triggers that night, too.” Minho continues.   Jonghyun claps once. “Like that day! Minho, are you talking about when we have received our promotional album pictures a few days ago, and while she was looking at it with us, she started to randomly say, ‘picture...paper?’ Is it?”   “She did that?” Yoona asks, turning her upper body around to hear better.   Jonghyun and Minho nod.   Minho adds, “She even sat down and then started searching for the paper she said, but she couldn’t find it.”   “I think she must’ve been searching for the will, but doesn’t know it’s the will and that it’s in her cell phone,” Jonghyun clarifies.   “I think so too.” Taecyeon agrees. “So in conclusion, she knows nothing still.”   Everyone nods.   There is a long silence.   Everyone is contemplating. They are all feeling guilty. Sad. Disappointed.   Disappointed at themselves for keeping this silent from the person who needs to know it most...and will get hurt the most.   Suddenly, Yoona’s phone vibrates. “That scared me.” She picks it up and reads the text, “Key oppa’s, or Yuri’s text says to meet at...what!?” She turns her phone around for everyone to see. “Is it just me or...are you guys seeing this, too?”   “‘Seoul Park’?” Minho reads what Yoona missed to say. “Why there?”   Jonghyun scratches his head. “Ya, since today’s a Saturday, wouldn’t there be a lot of people?”   “It’d be dangerous for us to go, since we’re idols.” Taecyeon adds.   Jessica scoots near Jonghyun to be closer to everyone. “And we have no one from our agencies to help us if we suddenly have fan attacks.”   “Should we tell her to change the destination place?” Yoona asks, biting her thumb nail. “I kind of feel bad if we were to reject it, though, especially with all the deception behind her back.” She sighs and looks at the front. “But, seriously, why there of all places?”   No one answers.   No one knows the answer.   *   Despite the silent protest to be at Seoul Park for the day, everyone is still happy that they’re going to be spending time having fun.   That’s important.   At the entrance, even during the retrieval of getting their tickets, many fans have surrounded them and taken pictures of the idols. Yuri one-handedly protects all eight idols. She even lied, saying that this is a private show that will probably be aired in the next few days.   “SHINee oppa! Taecyeon oppa! What show is this?” A fangirl from the crowd shouts.   The boys look over at a non-stressed Yuri.   “Yuri’s Wonderful Outing!” Yuri answers as she shouts. Seeing that they’ve reached a place, she then signals for the idols to enter the place.   Because of the huge crowd, even the attraction’s staffs and security guards came to help Yuri and the ‘Yuri’s Wonderful outing’ invisible staffs.   Behind closed doors of the department, Minho pulls Yuri off to the side and lectures her. “Ya! What is this? ‘Yuri’s Wonderful Outing’? Do you not understand the situation you’re putting yourself into?”   She pulls her arm out of his hand. “Yeah! It’s my wonderful outing. Got a problem with that? And yes, I do know what I’m putting myself into, but why should I let that be a reason for me to not be able to hang out with you guys?” She exhales and scoffs. “Ex
